Disney Cruise Line Alcohol Policy 2026 – What You Can (And Can’t) Bring Onboard

Sharing is caring!

If you’re wondering “Can you bring alcohol on a Disney Cruise?” the answer is yes — but the rules have changed.

Disney Cruise Line has introduced a new alcohol policy, and the allowance is now more limited than in previous years.

Before you pack that bottle of wine in your suitcase, here is exactly what the current Disney Cruise Line alcohol policy allows — and what will be confiscated.

Can you bring wine or beer on a Disney Cruise? The 2026 alcohol policy has changed. Here’s exactly what’s allowed — and what gets confiscated.

Disney Cruise Line Alcohol Policy (Updated 2026)

Guests may bring a limited amount of alcohol onboard at the beginning of the voyage only.

Who Is Eligible?

  • Guests 21 years and older on cruises departing North America
  • Guests 18 years and older on round?trip cruises from Singapore

Note that there is no separate policy for Europe at this time – even though the drinking age is 18, the DCL website only mentions round trip from Singapore being the exception to the 21 years and older rule.

How Much Alcohol Can You Bring?

Each eligible guest may bring:

  • One unopened bottle of wine or sparkling wine (750 ml maximum)
    OR
  • Six beers (12 oz maximum each)

That’s it.

Anything over this limit must be discarded before boarding. No compensation will be offered. If will be confiscated by security.

Important Packing Rules (Read This Carefully)

This is where many guests make mistakes.

Alcohol must be packed in carry-on luggage only
Alcohol in checked bags will be removed and discarded
No compensation will be provided

Disney specifically warns that beverage containers packed in checked luggage have caused damage to belongings. Broken bottles are messy — and you won’t get reimbursed.

All alcohol must:

  • Be in its original, unopened container
  • Have the seal intact
  • Not be partially consumed

Opened or resealed bottles are prohibited.

Hard liquor and spirits are not allowed.

Can You Drink Your Wine in the Dining Room?

Yes — but there is now a $20 USD corkage fee per bottle if you bring your own wine or sparkling wine into one of the main dining rooms.

This is a reduction from the previous $29 fee.

Alcohol brought onboard:

  • May not be consumed in lounges
  • May not be consumed in public areas
  • Is intended for consumption in your stateroom only

What Happens If You Buy Alcohol in Port?

This is another area where confusion happens.

All alcohol purchased in ports of call — including:

  • Liquor
  • Spirits
  • Wine
  • Beer

Will be collected when you return to the ship and stored until the end of the cruise.

You will retrieve it on disembarkation day.

If you do not collect it, it will be discarded.

The same rule applies to alcohol purchased in onboard duty?free shops.

What Changed? (Old vs. New Disney Cruise Alcohol Policy)

If you’ve cruised with Disney before, here’s what’s different:

Previous Policy:

  • Allowed two bottles of wine per guest at embarkation
  • More flexibility overall
  • Corkage fee was higher in recent years ($29)
  • Some sailings allowed bringing alcohol onboard at ports within allowance

New Policy:

  • Now limited to one bottle of wine per guest
  • Six beers still allowed
  • Clear enforcement of carry?on only
  • $20 corkage fee per bottle
  • All alcohol purchased in port is held until disembarkation
  • Alcohol you bring cannot be consumed in public areas

This is a noticeable tightening of the rules compared to previous years.

Does Disney Cruise Line Have a Drink Package?

Disney still does not offer an unlimited alcoholic drink package like many other cruise lines.

Instead, they offer:

Disney has traditionally maintained a more moderate onboard drinking culture compared to other cruise lines.

Is It Still Worth Bringing Wine on a Disney Cruise?

If you enjoy having a glass of wine in your stateroom, bringing one bottle per adult can still save money.

Just remember:

  • Pack it in carry?on
  • Stay within the limit
  • Keep it sealed
  • Don’t attempt to bring hard liquor
  • Expect alcohol purchased in port to be stored until the end

Policies can change, so always check the official Disney Cruise Line website shortly before sailing for confirmation.
