Disney Cruise from New York

For 2012 the Disney Magic will cruise from New York. This is the first time that the Magic has cruised out of New York. There are 3 different itineraries which will sail from New York – an 8 night Bahamian cruise, a 5 night Canadian Disney cruise, and a 2 night weekend cruise.

Disney 8 Night Bahamian Cruise from New York

The itineraries give a wonderful opportunity to visit some great ports including Disney’s own private island Castaway Cay. Disney cruisers consistently say that Castaway Cay is their very favorite port.

The cruise from New York is also the only Disney cruise to have Walt Disney World as a port stop in the middle of the itinerary. The Disney Magic will sail to Port Canaveral in the middle of the cruise so that passengers have the chance to visit Walt Disney World. The cruise price includes a one day ticket and transportation to Walt Disney World so that passengers have the opportunity to easily visit the parks during their cruise. This is a unique feature not offered by any other cruise available.

The Disney Magic will sail from New York on May 25th, June 2nd, June 22nd, June 30th, July 20th, July 28th, August 17th, and August 25th 2012

All departures are on a Friday for 8 nights except June 2nd, June 30th, July 28th and August 25th when the Magic leaves port on a Saturday.

Friday New York City
Saturday At Sea
Sunday At Sea
Monday Nassau
Tuesday Castaway Cay
Wednesday Port Canaveral Florida
Thursday At Sea
Friday At Sea
Saturday New York City

Disney 5 night Canadian Cruise from New York

The Disney Magic departs from New York on the Canadian cruises on June 10th, June 17th, July 8th, July 15th, August 5th, August 12th, September 2nd, September 7th, September 12th 2012.

The Canadian itinerary is:

Sunday New York
Monday At Sea
Tuesday Halifax Nova Scotia
Wednesday Saint John New Brunswick
Thursday At Sea
Friday New York

All departures are on a Sunday except 7th September which is a Friday and 12th September which is a Wednesday.

The Canadian cruises include 2 new port stops for Disney – Halifax and Saint John. This is a great chance for passengers living close to New York to try out a Disney cruise.

2 Night Weekend Disney Cruises from New York

If you are looking for a short cruise break then these 2 night itineraries are the perfect chance to try a Disney cruise. Rarely does Disney ever have 2 night itineraries so this is a great chance to have a weekend break.

Sailings are on June 15th, July 13th, and August 10th

Friday New York
Saturday At Sea
Sunday New York

Disney has not yet announced it’s itineraries for the Disney Magic or the Wonder for 2013 but I would guess that New York will once again be used as a home port for the Disney Magic. It seems likely that the Disney Wonder will be moving out of Los Angeles – Disney cancelled most of their Mexican cruises for December 2012 out of LA so it looks as though the ship will be set for a chance.

Whichever cruise you choose for your family make sure that you get great advice from a Disney Travel Agent.

Disney Cruise to Hawaii 2012

If you wanted to book a Disney cruise to Hawaii for 2012 and thought you had missed out then here is your chance again to get a stateroom for the cruise which sails out of Los Angeles on 29th April. This is Disney’s first ever cruise to Hawaii and when the dates were released they sold out fast. But as often happens some of the staterooms are now available again as guests decided not to go ahead and confirm the bookings. So once again you have a chance to book a fabulous Disney cruise to Hawaii.

The Disney Wonder cruise ship will sail to Hawaii twice in 2012. Once on April 29th and then again on October 14th. Each cruise will be 14 nights and will visit Hilo on Hawaii, Kahului on Hawaii, Honolulu on the island of Oahu and Nawilwili on Kauai. There is one final port stop in Ensenada Mexico before you sail back home to Los Angeles.

A 14 night cruise gives you plenty of time to truly relax and enjoy a vacation. There is a lot of time at sea on this cruise but for some (including me) that is a huge part of the appeal. How often do you go on a trip only to find yourself at the end of it, more exhausted than when you started out? Sometimes it is a good idea just to step back and take some time to truly relax, and even perfect the art of doing nothing, if only for a few days!

Of course there is so much to do on a Disney cruise you are always going to have something to keep you occupied. Disney cruises are very family orientated but there is something for all ages to enjoy. Don’t think that this one is just for the kids because the adults are not going to want the cruise experience to end either!

What is so special about a Disney cruise? The great designs of the ships include many industry firsts such as rotational dining (where your wait staff go with you as you dine in the different restaurants). The staterooms are up to 25% larger than others in the industry. This makes a huge difference, particularly when you are sailing on a longer cruise. The children’s entertainment and kids clubs are the very best at sea. And of course you have the Disney magic. It is difficult to put into words if you have never sailed on a Disney ship, but the standard of service is exceptional and the attention to detail is not something you usually find with other cruise lines. Disney always excels at putting on a show and you can experience Broadway quality entertainment every night on your cruise.

Disney Cruise Hawaii 2012

Disney Cruise Line has just announced that in 2012 they will be sailing to Hawaii out of Los Angeles. This is the first time that a Disney ship has ever sailed to Hawaii. The Disney Wonder sails out of the port of Los Angeles on 29th April 2012 for this very special 15 night cruise. The itinerary has plenty of relaxing days at sea, 4 port stops in Hawaii and a final call in Ensenada. Here is the itinerary:

Sunday Los Angeles
Monday At Sea
Tuesday At Sea
Wednesday At Sea
Thursday At Sea
Friday Hilo, Hawaii
Saturday Kahului, Hawaii
Sunday Honolulu, Oahu
Monday Nawilwili, Kauai
Tuesday At Sea
Wednesday At Sea
Thursday At Sea
Friday At Sea
Saturday At Sea
Sunday Ensenada, Mexico
Monday Los Angeles

It will be interesting to see how popular the Disney cruise ot Hawaii is. Staterooms go on sail today for Castaway Cay Club members and on 8th April to all other guests. It is certainly a very tempting prospect for my family. But I do know that many people don’t have the luxury of taking that much time for a vacation.

Traditionally the 14 night Disney Transatlantic cruises have not been best sellers but that is probably more due to the one way nature of the sailing than it’s duration. With the sailing to Hawaii you have the convenience of leaving out of and returning to Los Angeles. There are a lot of days at sea. For some this may be a little too many but for others (including me) the idea of that length of time on the Disney Wonder sounds like paradise! There is so much to do with a full schedule of organized events for both children and adults – or of course you can just sit back and relax and do very little at all!

When the Disney Wonder returns to Los Angeles on 14th May 2012 it will sail a repositioning cruise to Vancouver in preparation for her Alaskan summer sailings. For most of the summer the Disney Wonder will sail out of Seattle to Alaska (except one sailing on 21st May which will depart out of Vancouver). The itinerary for the 14th May Disney Wonder sailing is

Monday Los Angeles
Tuesday At Sea
Wednesday San Fransisco
Thursday At Sea
Friday Victoria
Saturday Vancouver
Sunday Vancouver

There are also a number of 7 night Pacific Coastal cruises out of and returning to Los Angeles in September 2012 on the Disney Wonder. Guests on the West Coast are certainly getting a much greater choice of itineraries for 2012 and that is great news for everyone!
