How to Save on Drinks on a Disney Cruise – Beer, Wine, Cocktails, and Coffee

Sharing is caring!

Disney Cruise Line delivers incredible experiences at sea, but figuring out how to manage your drink tab while still enjoying yourself can be a challenge.

Unlike other cruise lines, Disney doesn’t offer traditional all-inclusive drink packages, but there are still many ways to enjoy some drinks without blowing the budget.

Here’s everything you need to know about saving money on drinks while sailing with Disney Cruise Line, including my tried-and-true tips for getting the best value.

What Drinks Are Included in Your Disney Cruise Fare?

The good news is that Disney includes more complimentary beverages in their cruise fare than many other cruise lines.

Here’s what you can enjoy for free:

  • Soda: Available at self-serve beverage stations on the pool deck and during meals in the main dining rooms. There’s no need to pay for soft drinks unless you order from a bar or lounge.
  • Coffee and Tea: Basic coffee and tea are included at the beverage stations and in the dining rooms.
  • Milk and Juice: These are also complimentary and available at breakfast, dining rooms, and drink stations.

Here is a list of self service beverages which are available on the pool deck of each ship (24 hour availability), and also in the buffet during opening hours.

  • Coca-Cola
  • Diet Coke
  • Coke Zero
  • Water
  • HiC Fruit Punch
  • HiC Pink Lemonade
  • Fuse Ice Tea
  • Sprite
  • Sprite Zero
  • Coffee
  • Hot Chocolate
  • Assorted Teas

Pro Tip: Always grab your soda, coffee, or juice from the beverage stations rather than ordering from a bar or lounge, where you’ll be charged extra.

I always take one of these water bottles with me so I can keep refilling it and easily carry it around with me.

How Much do Drinks Cost on a Disney Cruise?

There is a large range of prices for every type of drink but here is a general guide. Remember that an auto gratuity of 18% will be added to all drinks orders. This is except Disney Australia and New Zealand cruises where the menu price shown includes the gratuity.

Beer:

  • Domestic beers Stella Artois, Samuel Adams, Bud Light $7.00 per bottle.
  • Specialty or imported beers in the range of $8 to $20

Wine:

Ranging from $9.50 to $50 and above per glass.

Cocktails:

Starting at around $12 to $15 ranging to $50 or more (particularly if there is a souvenir glass).

Priced around $8

Coffee:

Costs range from $5.75 to $8.50

Disney Cruise Drink Packages for Wine

If you enjoy a glass of wine with dinner Disney’s wine packages are a great way to save money.

  • Pricing: Packages range from $123 to $388, depending on the number of bottles (3–7) and whether you choose the classic or premium wine list.
  • Flexibility: You can mix and match wines, enjoy more than one bottle per night, or save unfinished bottles for another evening. You can even take a bottle back to your stateroom.

Here is the Wine Package pricing.

Number of BottlesClassic Wine PackageClassic Per BottlePremium Wine PackagePremium Per Bottle
3$123$41.00$183$61.00
4$158$39.50$241$60.25
5$188$37.60$295$59.00
7$259$37.00$388$55.43

On my last cruise, I purchased a 4-bottle wine package for 7 nights, and it was perfect for splitting a bottle with my husband at dinner while enjoying a little extra on our verandah afterward.

The 25% savings compared to ordering bottles à la carte made it worth it for us.

Disney Cruise Drink Packages for Beer

Beer drinkers can also save with Disney’s six-pack deal.

  • Pricing: $36.25 for six bottles of beer (you pay for five and get one free).
  • Options: Here is a list of the available brands:

  • Angry Orchard
  • Blue Moon
  • Bud Light
  • Guinness
  • Heineken
  • Kona Longboard
  • Michelob Ultra
  • Miller Lite
  • Newcastle Brown Ale
  • Samuel Adams
  • Stella Artois

You can order these before your cruise or onboard, and they’ll be delivered to your stateroom. My husband loves the convenience of having a few cold beers ready to enjoy while watching the sunset from our balcony.

Some bars also have different beers on tap – availability will depend on which ship you are sailing on. For example Periscope Pub on Disney Treasure has a number of options.

Bring-Your-Own-Alcohol Policy

Disney Cruise Line’s bring-your-own-alcohol policy is one of the most generous at sea.

Wine from Home with All Hands on Deck from Room Service

  • Allowance: Each guest aged 21+ can bring two bottles of wine or Champagne or six 12-ounce beers at embarkation and every port of call.
  • Note that in Europe and Australia the age is 18+.
  • Important Note: Alcohol must be carried on board in your carry-on luggage, not your checked bags.

I always take advantage of being able to bring wine onto the cruise. Just keep in mind there’s a $29 corkage fee if you want to drink your wine in the dining room, so consider enjoying it elsewhere to avoid the extra cost.

Pro Tip: You can always take a glass of wine to dinner or even to a bar with you – even if you have brought the wine from home. Just ask your stateroom host for wine glasses.

Water Packages

Water is free on your Disney Cruise. DCL uses a reverse osmosis process to filter the water for onboard use and the filtered water is safe for drinking.

If you want to purchase bottled water you can do this by the bottle from any bar. You can also pre order so it will be delivered to your room.

You will also see offers to buy bottles of water with a cool bag.

Specialty Drink Savings Tips

If you’re looking to save money on cocktails, beer, and wine without a drink package, Disney Cruise Line offers several options:

1. Take Advantage of Happy Hours

  • Disney Cruise Line offers daily happy hours at adult-only bars and lounges, with drinks discounted up to 50%.
  • Check the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app for times and locations.

2. Try the Drink of the Day

  • Each day features a discounted tropical cocktail special.
  • For an extra treat, you can purchase a souvenir cup to get a larger serving and take the cup home as a keepsake. I have a lot of these at home!

Here are some of the ones which seem to appear more often.

  •  Captain’s Mai Tai
  • Espresso Chiller
  • High Tide
  • Melon Margarita
  • Paradise Punch
  • Sunken Treasure
  • Yellow Bird
  • Bahama Mama
  • Bay Breeze

Non- Alcoholic Favorites include:

  • Parrot Song
  • Passion Cream Freeze
  • Princess Delight
  • Mint Tea Punch
  • Lava Smoothie
  • Bora Shake

I love the piña colada on Castaway Cay — the perfect way to cool off after a morning at the beach.

3. Check Out the Sommelier Bin

This is a tip that a lot of people miss.

  • What It Is: The Sommelier Bin offers leftover high-quality wines from bottles opened during wine tastings or by other guests. These wines are sold at a discounted price, making it a budget-friendly option for wine lovers. The current price is $13 per glass.
  • Always By the Glass: The Sommelier Bin is exclusively offered by the glass, so it’s a great way to sample premium wines without committing to a full bottle.
  • How It Works:
    • Simply ask your server or sommelier about the Sommelier Bin—it is listed on many menus but not all.
    • You’ll select one of three options: red, white, or sparkling wine.
    • The sommelier will then choose a wine for you from their leftover selections, based on availability.
  • Why It’s Great:
    • You get access to different wines for $13 and if you get lucky you could get a glass which is much higher priced on the menu.
    • It’s perfect for those who enjoy trying new wines or want to enjoy something premium without overspending.
    • The process is simple, and you don’t need to worry about making a specific choice—the sommelier handles it for you.

Pro Tip:

Always ask about the Sommelier Bin, even if it’s not mentioned by your server.

This is one of my favorite ways to save. I have often enjoyed some great wines, and even premium champagne for a great price.

4. Save with the Beer Mug Package

  • For $15.25, you can purchase a 21-ounce refillable beer mug, which reduces the cost of draft beer.
  • Don’t want to carry the mug around? Exchange it for a token and trade it back for the mug at the end of the cruise.

There are different designs – and all are subject to availability.

You can preorder this on the DCL website

My husband was thrilled to get a bigger beer for less money, and the mug made a great souvenir.

5. Use the Coffee Punch Card

disneytreasurecoffee

  • Specialty coffee drinks like lattes and cappuccinos are an extra cost, but you can get your 6th drink free with the coffee punch card.
  • Available at Cove Cafe and other coffee bars on the ship.

Since I start every morning with a latte, the punch card was a lifesaver—and a nice excuse to visit the relaxing Cove Cafe.

Always ask for this as often the barista will not offer it to you.

Remember that you can always ask for your favorite character to be on your coffee – or just leave it up to your barista if you want a surprise.

Tips for Staying on Budget

  • Set a Daily Drink Budget: Decide how much you want to spend each day and stick to it.
  • Track Your Spending: Use the Navigator app or check your stateroom account to keep tabs on your drink purchases.
  • Plan Ahead: Pre-purchase wine and beer packages or bring your own drinks to save money.

You can pre purchase drinks on the Disney Cruise Onboard Gifts Page.

Final Thoughts: Do You Miss a Traditional Drink Package?

While Disney Cruise Line doesn’t offer an all-inclusive drink package, I’ve found that the variety of money-saving options—like wine and beer packages, happy hours, and the bring-your-own-alcohol policy—more than make up for it.

With a little planning, it’s easy to enjoy your favorite drinks without overspending.

Whether you’re sipping a discounted cocktail by the pool, enjoying a glass of wine on your verandah, or treating yourself to a specialty coffee, Disney makes it easy to keep the magic going without breaking the bank.
