Disney has just released more details of the new Spice Table Road restaurant which is due to open soon in the Epcot Morocco Pavilion. This will be a welcome addition to dining options in the World Showcase Lagoon area of Epcot. It is likely to be extremely popular due to it’s location right at the side of the Lagoon giving it a prime viewing spot location for Epcot Illuminations.
Regular visitors to Epcot will know that currently at the site is a shop selling Moroccan goods. The restaurant will also feature a souk like area which will offer shopping as part of the building with the new Spice Table Road restaurant.
Spice Table Road will feature 60 indoor and 120 outdoor dining spaces. The menu will be based around small plate offerings including garlic jumbo shrimp in a spicy chile pepper sauce; harissa chicken drumettes; mussels with preserved lemons and tomato sauce; a Mediterranean omelet with sausage, potatoes and caramelized onion; and Moroccan merguez sausage with a tomato salad. Speciality drinks will also be offered.
It will be a welcome addition to the often overlooked Epcot Restaurant Marrakesh. This restaurant is tucked away at the back of the Moroccan Pavilion in Epcot. It offers traditional Moroccan favorites such as Kebabs, Chicken Bastilla, Fish Tagine and Couscous. If you want something a little different then it is definitely worth a try – particularly to watch or even join in with the belly dancing!
The exact opening date for Spice Table Road has not been announced but it is thought to be late 2013 or early 2014.
