It is almost time for the new Cinderella movie to be released in theaters. The Disney animated classic will be on general release in theaters on March 13th.

The new movie largely follows the story of the 1950 Disney animated classic.

There is another huge draw to go and see the new Cinderella movie – the Disney short Frozen Forever. In a stroke of genius Disney is releasing the new short movie featuring Anna, Elsa, Olaf and Kristoff with the new Cinderella movie. Let’s face it. Even if Cinderella were merely an average movie, and there is no reason to think that it will be, there is such a huge audience desperate to see the return of our Frozen favorites that the box office success is pretty much assured.

Here is the cast of the Cinderella movie:

Cate Blanchett as Lady Tremaine
Lily James as Ella/Cinderella
Eloise Webb as Young Ella
Richard Madden as Kit
Helena Bonham Carter as The Fairy Godmother
Holliday Grainger as Anastasia
Sophie McShera as Drizella
Stellan Skarsgård as The Grand Duke
Nonso Anozie as Captain
Derek Jacobi as The King
Hayley Atwell as Cinderella’s Mother
Ben Chaplin as Cinderella’s Father

If you are wondering where you have seen Lily James and Sophie McShera before then you may have been watching Downtown Abbey in which they both appear.

Apparently Emma Watson was originally offered the part of Cinderella but she did not take the part. Perhaps she preferred the more cerebral princess role as she will star at Belle in the live action movie of Beauty and the Beast which is to be released in 2016.

Will you be going to see the Cinderella movie?
