The Disney Destiny is about to redefine what a cruise ship atrium can be. When guests step onboard this heroes-and-villains themed ship, the very first impression will set the stage for the adventure ahead: the Grand Hall.
When the Destiny sets sail this November, be sure to spend time in the Grand Hall beyond the first photo-op. A lot of cruisers miss just how much this space is the central hub of the ship, and there is a lot going on.
Her sister ships Disney Wish and Disney Treasure have incredibly stunning design details. Whilst Disney Destiny has a very different theme from the enchantment of Disney Wish, and the adventure of Disney Treasure, we can expect that the Imagineers have some up with some amazing design ideas.

Inspired by the lore and vibrant palettes of Black Panther, the Grand Hall on Disney Destiny isn’t just a stunning centerpiece — it’s designed as a living entertainment venue where music, storytelling, and Disney characters come to life throughout your voyage.
The Grand Hall: A Wakandan Welcome
Like her Wish-class sister ships, the Destiny’s Grand Hall serves as the center piece. But instead of Cinderella or Aladdin and Princess Jasmine theming, here you’ll be greeted by T’Challa, the Black Panther, represented in a powerful bronze statue accented with purple and silver hues.
Architectural patterns and bold colors echo the world of Wakanda, instantly grounding the ship’s identity in its heroes and villains theme.
Must-See Entertainment
Sounds of Wakanda
One of the headline offerings is Sounds of Wakanda, a live musical celebration in the Grand Hall.
A troupe of traveling percussionists will fill the space with high-energy rhythms inspired by Wakandan culture, creating a cultural showcase unlike anything else on the seas.
Expect drumming, storytelling through song, and plenty of audience spirit.
Zayah & Gamble: The Storytellers
Two original characters — Zayah and Gamble — will appear regularly in the Grand Hall and around the ship.
- Zayah is a mystical fortune teller, unveiling predictions with the help of a mysterious enchanted book.
- Gamble is a trickster alchemist, using potions and elixirs to spark unexpected adventures.
Their magical traveling trunks react to Disney villain energy, ensuring no two performances feel the same. Families will love seeing them pop up during the day with spontaneous storytelling experiences.
The equivalent on Disney Treasure is Sage and Coriander. A lot of people don’t even realize these shows are going on – but those in the know always take every chance to experience any of their appearances. I am sure that Zayah and Gamble will be just as entertaining.
Special Adult Entertainment
With Great Power: A Marvel Comedy Show
This adults-only experience takes over the Saga Lounge (just past the Grand Hall) with a one-of-a-kind Marvel twist. Hosted by Zayah and Gamble, it’s a laugh out loud sketch comedy night that feels totally new for Disney Cruise Line.
Think Marvel meets late-night comedy — clever, goofy, and tailor-made for grown-ups on the ship.
The Grand Hall will also host:
- Character greetings in heroic and villainous outfits
- Welcome parties, including embarkation day’s first magical moment when families enter the ship
- Pop-up performances and surprise encounters led by Zayah, Gamble, or other ship entertainers
The Disney Destiny’s Grand Hall will be more than just an atrium — it’s the heartbeat of the ship. From the thundering drums of Sounds of Wakanda to the antics of Zayah and Gamble, every guest (adults and kids alike) will feel part of the story.
And for grown-ups, the addition of a Marvel-themed comedy show in the Saga lounge shows that Disney Cruise Line continues to lean into adult entertainment alongside family fun.
