Disney Art of Animation Resort Hotel

The excitement is building as the opening of the Disney Art of Animation Resort Hotel gets closer. Disney has just announced that the resort will open in stages. The first Art of Animation Resort rooms will be available on 31st May 2012. The final phase will open in December 2012.

Here is a video showing how the details of the Art of Animation Resort are taking shape

The Art of Animation Resort has 4 distinct themed areas all taking inspiration from Disney Pixar movies.

All of the 260 square feet standard rooms will have a Little Mermaid theme. They sleep up to 4 guests. These standard rooms are based on the design in the All Star Resorts. Demand for these rooms is likely to be very high as this is of course the newest Disney Value Resort and it has a theme which young children are really going to love. Current pricing ranges from $94 to $179 per night. If you want a preferred room these have a premium of $10. They are exactly the same in design as the standard rooms but have a better location within the resort (closer to the pools or bus transportation).

One of the most popular room choices is the family suite. The suites will be in The Lion King, Finding Nemo or Disney Pixar Cars themed areas.

These family suites will sleep up to 6 guests in a 520 square feet suite. The design of the family suite has a separate bedroom with a double bed. There is also a living room which has a single sleeper couch and a double sleeper sofa. There are also basic kitchenette facilities of a refrigerator, coffee maker and microwave. These Art of Animation Resort rooms are bound to be very popular with families who are looking for more space but do not have the budget for a Disney Resort Villa. The family suites are priced from $248 per night in low season.

As you can see from the video the attention to detail at the resort is going to be amazing. The Art of Animation resort is sure to prove very popular with families with young children. The 3 themed swimming pools will be a large part of the attraction to the resort (and most likely be very busy at peak times). The main pool is named The Big Blue and has a Finding Nemo theme. The Big Blue is located in the Finding Nemo section of the resort so these rooms are likely to be very popular. There are 2 other swimming pools available too: The Cozy Cones in the Cars themed section and Flippin Fins Pool in The Little Mermaid section. These pools are smaller and are likely to be quieter than the main pool (if a pool in a Value Resort can ever be quiet)!

The Art of Animation Resort will have access to Disney bus transportation and there will be bus stops throughout the resort. There is a main quick service dining venue but details have not yet been announced. As with all the Disney Value Resorts there will not be a full service restaurant on site.

The Disney Art of Animation Resort is likely to be hugely popular and bookings are already going extremely well even before the first phase of the resort opens in May 2012. If you want to ensure that you get your first choice of room then make sure to book as far ahead as you can. Particularly if you want one of the Family Suites.

Walt Disney World January 2012

If you are visiting Walt Disney World in January 2012 here is a guide to what is happening in the parks at that time including parades, special events and ride closures.

Disney World Ride and Attraction Closures for Refurbishment in January 2012

It is always best to be prepared for which attractions will be closed when you visit, so here are the scheduled refurbishments for January 2012.

In Magic Kingdom the very popular Dumbo ride will be closed from January 9th to February 17th. You do need to warn the younger children about this as they may be disappointed. An alternative ride is The Magic Carpets of Aladdin which is very similar to Dumbo.

Also Big Thunder Mountain in Magic Kingdom will be closed for refurbishment from January 9th to 27th May 2012. This is a major attraction which will be closed for quite a considerable time. Expect Splash Mountain to have longer lines as it will take up some of the capacity of guests who would have been riding on Big Thunder Mountain.

The Plaza Ice Cream Parlor on Main Street in Magic Kingdom will be closed from January 4th to March 27th 2012.

The only closure in Epcot for January will be Tutto Italia Ristorante in the Italy World Showcase Pavilion which will be closed from January 7th to April 30, 2012.

If you are visiting Disney Hollywood Studios in January and early February 2012 you will be disappointed to find out that Fantasmic! will not be playing for much of the time. It will be dark from 9th January to 12th February 2012.

Also in Epcot the Sounds Dangerous Soundstage is open only seasonally and due to low attendance is unlikely to be open for any of January.

The water parks always close over the winter for refurbishment – whilst one is closed the other will be open. If you are visiting in January then Blizzard Beach will be open but Typhoon Laggon is closed from 4th December 2011 to 17th March 2012.

Disney World Magic Kingdom Parade in January 2012

If you possibly can then you should always try and catch Disney’s Main Street Electric Parade in Magic Kingdom. It will be performed most nights in January 2012 but will not be run on 8th, 11th, 13th, 15th, 17th, 18th, 22nd, 24th, 25th, 27th, 29th, and 31st January.

Disney has a very good idea of which days will be the highest attendance days – so expect the days when the Electric Parade is scheduled to be the busier ones in Magic Kingdom.

Disney World Hotel Refurbishments

These closures generally only affect Disney World hotel guests but are worth noting.

The Disney Grand Floridian Resort Spa closed in September 2011 and will remain closed for 18 months. The fitness center is still open.

In the Polynesian Resort the sand beach is being refurbished from 24th December to 10th January 2012.

Walt Disney World Special Events January 2012

The major event in January 2012 is the Walt Disney World Marathon. This event is held every year in January and this year various races will be held in the theme parks from 5th January to 8th January 2012. This is a popular event and will mean that attendance at the parks is heavier than you may expect at this time.

Disney Magic Kingdom Hotels

The Disney Magic Kingdom hotels offer luxury and an unrivaled location for those wanting to stay near The Most Magical Place on Earth. The Magic Kingdom hotels are all in the category of Walt Disney World deluxe resorts.

Here are the Disney World hotels closest to Magic Kingdom. Most are on the monorail system with the exception of Wilderness Lodge which is accessed by boat or bus transportation to the park.

Disney’s Grand Florida Resort Hotel and Spa

The most luxurious of them all. This is Disney’s flagship deluxe resort. If you are looking for the best location, largest rooms, fabulous swimming pools, recreation, dining and even a spa then this could be the resort for you. The huge lobby is the very picture of elegance and relaxation but you will feel at home here dressed in a dinner jacket or shorts and a Mickey Mouse hat.

The Magic Kingdom is easily accessed from the Grand Floridian by the monorail or the resort boat. You can be in the Magic Kingdom in minutes. Very convenient for visiting the park in the morning, coming back to the hotel for a short rest and then heading back out in the evening.

Here is a guide to Disney World Grand Floridian

If is also very easy to access Epcot from any of the Disney Magic Kingdom hotels. Travel to the Transport and Ticket Center on the monorail and then catch another monorail to Epcot. All other parks are accessed on the Disney bus transportation system from the Magic Kingdom resorts.

Disney Contemporary Hotel and Resort

A very unique Magic Kingdom hotel. The Contemporary Resort actually has the monorail run right through the lobby area. You can’t get much more convenient than this as the monorail will transport you in minutes to the Magic Kingdom.

The Contemporary Resort has 2 distinct sections. The Tower building with the monorial running through it, the main lobby and the restaurants. The separate building is the Garden Wing. Different view options are offered including of course the most coveted (and expensive) Magic Kingdom view.

The Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort is part of the Disney Vacation Club and offers studio, one, two and three bedroom villas. These can be booked by anyone – you do not have to be a Disney Vacation Club owner. Rates start at around $450 per night for a studio right up to around $2000 a night for a 3 bed villa.

For more details here is a Disney Contemporary Resort guide.

Disney’s Polynesian Resort Hotel

If you are looking for a tropical resort paradise just minutes from Magic Kingdom then the Disney Polynesian Hotel is a great choice. The rooms are amongst the largest of any Disney resort including the Grand Floridian. There are lots of view choices including some Magic Kingdom views.

There are some good dining choices and the Polynesian is home to the very popular dinner show Spirit of Aloha Polynesian Luau.

The Magic Kingdom is easily reached from the Polynesian by either monorail or boat.

Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort

Walt Disney’s WIlderness Lodge Resort is not part of the monorail system but has easy access to the Magic Kingdom by boat. The resort is one of the most stunning architecturally of all the Disney hotels. Step into the lobby and you step into a different world – far removed from the crowds of the theme parks. This deluxe Walt Disney World resort takes it’s inspiration from the Old Faithful Lodge in Yellowstone National Park.

Guests can choose between the hotel rooms of the resort or the larger Disney Wilderness Resort Villas. At a standard 340 square feet the rooms at Wilderness Lodge are a little on the small side so if this is a consideration you should look to one of the other Magic Kingdom hotels.

The Wilderness Lodge has some great dining choices including the highly regarded Artist Point.

If you are looking for a very relaxing atmosphere and beautiful surroundings then you should consider Disney Wilderness Lodge.

All of the Disney Magic Kingdom hotels offer easy access to the park. Unlike non Magic Kingdom resort guests you do not have to go though the Transport and Ticket Center so you save a great deal of time in your journey to and from the park. This collection of deluxe hotels is amongst the finest in Walt Disney World – so the most difficult thing is choosing which one is best for you.

Windsor Palms Resort Kissimmee

Windsor Palms Resort Kissimmee is an excellent choice if you are looking for a vacation home so close to Walt Disney World that you can drive there in just 8 minutes. Choosing a Disney World vacation home can sometimes get confusing. So I made this fun video about how to find the very best one!

Windsor Palms Resort is located just 3 miles from Disney World in the popular Kissimmee area. This means that Windsor Palms is one of the very closest to Disney World – here are the genuine driving times:

Animal Kingdom 8 minutes
Magic Kingdom 20 minutes
Epcot 20 minutes
Hollywood Studios 15 minutes

You really can’t get much closer to Disney World than that without staying on the Disney resort itself.

There are so many advantages to renting a vacation home.

Space

Most hotel rooms in Orlando will give you around 300 square feet of space. Even the smallest of vacation homes are going to give you so much more space than that. My Windsor Palms 5 bed conservation view home is around 2250 square feet. Everyone has their own bedroom and there are even 2 King master bedrooms.

Luxury

Why share a swimming pool when you can have your very own? Take some time with the family to relax and just have fun around the pool. Many guests say that this is their very favorite thing about renting a Windsor Palms vacation home.

This is one of the most amazing pools on Windsor Palms. This conservation view is priceless. The privacy that it gives you is a very rare feature. Also this is one of very few homes to have solar pool heating. Not only is it great for the environment but it also means that your pool will be up to 10 degrees warmer than others, without needing to turn on the electric heat.

Fun

A very popular feature of this Windsor Palms vacation home is the 2 themed bedrooms. There is a Disney Princess themed room.

And with the very successful launch of Wizarding World of Harry Potter we designed this very special themed room.

There is even a games room with pool table, foosball, air hockey and plenty of things for the kids to play with. One of the most popular toys is the new train table!

It Saves You Money

The cost of a Windsor Palms vacation home is probably less than you think. But not only do you save on the nightly cost, as the house has free parking, free phone calls and free internet then you save on all of those extras which many hotels add on these days. The nightly rate is all you pay at the EverythingMouse Windsor Palms villa. No hidden extras.

If you want you can also save money by eating at the house. Even if you just eat breakfast in your vacation home this can add up to savings of hundreds of dollars for a family.

Art of Animation Resort Rooms

Disney has just released photos of the much anticipated Art of Animation Resort Rooms. The latest Disney Value Resort will have almost 2,000 rooms. It will offer both standard rooms which sleep 4 and Family Suites which will accommodate up to 6 guests. Opening in 2012 the Art of Animation Resort is now taking bookings.

Disney’s Art of Animation has four themes which are all taken from popular Disney and Pixar movies.

All of the standard rooms will be in The Little Mermaid section of the Art of Animation Resort.

If you are looking for a family suite to sleep up to 6 guests then you can choose either Disney Pixar Cars, Finding Nemo or The Lion King themed rooms.

Disney Art of Animation Cars Themed Rooms

The Art of Animation suites are a good size at 520 square feet. Each has a master bedroom with a double bed. There is a separate living room with a double sofa bed and single couch bed.

Art of Animation Finding Nemo Themed Rooms

The Finding Nemo family suites in the resort may prove to be the most sought after. Not just because of the cute theme but also because the Finding Nemo buildings are closest to the largest swimming pool on the resort and also closest to the main building which houses the lobby and the quick service dining restaurant.

The family suites at Art of Animation also have 2 bathrooms and a small kitchenette. Perfect for a larger family or group who want value accommodation on Disney World property.

Disney Art of Animation Lion King Family Suites

The Lion King section will no doubt prove to be popular. One of the most successful Disney movies of all time has just been released in 3D so a whole new generation of younger movie fans will be introduced to the story.

Art of Animation The Little Mermaid Rooms

The Little Mermaid section of the resort has 260 square feet of space and can accommodate 2 adults and 2 children. The rooms are not particularly large at 260 square feet but as you can see they are of course wonderfully themed. Rates for the Art of Animation Little Mermaid standard rooms start at $94 per night for a Regular Season weekday night rising up to $179 per night.

Top 10 Disney World Snacks

What are the top 10 best snacks in Disney World? If you are on the Disney Dining plan you will get up to 2 snack credits per day so you want to make the best use of those credits. Some, although not all of this list is available as a snack credit on the Disney Dining Plan. Or if you are just looking for a bite to eat at Disney World and want some ideas. Of course everyone has their own opinion but here is a guide to some of the most popular and well liked snacks in Walt Disney World.

Ice Cream Cookie Sandwhiches

These ice cream cookie sandwiches have long been a favorite with guests in Magic Kingdom. They are available from Sleepy Hollow Refreshments located in Libery Square. They are very popular and priced at just $4.19 they are difficult to resist. Definitelly one of the best ice cream treats available in Disney World.

Cakes From Boulangerie Patisserie in Epcot France

If you can brave the always long lines for the Boulangerie Patisserie in Epcot France there are some excellent choices of snacks here. A chocolate croissant is only $2.85 and a particular favorite, a Napolean is $3.70. The only thing disappointing here is the coffee. I really would have expected more from a French cafe – let’s hope none of the natives ever try it from here!

Kaki Gori

You may not have hear of this one but it is well worth a try if you are passing the Kabuk Cafe in the Japan Pavilion in Epcot World Showcase. At just $3.50 you can certainly try this Japanese favorite of shaved ice flavored with syrups. Chose from either strawberry, melon or mikan (tangerine). Or if you can’t make up your mind just ask for rainbow which is a combination of all flavors. Perfect to cool you down on a hot Disney World day.

Pineapple Float

The lines can be long at the small Aloha Isle snack venue in Magic Kingdom. The reason for this is largely because of the famous Pineapple Dole Whip Float. Located in Adventureland the Aloha Isle serves up some excellent choices but the Pineapple Float has to be the winner. At $4.19 it is an excellent use of your snack dining credit. You can choose from pineapple, orange or vanilla Dole Whip in pineapple juice. You will have to try all of them of course to see which one you like best!

Mickey’s Premium Ice Cream Bar

This is a Disney classic. No visit to Disney World is complete without sampling a Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bar. They are widely available from ice cream carts throughout the parks and cost $3.50.

Baby Cakes in Downtown Disney

Disney World is such an excellent place to be if you have food allergies or dining preferences such as a vegan diet. Vegans certainly rejoiced at the opening of Baby Cakes in 2010 in it’s new Downtown Disney locations – ironically where MacDonalds used to be.

Everything at Baby Cakes is gluten free, vegan and refined sugar free. The cupcakes are priced at $3.50 and are well worth a try particularly the Red Velvet Cupcake. They also offer excellent donuts. This is a must visit bakery for vegans and anyone on a gluten free diet visiting Disney World.

Zebra Domes

This is one of the more difficult to find snacks, simply because many Disney guests do not venture out to Disney Animal Kingdom Lodge. The zebra domes are available in Boma restaurant (which is a buffet) but are also on sale as a snack in Mara in Disney Animal Kingdom Lodge which is a quick service dining venue. Gluten free Zebra Domes are available in Boma – I have never asked in Mara but if you are on a gluten free diet certainly ask to find out if they have any. They are $3.69

The Disney food blog has an excellent recipe for Zebra Domes. For vegetarians out there be aware that they are not suitable for you as they do contain gelatine.

Starring Rolls Cafe Tiramisu

If you need a sweet snack when you are in Disney Hollywood Studios then a great place to try is Starring Rolls. There is a large selection of sandwiches, sushi and cakes, but one of my favorites is the Tiramisu which is available for $3.99.

Tangerine Cafe Side Dishes

The Tangerine Cafe in the Morocco Pavilion in Epcot Worldshowcase is an excellent find for inexpensive small snacks at just $1.99 each. Yes the portions are small but it can be all you need to get you around World Showcase for a few more hours! Sample the Tabouleh, Marinated Olives, Lentil Salad and Tangierine Couscous Salad. A little out of the ordinary but a healthy and vegetarian snack alternative for those guests looking for something a bit different.

Funnel Cake

Not sure if you can call something with quite so many calories a snack but perhaps you can share it to get rid of the guilt! The Funnel Cakes served at the Funnel Cake Kiosk in The American Adventure at Epcot’s World Showcase are always very popular, and very tempting. The basic Funnel Cake is priced at $6 and is served with sugar. Add vanilla ice cream for $2.25, chocolate sauce for $1, or fruit for $2.

There are so many snacks to choose from at Disney World it is so difficult to choose. Which are your favorites? Leave me a Comment about your favorite Disney World snacks.

Top Reasons to Stay at a Disney World Resort

Why do guests choose to stay at a Walt Disney World Resort? There are so many choices of hotels and vacation homes in the area around the Disney parks which one should you choose. Top Travel website Travelocity has released a video which asks what are the top 4 reasons why guests choose a Walt Disney World Resort.

Location Location Location

This emerged as the number one reason why guests stay at Disney World onsite hotels. Very simply they are close to the Disney theme parks. As the saying goes ‘time is money’ and you can certainly save time in getting to the theme parks by staying on site. Some hotels are of course more ideally located than others. The Disney Monorail Hotels are in the best location as of course you can easily travel to Magic Kingdom using the monorail.

In general the rule is that the higher the category of Disney hotel, the closer it is to the parks. So expect a longer journey from the Value Resorts including the new Disney Art of Animation Resort to the parks than from a Deluxe or Moderate Resort. The exception to this is Disney Animal Kingdom Lodge which is a wonderful one of a kind hotel but it is the furthest away from Magic Kingdom, Epcot and Disney Hollywood Studios of all the hotels.

Disney World Transportation

Guests enjoy the easy access to Disney World Transportation. The Transportation system is very efficient and consists of the monorail, boats and buses. This transportation system is free for all Disney guests to use not just Disney resort guests.

Disney Extra Magic Hours

The Extra Magic Hours are one of the very best perks available to Disney World Hotel guests. On select days every week Disney Resort guests have either early access to the parks, or can stay later in the parks than ‘regular’ guests. This is a big advantage as of course the crowds are less, and so are the lines. If you use Extra Magic Hours to their best advantage you can see more attractions in a shorter space of time. Because your hotel is so close to the theme parks too you can return to your hotel after an early morning start for a rest and then go back out later in the day.

Disney Magical Express

The Disney Magical Express transports you easily and efficiently from Orlando International airport to your resort hotel – all free of charge. The Magical Express is extremely convenient, particularly as on most domestic airlines you check your bags on the plane and they are delivered to your Disney World Hotel Resort room for you. This saves a lot of stress in the airport. When it is time to return home a number of domestic airlines allow you to print your boarding pass in your resort hotel – another time saving perk.

Disney Dining Plan

The Disney Dining Plan wasn’t mentioned in the Travelocity survey but this is a big draw for many Disney resort guests. The Dining Plan is a popular way to pre pay for your Disney World dining – and it will usually also save you some money. How much it will save depends upon how each individual uses the plan, but really for most families this is going to save them a reasonable amount of money. Particularly popular of course is the free dining plan which is offfered from time to time. This is a great deal as the cost of the basic dining plan is included in with your hotel costs.

The Disney Hotel Experience

The Disney Hotels are pure and simply, just unique places to stay. It is that difficult to explain Disney magic! From the timeless elegance of the Disney World Grand Floridian to seeing a giraffe from your balcony at Disney Animal Kingdom Lodge or encountering a 35 foot tall Buzz Lightyear at Disney All Star Movie Resort all of the hotels have something very special to offer.

You can also go for dinner at Chef Mickeys. Dinner is served from 5pm to 9.30pm every day. The characters featured are usually Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Pluto, and Donald Duck.

The menu does change from time to time but here is a typical selection of what is on offer at Chef Mickey’s all you can eat dinner buffet. The menu does change but here is an idea of what you can expect.

Selection of Soup and Salads

Carvery Table Items usually including Beef

There is also a separate children’s buffet available which is sure to please even the most picky of eaters. It usually includes such choices as:

Pluto’s Chicken
Chef Mickey’s Macaroni and Cheese
Goofy’s Cheese Pizza
Chicken Tenders

Of course a buffet meal is mot complete without a great selection of desserts and you will certainly find something to tempt you at Chef Mickey’s. The Peack Cobbler and the Bread and Butter Pudding are particular favorites. If you are feeling a little more health conscious there is a selection of Fresh Fruit available.

Non alcoholic beverages are included in the price of the buffet. The price of the Chef Mickey character buffet for adults is $35.99 and $17.99 for children aged 3 to 9. Tax and Gratuity are not included. This is also one dining credit if you are on the Disney Dining Plan.

Most Disney restaurants now operate seasonal pricing so during Holidays and busy times there may be a price difference.

Will your family enjoy Chef Mickey’s? It is one of the most popular dining experiences and it is a great place to see your Disney characters. It is conveniently located in the Contemporary Resort so you can even visit on a day when you don’t want to use a theme park entrance ticket but still be a part of the Disney magic. It is very popular (and can be pretty loud). Be aware that it is likely there will be whole lot of young children there so don’t go to Chef Mickey’s expecting a quite, relaxing meal! But if you want good quality buffet food with some of the most popular characters in Disney World then Chef Mickeys is a great option!

To make a reservation at Chef Mickeys or any other Disney Dining Location you can call 407 WDW DINE or book online at Disney Dining Reservations

Disney Art of Animation Resort

Disney Art of Animation Resort is the newest addition to the Disney World value resorts. When it opens in 2012 it will offer almost 2,000 new Disney World Resort hotel rooms. Disney has shown it’s commitment to offering excellent value hotel rooms which are designed to appeal to families. There will be 1,120 suites and 864 standard rooms. The Disney Art of Animation resort is a great choice for larger families and is now available to book for 2012.

Disney Art of Animation Resort Rooms

Disney’s Art of Animation Resort will have almost 2,000 rooms. Guests can choose from standard rooms or opt for the larger suites which sleep up to 6. The suites offer a great opportuity for larger families to have more space in a value resort.

The standard rooms will sleep up to 4 guests and have a Little Mermaid theme. Following on from the success of the Pirate Themed Rooms at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort these rooms will likely prove very popular because of the attention to detail of the theme. They are 260 square feet so adequate for a family of 2 adults and up to 2 children. The rooms will be of the same basic design as the other Disney value resorts with a tub, shower and toilet in the bathroom. You can rent a mini refrigerator for $10 a day. Prices for the Art of Animation standard rooms start at $94 per night for a Regular Season weekday night rising up to $179 per night.

There are standard prefered rooms available – these are exactly the same design but are located closer to the pools and parking. The additional cost is around $10 a night.

The Art of Animation Family Suites are likely to prove very popular. They sleep up to 6 guests and have 520 square feet of space. The suites have a master bedroom with a double bed. There is a separate living room with a double sofa bed and single couch bed. The suites also have the advantage of 2 bathrooms and a small kitchenette. The theme of the suite will depend upon which area of the resort it is located in – either Finding Nemo, Disney Pixar Cars and The Lion King.

Rates for 2012 for Art of Animation Family Suites start at $248 and range up to $425 per room per night for the Holiday Season.

Which will be the best rooms at the Art of Animation Resort? All of the layouts of the rooms and suites will be identical, so it will be the location on the resort which will be important. Some like rooms closer to the central building and the parking lot. The resort is huge so there will be quite a bit of walking involved so if this is important to you then request a room closest to the bus stop or the pool. Remember that the prefered rooms will carry a $10 premium so think carefully about your choice.

Disney Art of Animation Resort Dining

Sepcific details have not yet been announced but the Art of Animation will follow the usual Disney value resort design and have a large food court in the main building. Not having a full service restaurant on site is of course one of the downsides of the value resorts, but if you are going to spend most of your time in the parks anyway most guests do not find this to be a problem. If guests are staying with a Disney World Package which includes dining this is a place where they can use counter service and snack credits.

Disney Art of Animation Recreation

There will be 3 swimming pools at the resort. The largest is the Finding Nemo themed pool which is named The Big Blue Pool. This is located directly behind the main building and is of course in the Finding Nemo area of the resort.

There are 2 additional pools. The Cozy Cone is in the Cars section of the resort and the Flippin Fins Pool which is in The Little Mermaid section. These 2 pools are designed to be the quieter pools with The Big Blue Pool being the major attraction.

Art of Animation Resort Disney Transportation

The resort is located in the same area as the All Star and Pop Century Resorts. It is closest to Blizzard Beach water park and ESPN Wide World of Sports. All Disney parks and Downtown Disney can easily be reached by using the Disney bus transportation system. The value resorts and the least centrally located of the Disney hotels (with the exception of Disney’s Animal Kingdom Resort) but the transport system is effiecient, quick and free to resort guests.

Why Should I Stay At Disney Art of Animation Resort?

The Art of Animation is of course the newest Walt Disney World hotel resort available. It has all the benefits of staying in a Disney resort for a very reasonable rate for the standard rooms. The family suites will of course offer larger accommdation for families. Some do feel that the room rates for the family suites are pitched a little high. Whilst at the moment all we have is concept art I am sure that the reality of the design will be amazing and Art of Animation rooms and suites will be in high demand. The value resorts are always popular and it is likely that the Animation Resort will take this to an even higher level – the theming is based on the very popular Disney movies of recent times, and so more guests can relate to it.

If you want to book a room at the Animation Resort you can do this now for 2012.

If you want to see more choices of resorts then click on this guide to Walt Disney World Hotels

Disney Art of Animation Resort Rooms

If you want to be one of the first to stay in Disney Art of Animation Resort Rooms or the Royal Guest Rooms at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort Riverside the rooms are now available for booking for 2012. But you will have to wait a little longer to actually stay there as the Art of Animation Resort is scheduled to open in early summer 2012, and the Royal Guest rooms at Port Orleans Riverside are not available until early Spring 2012.

The Disney Art of Animation Resort is the first all new Disney value hotel in quite a while. Building on the success of the other Disney value hotel resorts the Art of Animation will have more than 800 standard guest rooms. It will also have more than 1,100 family suites which will be great for larger parties because they will sleep up to six people.
