This weekend we walked down Main Street in Disneyland and I suddenly remembered that we needed to try the Chef’s Vegan Burger at the Carnation Cafe. We are always on the lookout for good vegan food at Disneyland and we had read that the Vegan Burger was now on the menu at Carnation Cafe.
It was a rare rainy day in Disneyland so we did look at the outside seating with some trepidation. There is the new indoor seating but there was a longer wait for this, so we decided to accept a table outside. The skies looked clear for a moment!
We were greeted by one of the best servers we have encountered in a while at Disneyland. Manuel took our drinks order cheerfully and then can back to the table to ask if we had any questions about the park.
We ordered the Chef’s Vegan Burger for myself and my daughter. The Vegan Burger is priced at $11.99.
The boys weren’t very hungry so they shared a side of Seasonal French Fries.
Just as they brought the order out it really looked as though it was going to rain so our cheerful waiter organized a table move for us. Many of the outside seats have good shelter and we moved to one of those tables just in time. Rain rarely happens at Disneyland, so this isn’t going to be an issue for many guests!
The Chef’s Vegan Burger was really good. The menu description is a “House-made Bean and Vegetable Patty, Tomato, Lettuce, Pickled Red Onions, and Vegan Chipotle Mayonnaise on a Multigrain Roll”. The patty was tasty and you could tell it was made on site – it wasn’t anything like a pre packed frozen vegan burger. I really liked the Chipotle Mayonnaise too.
I asked Manuel if the vegan burger was available anywhere else in Disneyland and he went back inside to check. He returned and told us that there was a similar version in the Hungry Bear restaurant. When we checked we couldn’t see it on the menu but we will check back on our next visit and see what is on offer for vegans there.
We will definitely return to the Disneyland Carnation Cafe. The food was good and to have a specifically vegan option is just such a treat.
What is your favorite vegan food in Disneyland? Have you tried the vegan burger at Carnation Cafe?
