Disney World Fast Pass+ New Changes

There are more changes coming to the Disney World Fast Pass+ system soon. Disney has always said that the Fast Pass+ system is a work in progress and that it will be revealing changes and upgrades to this new way to enhance the experience of park guests. The current system for Fast Pass+ is that you can select up to 3 Fast Passes per day. From tomorrow April 28th this will change.

After guests have used their 3 Fast Passes they will be able to visit a kiosk to get another one. Once they have used this additional Fast Pass they can get another one, and so on.

It will be interesting to see how many Fast Passes are available for guests after they have used the first 3. When we have used Fast Pass+ we tended to have the Fast Passes spread out throughout the day so sometimes our last one has been for late in the evening. The new system is likely to encourage guests to plan their first 3 Fast Passes earlier in the day so that they then have the chance of getting additional ones.

It remains to be seen how good the system will be in a park with a limited number of headline rides such as Epcot. The major attractions in Epcot are Test Track and Soarin’. At the moment you can’t get Fast Pass+ for your first 3 choices for both of these rides. It may be that the best plan would be to get a Fast Pass+ for 3 rides including either Test Track or Soarin’ which will expire as early in the day as possible. I wonder whether there will be much availability left in the early afternoon for Fast Pass+ for these major attractions though.

What are your experiences of Fast Pass+? Do you think these new Fast Pass+ changes will enhance your experience in the Disney Parks?
