Le Cellier Reservations

How do you get a reservation at Disney’s Le Cellier?

You do have a better chance if you stay at a Disney resort as you can book 60 days ahead for up to 10 days of your reservation.

This effectively gives you up to a 10-day head start on no Disney hotel resort guests and is one of the reasons to book at a resort hotel.

Epcot Le Cellier has long been known as one of the best restaurants in Epcot and gained a reputation for being very very difficult to get a reservation.

It took me many attempts before one day when I simply decided to see if I could get a ‘walk-in’ reservation at lunch and hit lucky.

So even if you don’t plan ahead to get a reservation at Le Cellier, it is sometimes worth asking when you arrive.

Just don’t rely on it – and have a backup plan!

Le Cellier is still one of the most difficult reservations to get a Walt Disney World.

Why is it always so difficult to get a reservation at Le Cellier restaurant?

Not only the good reputation and serving a popular type of cuisine.

But also the simple fact that it just isn’t very big!

Epcot Le Cellier is one of the smaller restaurants in Walt Disney World, so it just can’t accommodate many diners.

Epcot Le Cellier Restaurant

Le Cellier translated means, yes you guessed it, The Cellar.

If you didn’t know the restaurant was there you could walk past the entrance without noticing it.

Le Cellier is located below the Chateau in the Canadian Pavilion. There are no windows in this small restaurant and it is designed to look just like a wine cellar.

In 2011 Le Cellier was designated a Signature Dining Restaurant so requires two Dining Credits for dinner if you are on the Dining Plan.

You always have to think very carefully about whether a Signature Dining Restaurant is worth the two credits if you are on the Disney Dining Plan.

Right now of course the Disney Dining Plan is not operating, but we actually think that is a good thing so that you can think of ways to try not to spend quite so much money when you dine here.

However, we do know that the Disney Dining Plan is coming back in January 2024.

Is Epcot Le Cellier really that good?

Many now feel that it falls a little short of the mark, particularly on service.

However, for me, the standard of the food and service just wasn’t as high as the other top restaurants in Walt Disney World.

But, Epcot diners consistently rate the food very highly, and most give Epcot Le Cellier Restaurant great reviews.

It is a while since I have dined here and I look forward to giving it another chance in the near future.

Epcot Le Cellier is a Signature Dining Restaurant and as such is one of the more expensive restaurants on Disney property.

It used to be that you could save money by having an Epcot Le Cellier lunch.

However, the rule that lunch is cheaper than dinner at Walt Disney World restaurants is long over. The Le Cellier lunch and dinner menus are the same and have identical pricing.

Epcot Le Cellier Dining Without Breaking the Bank

Many people do think that Epcot Le Cellier is worth it for the steak, the location, and the ambiance. However, when the Dining Plan is operating it will cost you two Dining Credits.

Should you use the Dining Plan, when available, or just opt for out-of-pocket?

We think that you should definitely consider just paying out of pocket. 2 Dining Credits are better spent elsewhere as other than the steak entrees there is nothing here that is worth the upgrade.

So what should your tactic be to save money? Opt for the steak if that is your thing, but miss out on either, or perhaps even both, appetizer and dessert.

It is very easy to find a nice dessert within walking distance in World Showcase at one of the many quick dining locations.

Arguably the desserts available in the French Pavilion are much better and half the price that you will pay in Le Cellier.

You can even walk off a few of the calories of your entree before embarking on dessert.

Never use Dining Credits here (or indeed at any other Disney World Signature Restaurant) if you are vegetarian or vegan.

Whilst it is great that Disney World restaurants offer excellent plant-based options, they are usually very much cheaper than the meat or fish-based items on the menu.

For example, if you used a Dining Credit for a Steak at Le Cellier this will be up to a $62 value.

The Plant-Based option of Tourtière is $36.

That is a huge price difference that you really need to take into account if you are using the Dining Plan.
