Sharing is caring!

A list of all the attractions in Magic Kingdom at Disney World and everything you need to know about them. We’ll go land-by-land, discussing each attraction within it.

Sit back and enjoy the best guide to all the Magic Kingdom Rides.

Main Street Vehicles (Temporarily Closed)

disney magic kingdom main street vehicles

Take a tour on an omnibus, jitney, fire engine, or horse-drawn trolley down Main Street U.S.A., where you’ll see nearly all the sights it has to offer.

You can find this station right in front of the main entrance to the Magic Kingdom.

This transportation service saves a bit of walking through Main Street U.S.A. You’ll want to take advantage of this, as you’ll be doing a lot of walking around the rest of the park!

There are two stations, one at Town Square near the Walt Disney World Railroad Station, the other near Cinderella’s Castle.

  • No height requirement
  • Slow ride
  • All ages can enjoy
  • Must transfer from wheelchair/ECV
  • Not available during parades or fireworks

Walt Disney World Railroad – Main Street Station (Temporarily Closed)

disneymagickingdomrailroad

A circle-round tour around the entire Magic Kingdom park in a vintage steam-train. You’ll even get a peek into Splash Mountain.

This is a very convenient way to get around the park, as you can get on and off at any of the stations throughout the park. Or, you could take a full-round tour of the park and not get off. You can stay on as long as you like (that is, until it closes)!

  • No height requirement
  • Slow ride
  • All ages can enjoy
  • Rental strollers cannot be taken on the attraction

Tomorrowland

Magic Kingdom Rides Astro Orbiter

Fly your own rocket-ship and orbit around a variety of planets, where you’ll also get some great views over Tomorrowland.

This is similar to Dumbo The Flying Elephant, just with a sci-fi theme instead.

The best time to ride is at night, when all the lights are on in Tomorrowland.

This a fun attraction, but it’s not worth the long wait it usually has. If you want to ride an attraction like this with a shorter wait, try Magic Carpets of Aladdin or Dumbo’s Flying Elephants.

  • No height requirement
  • Slow ride
  • All ages can enjoy
  • Spins
  • Two passengers per rocket
  • Must transfer from ECV/wheelchair

Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin

magic kingdom rides buzz lightyear

Buzz Lightyear from the Toy Story movies enlists you to help him defeat Emperor Zurg and destroy his secret weapon in an epic space battle.

You’ll use your onboard lasers to shoot at Zurg and his alien minions, then at the end you can compare your score with your opponent to see who won!

Imagine an arcade game combined with a theme park attraction. This is a ride at Magic Kingdom you don’t want to miss.

  • No height requirement
  • Slow ride
  • All ages can enjoy
  • Spins, but only if you want it to, as you control the orientation of the vehicle
  • Two passengers per ride vehicle
  • Transfer to wheelchair
  • Audio description and handheld captioning available
  • Has moving walkway to board attraction
  • Takes on-ride picture at the finale where Buzz and the Little Green Men are tearing apart Zurg’s secret weapon

Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor

monsteersinclaughfloormagickingdom

Monsters Inc. have converted from getting their power from screams to laughter, so Mike Wazowski has opened up a comedy club to the public to try and get some laughs.

The audience plays a big part in the show as the characters interact with them. What’s great about this show is they change up the jokes frequently, so pretty much every time you watch it they’ll be something new.

You can also text jokes while you’re waiting in line and they might even use them in the show (texting rates may apply)!

  • No height requirement
  • Sit down interactive show
  • Any age group will enjoy this
  • Can stay in wheelchair/ECV
  • Sign language, video captioning, and assistive listening

Disney Magic Kingdom Space Mountain

magickingdomspacemountain
Magic Kingdom rides space mountain

A fan favorite, Space Mountain is a high-speed roller coaster through the depths of space, complete with asteroids, stars, planets, space tunnels, and big, steep drops.

This is one of those not to be missed Magic Kingdom Rides.

This ride is perfect for roller coaster and sci-fi fans alike. It’s the most thrilling and intense rides at the park, mainly because the ride is in near complete darkness. Plus, those drops are really steep! This roller coaster is not for the faint of heart.

Keep in mind that while the ride is very thrilling, the ride is very rough and bumpy.

Sci-fi fans will adore the, 2001: A Space Odysessy classic sci-fi inspired theming of the attraction. The exit of this attraction is a moving walkway through space diharamas.

  • Height requirement: 44″ (112 cm)
  • Thrill ride, roller coaster
  • Kids, tweens, teens, and adults can enjoy this attraction
  • Transfer to standard wheelchair
  • There are two tracks, but each has the same layout
  • Takes an on-ride picture right after you exit the blue space tunnel

Tomorrowland Speedway at Magic Kingdom

tomorrowlandspeedwaymagickingdom
A Rainy Day At Disney’s Magic Kingdom!

Drive your very own race car around the beautiful Tomorrowland Speedway track.

Each race car has one driver and one passenger. People at least 54″ (137 cm) can drive their own car. Those who are at least 32″ (81 cm) can drive their own car, but they have to accompanied by someone who’s at least 54″ (137 cm) tall.

This is just my opinion, but out of all the Magic Kingdom rides, this is one of the worst. The cars are on a track so you don’t have much freedom, the cars move slowly, the track barely has any variety, there’s not much to look at, and it’s short.

While little kids will like it, I doubt many people in other age groups will.

  • Height requirement: 32″ (81 cm)
  • Little kids will enjoy Tomorrowland Speedway
  • Slow ride
  • Transfer from ECV/wheelchair

Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover

magickingdomridestransitauthority

A futuristic elevated tram tour over Tomorrowland. Not only will you get some great views of the park, but you’ll get a peak into some of the Tomorrowland rides, such as Buzz Lightyear Spin and Space Mountain.

Like Carousel Of Progress, Tomorrowland Transit usually has a short wait, and is a great Magic Kingdom ride if you need a break. Though in my opinion, this is a much better ride as it’s much less dated and there’s lots more interesting sights to look at.

  • No height requirement
  • Slow ride
  • Moving walkway to board the attraction
  • All ages can enjoy this ride
  • Have to be ambulatory
  • Audio description and closed captioning available

Walt Disney’s Carousel Of Progress

carouselofprogressmagickingdom

Carousel of Progress is a one-of-a-kind journey showing how technology has advanced over the 20th century. This show uses a rotational theater, where the seats revolve around the stage, showing you different time period with each rotation.

The show centers around one family and how their lives are getting better and better as the technology improves.

Wait times are usually short for this attraction. It’s a great place to get a rest, with its air-contitioned theater. Otherwise, there isn’t much reason to visit this attraction, unless your a huge Walt Disney fan and you want to see one of his last passion projects.

  • No height requirement
  • A show, where the seats move slowly every few minutes
  • All ages can enjoy
  • Can remain in wheelchair/ECV
  • Audio description, video captioning, handheld captioning, assistive listening and language translation devices are available

Take flight in a stunt airplane with Goofy and soar over Storybook Circus on this roller coaster that’s perfect for small children.

This is one of the Magic Kingdom rides which is targeted at the younger guest.

There’s not much for tweens, teens and adults in this attraction, but it’s a great starter coaster for little kids.

  • Height requirement: at least 35″ (89 cm)
  • Kiddy roller coaster with small drops
  • Toddlers will love this attraction
  • Have to transfer from wheelchair/ECV

Casey Jr. Splash ‘N’ Soak Station

  • No height restrictions
  • Water play area
  • Small children will enjoy this
  • You can remain in ECV/wheelchair

Dumbo The Flying Elephant

Soar high above the ground on the back of the famous Dumbo the Flying Elephant. This is one of the most popular Magic Kingdom Rides.

Fly low or high – it’s up to you, you’re in control!

This ride is unique in that there isn’t a queue. Instead, you get a pager, and wait in an air-conditioned circus tent with a play area for children, then once it’s your turn to ride, your pager goes off, and you go ride the attraction.

  • No height requirement
  • Slow, spinning ride
  • All ages can enjoy this ride
  • Have to transfer from wheelchair/ECV
  • Two passengers per flying elephant

Enchanted Tales With Belle

Step inside Belle and Maurice’s cottage from Beauty and the Beast, then go through a magic mirror and get transported to the Beast’s castle.

There, if you want, you can use props to tell the story of Beauty and the Beast. You’ll meet Lumiere, the Enchanted Wardrobe, and Belle, who you can take photos with.

This is great for little kids and their parents, but others might just see it as a glorified meet & greet. The effects are impressive and if you’re a huge fan of Beauty and the Beast, you’ll enjoy stepping into some of the locations from the movie.

A better Beauty and the Beast experience though would be the Be Our Guest restaurant.

  • No height requirement
  • Walkthrough experience, meet and greet
  • All ages can enjoy, though tweens, teens, and adults probably won’t get much out of it
  • Have to transfer to wheelchair
  • Audio description, handheld captioning, and assistive listening available

It’s A Small World

itsasmallworldmagickingdomrides

Cruise all over the world as the children of the world sing the iconic anthem of peace, “It’s A Small World (After All).”

Disney fans either love or hate this attraction, but no matter what, it’s worth riding this classic at least once!

  • No height requirement
  • Slow-moving boat ride
  • All ages can enjoy this
  • Have to transfer to a wheelchair
  • Audio captioning and handheld captioning available

Mad Tea Party – Classic Magic Kingdom Rides

best magic kingdom rides

Based on the iconic tea party scene from the Disney classic Alice In Wonderland, spin around as fast you can in a massive teacup. Spin as fast or as slowly as you want, as you’re in control.

The tamest experience would be letting go of the spinning wheel and letting the giant turntable spin you around.

See if you can spot the Dormouse poking out the big teapot in the center!

  • No height requirement
  • Spinning ride
  • All ages can enjoy this ride
  • Have to transfer from ECV/Wheelchair

The Many Adventures Of Winnie The Pooh

themanyadventuresofwinniethepoohmagickingdom

Go on an adventure with Pooh and his friends through the Hundred Acre Woods. You’ll be immersed into some of the most memorable scenes from the movie, Winnie The Pooh, such as Pooh’s bizarre dream with the Heffalumps.

This is a classic Disney Fantasyland dark ride, where you live out some of the scenes from a classic Disney movie. Something that make this one extra special is the rocking ride vehicle.

The Many Adventures Of Winnie The Pooh can have a long wait, but there are some interactice games in the line to keep you entertained.

This is definitely one of those Magic Kingdom Rides that you must experience if you have young children.

  • No height requirement
  • Slow ride
  • All ages can enjoy this ride
  • Have to transfer to a Wheelchair
  • Audio description and handheld captioning

Mickey’s PhilharMagic

mickeysphilarmagic

A 12-minute, 3D show immersing you into some of the most iconic Disney movie moments, such as “You Can Fly” from Peter Pan and “Be Our Guest” from Beauty And The Beast.

There are also a few, family-friendly 4D special effect, like splashes of water.

If you want a rest, Mickey’s Philhar Magic. Kids will really enjoy it, but other age groups may find the 3D effects a little dated. If you can get past the dodgy 3D effects though, the show is very good!

  • No height requirement
  • 3D Show
  • All ages can enjoy this attraction
  • Can remain in ECV/Wheelchair
  • Audio description, reflective captioning, and assistive listening are all available
  • The show runs continuously throughout the day

Peter Pan’s Flight

Flying Over London on Peter Pan’s Flight

Soar over London and Neverland in a flying pirate ship with Peter Pan and live out the iconic scenes from the movie.

The line can be ridiculously long, but it’s worth riding at least once on your trip. And the queue has many interactive elements to it, so you should be able to keep yourself entertained as you wait.

  • No height requirement
  • All ages can enjoy this ride
  • Slow ride
  • Must be ambulatory
  • Audio description and handheld captioning available
  • Slow-moving walkway to get on the attraction

Prince Charming Regal Carrousel

princecharmingcarouselmagickingdom

The iconic Fantasyland carrousel, choose from 90 horses, each unique in their own way, and gallop around Fantasyland.

You have to ride this at least once your lifetime. It’s a true Disney World classic.

You don’t want to ride on a horse, you can sit on one of the benches on the carrousel or you can stand up and hold onto the handrail.

  • No height requirement
  • Slow, spinning
  • All ages can enjoy this ride
  • Have to transfer to wheelchair

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

magickingdomridessevendwarvesminetrain

Based on Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, speed through the Seven Dwarfs diamond mine on a swinging mine train.

This is a perfect family roller coaster. It’s more thrilling than The Barnstormer, but not quite as intense as Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, so it’s a perfect inbetween.

The lines are long, but they do have some interactive games scattered in the line, making the waiting more fun.

  • Height requirement: at least 38″ (97 cm).
  • Family roller coaster, with small drops and sharp turns
  • Kids, tweens, teens, and adults will enjoy this ride
  • Have to transfer from ECV/wheelchair

Under The Sea – Journey Of The Little Mermaid

undertheseawiththelittlemermaid

Dive under the sea with Ariel in a clamshell and live out the events of The Little Mermaid. You’ll see Sebastian, Prince Eric, Flounder, Ursula, as well as many of the other characters from the movie.

If you’re a fan of The Little Mermaid, this a must-do. However, if you’re not a fan, besides seeing some very impressive audio animatronics, this ride doesn’t have much to offer.

  • No height requirement
  • Slow ride
  • Anyone of any age can enjoy this, though teens might not get much out of it
  • Slow-moving walkway to board attraction
  • Transfer to wheelchair
  • Audio description and handheld captioning

Walt Disney World Railroad – Fantasyland

magickingdomrailroad

A circle-round tour around the entire Magic Kingdom park in a vintage steam-train. You’ll even get a peek into Splash Mountain.

You can find this station between The Barnstormer and Casey Jr. Splash ‘N’ Soak Station.

This is a very convenient way to get around the park, as you can get on and off at any of the stations throughout the park. Or, you could take a full-round tour of the park and not get off. You can stay on as long as you like (that is, until it closes).

  • No height requirement
  • Slow ride
  • All ages can enjoy
  • Rental strollers cannot be taken on the attraction

Liberty Square

The Haunted Mansion

disneymagickingdomrideshanuntedmansion

A spooky tour through the Haunted Mansion, the home of 999 happy haunts. Guided by the Ghost Host, you’ll visit the a ballroom full of dancing ghosts, an endless hallway, stairs to nowhere, the attic where the Black Widow Bride resides, as well as many other ghostly rooms.

This is one of the best rides at Magic Kingdom, and one of my personal favorites. Part of the reason why is it balances horror movies elements with light-hearted, cute Disney storytelling.

Horror fans will adore the gothic, spooky atmosphere, while families will love the light-hearted characters and jokes.

It’s an incredibly immersive ride and the theming is meticulously detailed – it’s truly one of Disney’s best attractions.

Some might be asking “how scary is this attraction?” It’s dark and it has some creepy imagery (not gory though), but that’s about it. I wouldn’t say this is a “scary” ride, it’s just spooky.

You’ll get chills, but it’s probably not going to scare your pants off.

It’s Disney, so it’s a family-friendly ride. However, small children might find this too scary, depending on the child.

  • No height restriction
  • Slow ride
  • All ages can enjoy, though small children might get scared
  • Have to transfer from ECV/wheelchair
  • Audio description, handheld captioning, and language translation devices
  • Moving walkway to board

Liberty Square Riverboat

Disney magic Kingdom liberty square boat

A 17-minute Colonial-era cruise around the Rivers of America on a riverboat. Mark Twain narrates the trip where you can see a Native-American village, a fort, woodland animals, and much more.

If you need a break, take a trip on the Liberty Square Riverboat. It’s a relaxing experience and there’s plenty of sights to see as you’re sailing the Rivers of America.

  • No height requirement
  • Slow riverboat ride
  • All ages can enjoy this attraction
  • Can remain in ECV/wheelchair

Disney’s Hall Of Presidents

thehallofpresidentsmagickingdom

A 25-minute show celebrating America’s presidential history. The grand finale is showcase of audio animatronics of each every U.S. president, including a speech from the current U.S. president.

In my opinion, this is one of the weaker attractions at Magic Kingdom. The audio-animatronics and the theater are very impressive, and the show itself pretty good.

However, while in other attractions you can explore the depths of space, ride a runaway mine train, or live out a fairy tail, this is just a history show, albeit, a very good history show.

I’m not saying to skip this attraction, but if you’re only at Magic Kingdom for a day, there are much better attractions to check out.

  • No height requirement
  • Theater show
  • All ages can enjoy
  • Can remain in ECV/wheelchair
  • Assistive listening

Frontierland

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad – Best Magic Kingdom Rides

disney big thunder mountain
Big Thunder Mountain at Disney’s Magic Kingdom

A wild-west runaway minetrain around Big Thunder Mountain, complete with twists, turns, drops, and a few critter here and there.

This is the perfect family roller coaster. It’s not so intense that little kids can’t enjoy it, but not so tame that adults would find it boring.

As for how intense it is, it’s somewhere between Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Space Mountain. The roller coaster can be a little rough and the drops lift you off your seat.

There are a few moments in the dark and a few bats, though they look pretty fake.

  • Height requirement: at least 40″ (102 cm)
  • Roller coaster
  • Kids, tweens, teens and adult will enjoy this roller coaster
  • Have to transfer from ECV/wheelchair

Country Bear Jamboree

countrbearjamboreemagickingdom

Country Bear Jamboree is a stage show featuring bears singing country music. There’s jokes, cute bear animatronics, and much more in this one of a kind show.

This is a great time for country music lovers and those who love vintage Disney attractions. Other than that, this attraction have much to offer. It’s dated and to be honest, a bit creepy.

To those wanting to get out of the sun and sit in the air-contioning, this is the place to go if you’re in Frontierland.

  • No height requirement
  • Sit down show
  • All ages can enjoy this attraction
  • Can remain in ECV/wheelchair
  • Reflective captioning and assistive listening available

Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade

An arcade shooting gallery with a western desert landscape backdrop.

They aren’t real guns and don’t fire any projectiles. They’re fake guns with lasers at the end of them.

Keep in mind there is a small fee to play this game, usually around $1.

  • No height requirement
  • Shooting arcade game
  • All ages can enjoy this attraction
  • Can remain in ECV/wheelchair

Magic Kingdom Rides – Splash Mountain

magickingdomridessplashmountain

Coast along the bayou in a log flume with Br’er Rabbit on his journey to find The Laughing Place. Watch out for Br’er Fox and Br’er Bear, as they want to send you and Br’er Rabbit down the Briar Patch. This all ends in a climatic 5-story plunge into water.

Thrill seekers will love Splash Mountain. There are three drops, including one in complete darkness.

If you don’t want to get wet, ask the Cast Member at the end of the line if you can have the back row. The first few rows will get soaked.

Lockers are located near the main entrance, available to guests who want to protect their personal items

Soon this will turn into a Princess & The Frog attraction, so ride it as soon as you can before it closes!

  • Height requirement: at least 40″ (102 cm)
  • Log flume, thrill ride
  • Kids, tweens, teen and adults will love this ride
  • You have to transfer from ECV/wheelchair

Tom Sawyer Island

tomsawyerisland

Go on your very own adventure on Tom Sawyer Island. Explore a labyrinth of mining caves and a frontier fort.

To get here, you must board a raft in Frontierland and sail over.

If you’re only in Magic Kingdom for a day, I’d say prioritize riding the other attractions first. But if you’re there for a few days, this is definitely worth a visit.

It’s lots of fun exploring the caves and it feels like you’re going on adventure.

  • No height requirement
  • Walk-through, exploration
  • All ages can enjoy
  • Have to be ambulatory

Adventureland

Jungle Cruise

magickingdomridesjunglecruise

Jungle Cruise is a 10-minute boat tour in the jungles of Asia, Africa and South America, hosted by your skipper with a massive collection of jokes and puns.

There are gorillas, snakes, hippos, majestic waterfalls, ancient temples, and much more in the world famous Jungle Cruise.

This is a great ride for adventurers. It has an early 20th century adventure movie feel to it, and it truly feels like you’re out in the middle of the jungle.

What really adds to the experience is the skippers, played by Cast Members. Some aren’t so good, but if you get one that’s really into it and is funny, it makes the ride ten times better.

  • No height requirement
  • Slow boat ride
  • All ages can enjoy
  • Can remain in ECV/wheelchair
  • Sign language, assistive listening, and language translation devices are available

The Magic Carpets Of Aladdin

disneymagickingdomridesmagiccarpetalladin

Take a ride in your very own magic carpet and fly over Adventureland with The Magic Carpets of Aladdin.

Similar to Astro Orbiter and Dumbo The Flying Elephant, you’re in control and can fly as high or low as you want, and if you’re in the back, you can tip the carpet forward or backward.

This is pretty much the same as Dumbo the Flying Elephant, except it can take more passengers and it’s themed to the movie Aladdin. Neither is particularly better than the other – it’s up to personal preference.

  • No height requirement
  • Slow, spinning ride
  • All ages can enjoy this ride
  • Have to transfer to wheelchair

Pirates Of The Caribbean – Classic Magic Kingdom Rides

piratesofthcaribbeanmagickingdom

A slow-moving boat ride (with a drop) taking you to the Caribbean during the golden age of piracy. You’ll journey through a haunted cave, find yourself caught in a pirate ship battle, sail through a town being raided by pirates, and much more.

Pirates of the Caribbean is a ride you can’t miss if you’re going to Magic Kingdom. It’s one of the most immersive theme park attractions in the world.

The sets are gigantic and meticulously detailed, making you feel like you’ve traveled back in time.

Some small children might find the skeletons in the cave a little scary. They don’t move though and stay far away from the boat.

  • No height requirement
  • Slow moving boat ride with a small drop
  • All ages can enjoy this ride
  • Have to transfer to wheelchair
  • Audio description and handheld captioning available

Swiss Family Treehouse

swissfamilytreehousedisneymagickingdom

Explore the treehouse the Swiss Family Robinson built. See their living quarters, cross rope bridges, discover the ingenious contraptions they built, and more in the Swiss Family Treehouse.

This attraction offers one of the best views of the Magic Kingdom you can find. You can see Adventureland, Cinderella Castle, and part of the Jungle Cruise River at the summit of the treehouse.

Unfortunately, that’s pretty all this attraction has to offer. Most of it is walking up stairs and looking at sets from a movie I’ve never even heard of. And the sets themselves aren’t very interesting to look at anyway.

It’s worth checking out the views at least once, but again, there isn’t much else to this attraction.

  • No height requirement
  • Walkthrough
  • All ages can enjoy this attraction
  • Have to be ambulatory
  • Keep in mind there are lots and lots of stairs with no elevator or escalator

Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room

Sing along with parrots, flowers, and tiki statues in the one-of-a-kind Enchanted Tiki Room music spectacular.

This is ideal for when you need to slow down. It’s air-conditioned and has some nice tropical vibes to it.

The show itself is very cute and feels very Disney. And don’t worry, I know I said “sing along” in the description, but you don’t have to sing. Otherwise, I’d be leaving a much more negative review of the show.

  • No height requirement
  • Sit down show
  • All ages can enjoy
  • Can remain in wheelchair/ECV
  • Audio description, handheld captioning, and assistive listening are available

Which one of these is your favorite of all the Magic Kingdom Rides?
