The Disney Beach Club Resort is the perfect place to stay if you are looking for a deluxe hotel in an excellent location within walking distance of Epcot and Disney’s Boardwalk. The Beach Club swimming pool Stormalong Bay is also thought of as they very best of any of the Disney World resort pool’s.

As soon as you approach the Beach Club you will be struck by just how imposing and impressive it is, but as with all the Disney resorts, it is not imposing. This friendly upscale resort is designed to be reminiscent of a turn of the century New England style resort. It is joined with, but very different from, the Disney Yacht Club next door – they share the Stormalong Bay pool.

Disney Beach Club Rooms

What are the rooms at Disney’s Beach Club like. There are 576 guest rooms at the Beach Club. In addition there are 282 Beach Club Villas which are part of Disney Vacation Club.

Rooms are either 2 Queen’s, 2 Doubles or a King. Some rooms also have a daybed. Most of the rooms sleep up to 5 guests and are 381 square feet in size. If there are more than 2 adults in a room then there is an additional charge of $25 per extra adult.

The rooms at the Disney Beach Club have a either a Standard or a Water View. The Standard view can be over the parking lot, the roof or gardens. The Water View can be of Stormalong Bay, The Quiet Pool or Crescent Lake. Most of the rooms have balconies and most of the ground floor rooms have a patio. Be aware that the top floor rooms have enclosed balconies which are rather small and with limited visibility. Concierge rooms and suites are also available.

Rack rates for a standard room at Disney Beach Club range from $340 to $550 per room per night plus tax. A Water View room is from $420 to $615. A one bedroom suite starts at $600 to $860 per night.

Every room has a free, small refrigerator. Rooms are also wired for internet access but there is an additional fee for this.

Disney World Beach Club Transportation

One of the big advantages of staying at Disney’s Beach Club is the location. You are literally steps away from The Boardwalk and of course Epcot. If you do not want to take the short walk to the International Gateway Entrance to Epcot then you can always take the boat. Access to Disney’s Hollywood Studios is also by boat – a short and very pleasant ride which also makes stops at The Boardwalk and The Swan and Dolphin Hotels. Or if you want to you can even walk to Disney Hollywood Studios from The Beach Club. The walk takes around 15 to 20 minutes.

To access Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom there is a bus service. An alternative route to Magic Kingdom is to access the monorail via Epcot but the bus route is a lot quicker. There are also buses from the resort to Downtown Disney, Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon. Some of the buses may make additional stops so the journey times can be a little longer than you might expect.

One of the biggest reasons to stay at the Disney Beach Club is the Stormalong Bay swimming pool which it shares with the Yacht Club next door. Each of the hotels has a separate section to the pool but guests from each can use both sides. The pool became so well known that Disney had to build a fence around it to stop non guests using it! Now it is fenced off and you need your room key to access the area.

Stormalong Bay has an excellent water slide. Of course at busy times the line can get rather long unfortunately, but it is worth the wait. Another fun feature is the river part of the pool which has jets of water which push you around the pool – you can rent tubes and noodles to help you along it you want. Some guests do complain that you actually have to pay for the tubes. In a luxury hotel at a premium price this is a charge too far for some.

There are also hot tub’s, a sandy beach area and a wading pool. Something to keep all members of the family entertained.

If you are looking for a less busy area then try the Quiet Pool which is open 24 hours a day. The Beach Club has other recreation options including a health club. The Ship Shape Health Club is free for guests of The Beach and Yacht Club hotels. There is also a volleyball court and a jogging trail.

Disney Beach Club Restaurants

Perhaps you want to sample The Kitchen Sink (pictured above)? Head to Beaches and Cream for this $23.99 delight which includes 8 scoops of ice cream. Best to get someone to share! Beaches and Cream serves sandwiches, burgers and of course a wide variety of ice cream creations.

Cape May is a buffet restaurant offering dining for breakfast and dinner. Breakfast is a character meal. Goofy’s Beach Club Breakfast is priced at $18.99 for adults and $10.99 for children aged 3 to 9 for an all you can eat breakfast offering the usual favorites of Mickey waffles, eggs, bacon, pastries and fruit. There is a good selection although the buffet tables can get a little crowded so there can be a long wait. To while away the time the kids (and you of course) can draw on the paper table cloth. The Clam Bake Dinner Buffet is $26.99 for adults and $12.99 for kids aged 3 to 9 for an all you can eat buffet. If you like seafood then you will love this buffet which has clams, snow crab, mussels and shrimp. Meat lovers are also taken care of with steak or prime rib and pork. The selection of salads is good and of course the desserts are very tempting!

The Beach Club Marketplace offers a limited selection of made to order sandwiches. Some guests to comment that the lunch options at the Beach Club are rather limited.

You are of course within easy walking distance of the restaurants of The Boardwalk, The Yacht Club and The Swan and Dolphin hotels. You are also just a short stroll from the Epcot World Showcase Restaurants. So whilst the dining choices at Disney’s Beach Club are limited, you are surrounded by other options.

Is The Beach Club the one for you? Location is obviously a very big plus point. As is the high quality of the rooms and the overall deluxe experience. Stormalong Bay is a big attraction particularly for families with children. The downside? A lack of dining choices within the resort itself (but there are many a short stroll away), and the bus service only to Magic Kingdom.
