Exciting news that Tangled:The Musical will debut on the Disney Magic on the November 11th 2015 Disney Magic 4 night Bahamian cruise. Finally we can put an end to the speculation as it has been confirmed that the 2010 Tangled movie will be brought to the Disney Magic stage.
Tangled:The Musical will follow the story of the movie. The creators of the original Tangled movie soundtrack Alan Menken and Grammy Award-winning lyricist Glenn Slater have written 3 new songs for the show.
The movie favorites including “When Will My Life Begin,” “Mother Knows Best,” “I Have a Dream” and “I See the Light” will also be in the Tangled show.
All Disney cruise productions are spectacular in their production and attention to detail and Tangled:The Musical has an amazing production team including director Gordon Greenberg and choreographer Connor Gallagher.
Even Maximus the horse will be in the show. Puppet designer Michael Curry, whose puppetry creations are in “The Lion King” on Broadway has created a puppet of the Tangled trusty steed Maximus.
Tony Award-winning designer Paloma Young is designing the costumes. The colors and costumes of the movie were exceptional and we are sure that that will translate beautifully to the Tangled: The Musical stage. Set design is by scenic designer Bradley Kaye who worked on Disney’s Aladdin—A Musical Spectacular
We are guessing that the show which Tangled:The Musical will replace on the Disney Magic is Villains Tonight! Disney Cruise Line have said that the new show will run alongside Twice Charmed: An Original Twist on the Cinderella Story and Disney Dreams… An Enchanted Classic. There was no mention of Villains Tonight so we assume that this is the one which will be retiring.
We are of course just waiting for the announcement that a Disney’s Frozen Spectacular will be debuting on Disney cruise line. Let us hope it is on the Disney Wonder and replaces Toy Story!
