Walt Disney World Tickets Price Increase

Effective today is another Walt Disney World ticket price increase. This was somewhat unexpected as historically prices would have been expected to rise in June. The price increase is effective today, 23rd February and the price increases are across the board – from single, to multi day tickets and Disney World annual passes.

The price of a single ticket for adults to Magic Kingdom is now $99 plus tax for adults and children aged 10 and up. The price for Epcot, Disney Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom increases by $4 to $94 for a single day adult ticket.

Disney spokesman Bryan Malenius said the prices reflected “the high quality and breadth of experiences we offer.”

“We offer a variety of ticket options that provide a great value, and find that most guests select multi-day tickets that offer additional savings,” he said.

Prices have increased at a very quick pace at Disney World for the last 5 years. Just 5 years ago a one day ticket for any of the parks cost $65 for adults. Now the price is only just under the $100 mark – many see this as just too high a price to pay for a theme park ticket.

But based on our recent visit guests are not being deterred by the price of Disney World tickets. Of course Disney has very complex ways to decide just how much of a price hike the market can stand and certainly park attendance shows now sings of dropping. On the contrary, more and more guests are visiting Walt Disney World.

What do you think of the price rise for Disney World tickets? Will this put you off from visiting?
