Disneyland and Walt Disney World Annual Pass Price Rises

Sharing is caring!

Disneyland and Walt Disney World Annual Pass Price Rises

If you want a Disneyland Annual Pass with no blackout dates you will now have to pay more than $1000 for the privilege. It doesn’t seem like that long ago that $750 got you an Annual Pass which covered entry to Disneyland and Walt Disney World but those days are long gone.

Disneyland Annual Pass Price Increases

This is the second price rise this year which already saw some Disneyland annual pass prices go up by as much as 11%.

The Disneyland Signature Plus Annual Pass with no blackout dates will now cost $1049. This includes theme park parking, Disney PhotoPass downloads, 15% discount on dining and 20% on merchandise.

There will also be a new pass – the Disneyland Signature Pass which will offer the same benefits as the Signature Plus but will have blackout dates for 2 weeks around the Christmas Holidays which are 19th December 2015 to 2nd January 2016 inclusive

The Disney Deluxe Annual Passport is $599 and does not give free parking! So if you park at Disneyland, which really you have no choice unless you are paying for parking at an hotel, that is an additional $18 per visit. It has blackout dates and offers 10% of dining and select merchandise.

The Disney Southern California Select Pass is open only to southern California residents and costs $329. It has blackout dates and offers 10% of dining and select merchandise

All the Disneyland Annual Passes have an option to pay monthly after an initial deposit.

Disneyland used to encourage local visitors with what seem now like incredibly great deals for Southern California residents. But will almost 17 million people visiting Disneyland and 8.7 million visiting California Adventure it seems like Disney no longer wants to encourage the locals to pass through the gates.

Having been an Annual Passholder at Disneyland for almost 13 years and on and off at Disney World for 20 years these prices just sadden me. I will always love and visit Disney – and these prices I predict will do nothing to ease the crowds.

This is the second time this year Disneyland raised prices for annual passes. In February, Disney raised prices across the board by $3 for one-day, one-park tickets – now $99 a ticket – and raised some annual passes by 11 percent.

Walt Disney World Annual Pass Price Increase

There is also a new ticket structure at Walt Disney World for annual passes. There will now be the Silver, Gold, and Platinum Passes. The Florida Seasonal, Annual, Premium and Premium Plus Annual Passes are no longer available.

The Disney World Annual Silver Pass is $414.29 with these blockout dates:

December 17 to January 1st, March 19th to April 1st, June 6th to August 11th and December 16th to January 2nd of 2017.

The nearest equivalent to the Silver Pass used to cost $350.69

The Gold Pass is $584.69 and includes admission to all Disney World parks with these blockout dates:

December 17 to January 1st, March 19th to April 1st, and December 16th to January 2nd of 2017.

If you want no blackout dates then one choice is The Platinum Pass for $797.69 and is good every day of the year.

The Platinum Plus Pass is $882.89 and gives all year access to the 4 Walt Disney World Parks, Blizzard Beach, Typhoon Lagoon, ESPN Wide World of Sports admissions and Oak Trail gold course greens fees. The Platinum Pass also gives PhotoPass downloads. The closest equivalent used to sell for $696.51.

The cost of parking has also increased from $17 to $20 per day.

What really interests me is that the Walt Disney World Annual Pass with no blackout dates is $776 – significantly less than Disneyland. Yet Disneyland has some much less to attract the visitor. Perhaps it is the usual California premium – the people will pay so we will charge them. Maybe it’s the same idea as the gas prices which are always so much higher in California than Florida! And let’s not even think about how much the prices will go up as soon as the Star Wars Lands have been opened in both parks!

When are single and multi day Disney World and Disneyland tickets going to increase. Our money is on early November.

Will you be paying the increased prices for the Disneyland or Walt Disney World Annual Passes?
