Disney’s Animal Kingdom

The very popular Festival of the Lion King in Animal Kingdom will close January 5, 2014 for renovation. It is thought that the she will be closed for around 6 months so that takes us well into the summer. The extensive renovation will mean moving the show completely to a new location for the theater in the Africa part of Animal Kingdom.

Disney’s Magic Kingdom

Splash Mountain is closed from 6th January to 21st March 2014. This will likely mean that lines for Big Thunder Mountain are longer than usual as this is in the same area – people tend to go to that area and find Splash Mountain closed so will then stand in line for Big Thunder Mountain.

Tomorrowland Speedway closes on 6th January and reopens on 12th January 2014

Casey’s Corner will close on 6th January until 15th February.

Agrabar Bazaar closes on 6th January until 2nd February.

Liberty Square Riverboat will be closed from 21st to 30th January

The Magic Carpets of Aladdin will be closed from 13th to 16th January.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios Closures January 2014

Fortunately the closures are pretty light at Disney’s Hollywood Studios during January 2014. The only scheduled closure is Monsters Inc. Meet & Greet closed from 15th January to 19th January 2014.

Epcot

The good news is there are no scheduled rehabs or closures in Epcot during January 2014.

Blizzard Beach

Blizzard Beach will close on December 22nd and remain closed in January 2014. The alternative water park at Typhoon Lagoon will still be open at this time.

Remember that these are scheduled closures and rehabs known at this time for January 2014. Rides can close, usually briefly, for unscheduled stops. Guests who love attractions like Test Track in Epcot know this very well!
