Disney Cruise Kids Sail Free 2013

Here are the latest Disney Kids Sail Free deals for early 2013. As always with these offers they sell out quickly. The Disney cruise kids sail free offers can save a lot so every time these offers come out they don’t last long.

To qualify for the deal the kids must travel with 2 guests paying full fare in the same stateroom. It is available for stateroom categories 4A to 11B which covers everything from inside staterooms to the deluxe family staterooms. Not surprisingly suites are excluded. Government taxes are not included which range from $52 to $84 per person depending upon which cruise you sail on.

It is rare to see so many itineraries available for this offer, and this is the first time I remember seeing it for 2 of the Disney ships at the same time.

The deals are for the Disney Wonder and the Disney Magic. These are the older ships in the Disney fleet but we feel they are still the very best at sea (our favorite is the Wonder).

For complete details of the itineraries for these ships see Disney Magic and Disney Wonder Cruises 2013. Select dates are included in this offer as detailed below.

Disney Cruise 2014 Sailings

Disney Cruise 2014 sailings have just been announced. We now have Disney cruise itineraries for all the ships for early 2014. The Disney Dream, Fantasy and Magic will all be sailing out of Port Canaveral Florida, and the Disney Wonder will sail from her new port of Miami Florida.

We are rather disappointed that all of the Disney Cruise ships will be on the East Coast sailing out of Florida ports for what seems like most of 2014. We are hoping though that as the dates for the Disney Wonder have only been given until April 27th there will be a full schedule of Alaskan cruises for the Wonder for 2014. This means of course that there would also need to be a repositioning cruise from Miami to (hopefully) Los Angeles sailing on April 27th 2014 and then Los Angeles to Seattle or Vancouver. This is only our speculation at the moment but of course we will keep you updated when the itineraries are announced.

It seems likely too that the Disney Magic will return to Europe for summer 2014. These have been very popular cruises and sell out quickly so it would make sense if Disney cruise line is planning on sending the Magic back there for 2014.

Unfortunately we are not surprised that the Disney cruise ships will be mostly based out of Florida for 2014. These are the itineraries which sell very well. Of course one of the reasons for this is that Florida sailings can visit Disney’s private island Castaway Cay which is consistently voted one of the highlights of a Disney cruise.

Disney Fantasy Cruise Ship Progress

The final piece of the Disney Fantasy cruise ship was placed and now the exterior of the latest Disney Cruise Line ship is complete. Work will now start on the interior of the fourth ship which will join the Disney Wonder, Magic and Dream as part of the Disney Cruise Line fleet. She is set to sail on her maiden voyage on 31st March 2012.

The Disney Fantasy is based on the same design as the Disney Dream but it’s interior will have some features which are different from it’s sister ship. So how will the Disney Fantasy be different from the Disney Dream?

Animation Magic

Like all the other Disney ships the Fantasy will feature an Animator’s Palate Restaurant. But the one on the Fantasy will invite all it’s guests to try their hand at being a Disney artist. Guests will be able to draw a character of their own using a simple template on their place mat. Later on in the meal the pictures will be projected onto a screen so that everyone can enjoy seeing what they have created. The Animator’s Palate experience is a very magical one on all the Disney cruise ships – definitely not to be missed.

Europa Entertainment District

Europa is the night time entertainment district on the Disney Fantasy. As you probably guessed by the name, the inspiration for this space is Europe. The bars and lounges, which are for over 18s only in the evenings, are inspired by the look and feel of Italy, Ireland, France and England. The Tube is designed around a London Underground theme, La Piazza the outdoor plazas of Italy, O’Gills Pub is a lively Irish themed bar, and Ooh La La has a French boudoir theme.

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique

The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique has long been a popular destination for anyone wanting to be transformed into a Disney Princess in Walt Disney World, but the Disney Fantasy will be the first cruise ship to have it’s own Princess transformation center. I would guess that this is going to prove to be a hugely popular feature on the Disney Fantasy.

The Disney Fantasy will of course have the same features which have proved to be so popular on the Disney Dream. The AquaDuck water coaster will be there. And so will the Virtual Portholes which have proved so popular with guests staying in the inside staterooms on the Disney Dream.

The Disney Fantasy will give guests the chance to have longer cruises than the Disney Dream. The Fantasy will sail out of Port Canaveral Florida from March 2012 on mainly 7 night cruise itineraries to the Caribbean.

Disney Fantasy Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique

One of the great successes of the Disney Parks is set to launch on the Disney Fantasy when she sails in March 2012. Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique will be located on Deck 5 of the Disney Fantasy, which is the place where the Oceaneer’s Club and Lab will be. So the little ones won’t have far to go to get their very special Princess or Pirate make over.

Children can choose from the packages which are also offered at the Boutique in Walt Disney World. Disney Diva, the Pop Princess and the Fairy Tale Princes are available. Children are transformed by their own Fairy Godmother with hair makeup and nails. If you want the full treatment then of course costumes, crowns and wands are always available to complete the final look.

The Disney Fantasy Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique will also have options not available in the parks. Captain Mickey Mouse, Princess Minnie Mouse and First Mate Minnie Mouse will be offered on the Disney Fantasy. Under the Sea packages will also be available.

Pirate Night on a Disney cruise is always a great excuse to dress up and now everyone can get some assistance if they want to. Even the grown ups! If you want to achieve that Captain Jack Sparrow look then Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique will be glad to assist.

No details have been released yet about the prices on Disney Fantasy but my guess would be that the rates would be similar to the Boutiques in the parks. In Disney World and Disneyland the most basic package is $49.95. If you want a costume, wand, crown and photos then the package is up to $250. Much cheaper for boys at $12.95 but then of course there is a lot less done, as they just have their hair gelled and receive a shield and a sword!

It is a sure bet that the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique will be hugely popular on the Disney Fantasy. It is likely that advance bookings will be required particularly on Pirate Night!

Disney Fantasy Animator’s Palate

One of the most amazing experiences on a Disney cruise is their excellent choice of restaurants. Disney cruise line has announced that there will be a new twist on the very popular restaurant Animator’s Palate when the Fantasy is launched in March 2012. Animator’s Palate is already one of the most popular restaurants on the Disney ships. The restaurant is well known for it’s dinner show where the walls (and indeed the waiters jackets) change from black and white to color. The whole dining experience ends when Mickey Mouse makes a magical appearance.

The new Disney Fantasy cruise ship will feature a new show in the restaurant. Animation Magic at Animator’s Palate will let every guest show their animation and drawing skills. And your art may even be featured in the final show.

Every diner will have the chance to draw a Disney character on their place mat. Guests will give the sketches to their waiters and wait to see if their drawing has been included in the animation show at the end of the evening.

This is another way in which Disney distinguishes itself from other cruise lines. The restaurant experiences are not just about the food. They are about the food, the exceptional service, and the art of entertainment in a truly Disney way. No other cruise line comes close to offering those special experiences which cruisers will remember for a long time to come.

Disney Fantasy Cruise Ship To Stage Aladdin Show

Disney’s Aladdin – A Musical Spectacular will take to the stage on the Disney Fantasy cruise ship when it launches in 2012. Anyone who has been to the amazing Aladdin show in California Adventure Park will know that this is one of the best theme park show attractions which Disney has ever staged, so we should have high hopes for the new Disney Fantasy version.

I am sure that we can expect the same high quality staging and performances as we see in the Anaheim park version. Disney has said that there will definitely be a flying carpet – obviously the first at sea!

There has been talk for a while that the California Adventure Park version is going to be replaced. It was supposed to close last year to make way for a Toy Story show but Disney changed it’s mind on that one. I certainly hope that it gets to stick around for some time to come, and particularly that it does not get replaced with a version of Toy Story The Musical. On a cruise on the Disney Wonder recently this was by far my least favorite show.

One of the things which makes the Aladdin show such a huge success is of course the Genie. I wonder if the amazing actor who has played him for so many years in this show (anyone know his name) is going to transfer to the Disney Fantasy. If the show has to stop at the park then I certainly hope that the Fantasy is taking the star of the show with her!

Disney Fantasy Launch Date Changes

Disney Cruise Line has just announced that the Maiden Voyage for Disney Fantasy will change from April 7th to a week earlier on March 31th 2012. Disney has taken this unusual step of changing a maiden voyage date based on an updated delivery date for the Disney Fantasy. It isn’t often that things as huge as a ship building project come in ahead of time!

What does this mean if you are already booked on the April 7th 2012 Disney Dream voyage. Either Disney or your travel agent will be contacting you and you will be offered first chance to re-book your on the new March 31 maiden voyage, in the same stateroom category and at the same rate as currently booked. You may also select to keep the original sail date or cancel the booking with no cancellation fees.

If you now want to book the Disney Fantasy Maiden voyage or the April 7th voyage then these dates are not going to be available for booking until all of the existing maiden voyage guests have been contacted. Disney Cruise line has asked for new bookings guests check back on or after Dec. 31, 2010, for pricing and availability.

The change in dates also has consequences for a Disney Magic sailing. the March 24 2012 sailing of the Disney Magic will change from a 7-night Eastern Caribbean itinerary to a 6-night Western Caribbean itinerary, featuring stops in Grand Cayman, Cozumel and Disney’s Castaway Cay. Disney Cruise does not seem to have announced that there will be a price adjustment but surely there must be as the cruise is reduced by one night.
