Disneyland Ride Closures September 2016

Whenever you visit Disneyland you need to know ahead of time which of the rides and attractions are closed for refurbishment. It is always a good idea to know this so you can plan ahead, particularly if you have children. It isn’t great to get to Disneyland and realize that your favorite ride is closed!

Here are the scheduled attractions and ride closures for Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure Park for September 2016.

Disneyland and Disney California Adventure Ride and Attraction Closures January 2015

  • Davy Crockett’s Explorer Canoes will be closed until 26 May 2017
  • Mark Twain Riverboat will next sail on 26 May 2017
  • Pirate’s Lair on Tom Sawyer Island will reopen on 26 May 2017
  • The Sailing Ship Columbia is grounded until 26 May 2017
  • The Disneyland Railroad is undergoing a major refurbishment and will not be open again until 26 May 2017
  • The Fantasmic show is dark until 26 May 2017
  • The Haunted Mansion will have it’s annual Nightmare Before Christmas makeover and will reopen on 9 September 2016.
  • The Disneyland Story presenting Great Moment with Mr Lincoln will reopen on 19 September 2016
  • Hyperspace Mountain will close on 6 September and reopen on 9 September 2016
  • Donald’s Boat in Toontown will close on 9 September and reopen on 19 September 2016
  • The Indiana Jones Adventure closes on 12 September until 15 September 2016
  • Disney’s California Adventure Closures September 2016

    The Little Mermaid – Ariel’s Undersea Adventure will be closed from 6 September to 29 September 2016

    The Hot Dog Hut will be closed from 6 September until 29 September 2016

    These are all of the scheduled refurbishments and closures at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure for September 2016. There will always be temporary closures of rides in the day, but these do not tend to last for long. These temporary shut downs are more likely to happen to rides with advanced technology and safety systems. For example California Screamin and Soarin sometimes experience down time. Generally the more complex the ride, the more likely there will be a short period of down time.
