The Disney Dream was a brand new ship in 2011 and since she was launched she has proved to be very popular with many dates selling out quickly. The Disney Dream is 40% larger than the original Disney Dream and Wonder ships. One of the major attractions is the first water coaster at sea – The Aquaduck. This thrilling 785 water slide is a cruise industry first.
As with all of the Disney cruise ships there is something on board for all ages. The Disney Dream is very much a family orientated ship. Disney has the very best kids club program at sea with almost a whole deck devoted to the younger members of the family. The sometimes difficult to please teenagers have a very innovative space including an outdoor deck at The Vibe. The adults are not left out – the Dream has 11 lounges and night clubs.
Another area where Disney excels is in onboard entertainment. This really is Disney at it’s best and the stage shows are spectacular. The shows on the Dream are ‘Disney’s Believe” “The Golden Mickeys: A Timeless Tribute” and “Villains Tonight”. The entertainment is not just the stage shows of course. The Dream has a great movie theater where Disney movies are shown.
Disney cruise lines is known for it’s larger than average staterooms, and innovative spilt bathroom design. The subtly themed staterooms give lots of space and nice Disney touches. Some of the most popular staterooms are the inside cabins which have another industry first – virtual portholes. You may not have a window but the virtual porthole will give you a view of outside, and maybe some surprises when Nemo or Mickey and his friends swim past.
You have a great range of dining options on the Disney Dream too. Disney is the only cruise line which has ‘rotational dining’. What this means is that you dine in a different restaurant each evening, but that your waiters come with you. This is a really great idea as then your waiters get to know you and your family so that they can be of better service to you. If you want to experience premier dining then there are 2 options on the Disney Dream – Palo and Remy. There are also plenty of casual dining options including Cabanas the buffet dining location.
