How do you get Disney World Military Discounts and what do they offer for both active and retired military personnel and their families? Disney World offers excellent military discounts for both hotels and tickets.

The Disney World Let The Memories Begin offers military discounts of up to 40% on Walt Disney World Hotels together with considerable savings on tickets for military families whether they are staying inside or outside Walt Disney World.

Disney World Tickets Military Discounts

There is a great discount ticket offer for 2011. Disney World is offering considerable discounts for military families who can purchase up to six Disney Military Promotional Tickets. This current offer is available up to September 28th 2011.

Who is eligible for the ticket discounts? Active or retired members of the U.S. military. This includes the National Guard, Reservists and the U.S. Coast Guard.

The Disney 4 Day Military Tickets with Park Hopper Option are $138.
A 4 Day Ticket with Water Parks Fun and More is also $138 (no park hopper). If you want a 4 day ticket offering Park Hopper, Water Parks Fun and More then this is just $165 each. All tickets prices exclude tax.

This is a great deal considering that the current price for an adult 4 day ticket with no park hopper is $239.63.

All tickets are of course non transferable (as with all Disney tickets) and must be used prior to 1st October 2011. There are a few black out dates of 17th April to 24th April 2011 for all parks, and July 4th 2011 for Magic Kingdom.

How do you buy a Disney World military discount ticket? Call 407-939-7830 or contact your participating U.S. military base ticket office. Or you can purchase then at the Disney World Shades of Green Resort Hotel and then you will not be charged tax.

In addition to the current 2011 offer discounts are always available on Disney World tickets if active military personnel are staying at Disney World Shades of Green Resort. These tickets are called the Magic Your Way Stars and Stripes Pass. These discounted tickets are only available for guests staying at Shades of Green or a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel. The discounts are not as generous as those offered in the Let The Memories Begin promotion but are more flexible as you can purchase anything from a 2 Day to a 10 Day Disney World ticket.

A third way to get military discount Disney tickets (and this is the only option for those staying offsite) is to make a mail order request by calling the Commander, Navy Region Southwest 619-767-6000 or Air Force Central Ticket Program at 210-652-2855. Again the tickets are discounted but not as heavily as the other two options.

Disney World Hotel Military Discounts

Shades of Green is an Armed Forces Recreation Center (AFRC) located close to Disney World. Shades of Green resort has recently been expanded and now includes 586 rooms all with either a balcony or private patio. The location is excellent and very close to Disney Magic Kingdom. The hotel was originally built as a deluxe Walt Disney World hotel but was later leased to the Department of Defense for their exclusive use.

The rates at Shades of Green are always the best deal of any Walt Disney World hotel. To make a reservation call 888-593-2242 between 9am and 5 pm EST.

Discounts are often available in the other Walt Disney World hotels too. Check online or call a Disney Authorized Travel Agent who will be able to assist you with the current offers available.

Each qualifying Military Service Member will get a FREE 5 Day Disney’s Armed Forces Salute Ticket with Park Hopper and Water Park Fun and More options. To get your free ticket just go to any Disney Guest Relations window with your military ID. So that is the most upgraded Disney World ticket for free!

And there is a great offer for up to 5 guests of the Military Service member who can buy the same 5 day ticket for $99 plus tax.  This $99 ticket is the basic ticket. But you can upgrade to a Park Hopper and/or Water Park Fun and More option for just $25 per person per option. This upgrade is a 50% saving on the usual price! To get the discounted tickets the entire party must be present when the tickets are purchasd. However a spouse and military dependants can buy with the discount without the service member being there if they can show proper ID.

If you want to save tax then you can purchase the Disney tickets at Shades of Green or a military base. You will be given a voucher to exchange for tickets at any Disney Guest Services window.

The tickets expire on 23rd December 2009 – you can’t add an non expiration option.

This great offer is available to all those on active duty in the US Army, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, National Guard or the Reserves as well as the retired military.  The National Guard and Reservists must have been active for any time between 1/1/08 and 12/23/09 to qualify for this offer.
