Is the Scat Cat Lounge the Purr-fect Bar on Disney Treasure?

It certainly sounded like a bit of a challenge.

Can we have a lounge bar on Disney Treasure that is themed around the 1970 Walt Disney Animation Studios classic, “The Aristocats,” , but make sure that it fits in with the overall Aladdin/Jasmine/Agrabah theme from the Grand Hall.

Not an easy brief, but as usual The Imagineers excelled themselves.

The Scat Cat Lounge is just gorgeous.

Let’s take a look at the interior, and of course, the drinks menu!

Comfy seating, striking design, great music and obviously, some very interesting cocktails make this one of the many beautiful spaces on Disney Treasure. This is a great place to sit, relax and enjoy a drink whilst listening to some great piano music.

For those familiar with Disney Wish this venue is in the location that The Nightingale Bar takes on that ship. I remember the very first time that I sailed on Disney Wish, I only discovered this bar later on in the cruise, but it became one of my favorites of all of the ships.

And Scat Cat Lounge is a favorite too.

These were the nine design secrets that DCL highlighted as awaiting guests at Scat Cat Lounge.

A Familiar Looking Carpet: Enthusiasts of “The Aristocats” will instantly recognize the carpet inside Scat Cat Lounge, which draws inspiration from the intricate French-style rugs seen throughout Madame Adelaide Bonfamille’s elegant Parisian home.

Inspired by Agrabah: Situated just off the Grand Hall, Scat Cat Lounge incorporates design elements from the Grand Hall’s Agrabah-inspired architecture, using a complementary color scheme and Middle Eastern décor that harmonizes perfectly with the venue’s overall theme.

Caution – Wet Paint: The whimsical scene from “The Aristocats” where Toulouse leaves his paint-covered paw mark on the piano is echoed in Scat Cat Lounge, featuring colorful prints adorning the piano.

Double Delicious Craft Cocktails: Scat Cat Lounge offers a unique menu of cocktails celebrating “The Aristocats,” including the Créme de la Créme Martini and The Cat Drink.

The Cats Go Marching: Guests are greeted by a parade of silhouetted cats at the entrance of Scat Cat Lounge, each representing characters from the film, guiding them into the venue.

Scat Cat’s Horn: The “The Aristocats” theme starts right at the front door of the lounge, featuring a sculpted handle that mimics Scat Cat’s iconic instrument.

Hidden Characters: While Hidden Mickeys are a staple of Walt Disney Imagineering designs, Scat Cat Lounge features hidden depictions of Roquefort, the loyal mouse companion of Duchess and her kittens.

An Ode to Music: A striking black and white-striped wall runs through the center of the venue, showcasing a vibrant neon sign with the lyrics, “Ev’rybody Wants to be A Cat.” This wall, reminiscent of piano keys, pays tribute to the pivotal role of music in the film.

The Cats Behind the Magic: At first glance, the funky poster hanging outside Scat Cat Lounge might seem ordinary. However, the collage of instrument-playing cats holds a secret: each cat in the artwork is modeled after a beloved pet of someone from the project team that designed and built Scat Cat Lounge.
