Best Quick Service at Hollywood Studios

Sharing is caring!

Which is the best Quick Service at Hollywood Studios? You have many food options at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. If you don’t want to commit the time or the money to full-service dining, then Quick Service or Counter Service as it is often also called is the way to go.

Find out which Hollywood Studios Quick service venues are worth it.

Here are our suggestions for the best places to grab something to eat at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. We have them in order from Worst to Best.

PizzeRizzo at Hollywood Studios

Top Ratings Weren't Enough

This very generic and somewhat disappointing pizza venue is located just opposite the Muppets 3D. For many years this was the location for Pizza Planet, but when Toy Story Land came along the location just didn’t seem right for the theme.

Therefore the venue was re-themed and named after Rizzo the Rat. Now I can understand why we have rats in Ratatouille, but I really would have thought there were better Muppet character choices to be the inspiration for a restaurant.

The theming is pretty light and really could have been done better. But we could have got over that if the food had been good. However, it really isn’t. The pizza is not terrible, but it isn’t anything to go back for either. Lots of dough, often burnt crust and not enough sauce. You could say I’m not a fan!

The other entree option on the menu is the Sub. They have a meat and a plant based version.

Full marks for having a Vegan Sub available. I haven’t tried it yet, but would really like to. Disney World has moved on so much from when I first visited nearly 30 years ago. As a vegetarian, I remember choices used to be so limited. Now there is always at least one option on a menu.

On the positive side there is usually plenty of seating available and the food usually comes out pretty quickly.

Backlot Express

Backlot Express Restaurant - Disney's Hollywood Studios

This self proclaimed “Warehouse of Good Eating” has an interesting and well executed theme. This large area has plenty of seating.

However, make sure you look beyond the tables and spent some time looking at the props embedded into the design. Meant to evoke the feeling of a large open-air backlot, this Disney Hollywood Quick Service Restaurant, is a decent choice.

Think standard Disney theme park burgers and chicken options, and you will have a good idea about what the menu and eating experience are at the Backlot Express. It’s fine, but not stunning.

Prices on the Burgers range from $10.99 to $13.99. If you want fries with that as well this is an additional $4.49.

Backlot Express

A welcome addition to the Backlot Express Menu is the Star Wars-themed Tatooine Two Suns Hummus. This vegan option is well priced at $9.99 as the portion is generous, the food is tasty and the meal is quite filling.

Rosie’s All American Cafe

Rosie's All American Cafe

Rosie’s is located on Sunset Boulevard along with a number of other counter service dining options at Hollywood Studios. They share a common seating area and kind of blend into one. They are a good option as it is fairly easy to get very different types of food if people in your party can’t agree on one type of food they all want to eat!

Rosies’s offers a choice of burger, chicken nuggets and hot dogs. There is also a pretty decent Fried Green Tomato Sandwich.

Food is average, but if you want a quick eating option Rosie’s is fine.

Tower of Terror

Fairfax Fare and Catalina Eddie’s are in this same area, but aren’t open right now. Catalina Eddie’s has pizza which is not great, and salads which are fine. Fairfax Fare has Latino specialties such as Fajitas and Empanadas.

Woody’s Lunch Box

This is one of the newer Quick Service dining locations in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. A welcome addition, located in Toy Story Land, check before arriving as it has been closed temporarily.

Hopefully we will soon see the reopening of this location as it has some good options. Woody’s Lunch Box has some good breakfast options including a delicious, if calorie laden, French Toast Sandwich.

For lunch and dinner one of the best options is the Grilled Cheese Sandwich. At $8.99 it is a very reasonably priced meal. The Tomato Basil Soup goes really well with it and is $3.99.

The one downside with Woody’s Lunch Box is that it seems to be busy all the time. There really isn’t enough seating and you have to be careful to get somewhere in the shade.

ABC Commissary at Hollywood Studios

ABC Commissary

This Counter Service venue has been a favorite for many years. Consistently decent food, with some varied choices.

It’s a nice casual way to enjoy a quick lunch as you pass through the park from the Animation Courtyard to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

The ABC Commissary recently began taking evening reservations. Entrees on the new menu include Curry Rice Bowl with Shrimp or Tofu, Chicken Club, and Shrimp Tacos. Prices range from $9.99 to $18.29 for an entree.

It is a good place to escape the heat as it is an inside area. It is often crowded so try and arrive around 11 am or after 2pm if you can.

Ronto Roasters

Disneyland

The arrival of Galaxy’s Edge didn’t just provide us with more amazing ride and experience options. It gave us some great dining options! Ronto Roasters wins the second spot on our Best Quick Service at Hollywood Studios list.

Not only is Ronto Roasters brilliantly themed, it has some really good, if somewhat limited, food options.

Disneyland

It is lacking in vegetarian options for lunch and dinner, but the Rising Moons Overnight Oats are a good option if you are in Galaxy’s Edge at breakfast time.

Disneyland

Entrees available are the Ronto Wrap and the Galma Snack Sampler. Why not try these with a Coruscant Cooler? Or a Surly Sarlacc?

Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo – Best Quick Service at Hollywood Studios

Docking Bay 7

This new Galaxys’s Edge Quick Service dining venue is far and away our favorite. The themeing is amazing and the food choices are original.

The attention to detail and atmopshere in Docking Bay are something that you really have to experience at least once.

Docking Bay 7

Choose from a varitey of entrees including Batuuan Beef Pot Roast, Endorian Fried Chicken Tip Yip, Smoked Kaadu Pork Ribs, Roasted Endorian Chicken Salad.

Docking Bay 7

The plant based option is one of my favorite Disney World Counter Service entrees. Felucian Kefta and Hummus Garden Spread is a really tasty combination of Plant-based Meatballs, Herb Hummus, Tomato-Cucumber Relish, and Pita. If you want to share you can order additional Pita to make this a really good value option.
