Mickey and Minnie Mouse are always well dressed – so it is only fitting that they have new outfits for Disney’s new private island Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point.
Designed by Bahamian fashion designed Theodore Elyett, these fabulous new outfits are inspired bythe bright, colorful spirit of Junkanoo, the Bahamas signature festival filled with joyous music and vibrant parades.

“The beauty of Mickey and Minnie’s looks are that they are literally ‘Junkanoo Fun in the Sun,’” Theodore said. “When you talk about the print, pattern, color, texture of Junkanoo, they’ve got that.”
I love the vibrant colors of the designs and Minnie’s purse is just adorable.
The traditional Bahamian design is reflected in the use of traditional materials, such as raffia, which is made from the leaves of Raffia palm trees. Eleuthera is known for it’s pineapples – so this is why this detail is on Minnie’s purse.
It isn’t only Minnie and Mickey Mouse who will be getting new outfits for Lighthouse Point. Theodore will also be designing new outfits for Donald and Daisy Duck, Goofy, Pluto, and Chip ‘n’ Dale.
Look out for more details about Lighthouse Point leading up to the first visit by Disney Fantasy in June 2024.
Disney Cruise Line recently released details of the Lighthouse Point Activities that will be available on the new private island.
