Wizarding World Of Harry Potter – Ministry Of Magic is a brand new Harry Potter land coming to Universal Orlando Resort.
It’s opening with Universal’s newest park, Epic Universe, which will open its gates Summer of 2025.
This will be the third Harry Potter themed land in Universal Orlando Resort. The first was Hogsmeade back in 2010 at Island’s Adventure.
This included Hogwarts Castle, Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, Dragon Challenge, and Flight Of The Hippogriff.
In 2019, they replaced Dragon Challenge with the roller coaster Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure, which is still one of the most popular rides at the resort.
The second was located in Universal Studios Florida and was a recreation of Diagon Alley from the Harry Potter movies. It featured Harry Potter and the Escape From Gringotts, Knockturn Alley, and the Hogwarts Express, transporting guests between the two parks.
The new Wizarding World Of Harry Potter – Ministry Of Magic will partly be themed around the Fantastic Beast films, which are prequels to the Harry Potter series.
It’ll be set in 1920s Paris, with many different magical alleyways to explore.
You’ll also be able to travel to the Ministry of Magic via Floo Network in an attraction that takes place soon after the Harry Potter movies.
Entering The New Wizarding World
In Epic Universe, the main hub Celestial Park will connect the four new lands together.
You’ll enter the lands through portals, transporting you to unique new worlds.
These include How To Train Your Dragon – Isle Of Berk, Super Nintendo World, Dark Universe, and Wizarding World Of Harry Potter – Ministry Of Magic.
You’ll go through the portal and enter the magical streets of Paris.
Universal has stated that these are the tallest buildings they’ve ever built for any of the Wizarding Worlds at the parks.
They will tower over you and be intricately detailed, making you feel like you’re in 1920s Paris.
Attractions
Le Cirque Arcanus
A Fantastic Beasts circus show that’ll be sure to leave guests stunned.
The show stars Ringmaster Skeder, who has stolen Newt Scamander’s suitcase of magic beasts, hoping to restore the show to its former glory.
This will be the first-ever full-scale indoor show created for the Wizarding World Of Harry Potter.
They’ll have puppets, aerialists, a mix of physical and digital effects, and more in this one-of-a-kind show.
We’ve seen what Universal’s capable of when it comes to live shows.
The Bourne Stuntactular at Universal Studios Florida and Untrainable (based on How To Train Your Dragon) at Universal Beijing are both astounding, so we’re very excited to see what Universal has in store this time.
Harry Potter And The Battle At The Ministry
Rumors have been bubbling for years that Universal would build a ride based on the Ministry Of Magic. Now, the wait is almost over, and fans will finally have the chance to visit the iconic location.
T
o get to the Ministry, you’ll travel via the Floo Network.
You’ll enter a fireplace and be engulfed in a green flame then find yourself in the grand entrance to the Ministry Of Magic, just like the movies.
It takes place shortly after the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. Death Eaters are put on trial for their crimes including the universally despised Dolores Umbridge.
She escapes during her trial and vows to steal a Time-Turner and change the past so Voldermort can reign once again.
Harry, Ron, and Hermione will enlist guests to help put a stop to her.
Guests will board an elevator that will pull them up, down, sideways, and every other way.
They will get to explore all the mysterious rooms of the Ministry in a tense battle against Death Eaters. It has been described as a motion simulator and a thrill ride.
Universal has knocked it out the park many times when it comes to their dark rides, creating some of the best in the industry.
This includes the Amazing Adventures Of Spider-Man and Harry Potter And The Forbidden Journey. They push the boundaries of what’s possible in a theme park attraction.
So we can’t wait another minute to see what they have in store this time.
Interactive Experiences
Wizarding World Of Harry Potter – Ministry Of Magic will have an interactive wand experience, just like the other Wizarding Worlds at Universal Studios Florida and Islands Of Adventure.
Guests can buy interactive wands at gift shops and cast spells throughout the land. They’ll see many surprises along the way, even some magical creatures from the Fantastic Beasts series.
Food And Drink
Bièraubuerre
What is Bièraubuerre? It’s the French word for Butterbeer, which I don’t even want to attempt to pronounce…
Like the Wizarding World Of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade, there will be a Butterbeer wagon in the streets. Butterbeer is a nonalcoholic drink that tastes like butterscotch and has a foamy, milky top.
It’s served in the other Wizarding World locations and is one of the most popular beverages at Universal. It is the best thing I’ve had with the word beer in it, which I suppose isn’t saying much.
Café L’air De La Sirène
A French wizarding cafe that’s open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Guests can enjoy French pastries, sandwiches, plat du jour, and desserts.
It will serve alcoholic drinks like wine and cocktails. It will also serve nonalcoholic drinks including Butterbeer.
You can dine indoors and take in the beautiful architecture, with towering desert displays, mosaics of witches and wizards, and marble carvings.
Or you can dine outside and soak in the Parisian atmosphere.
Bar Moonshine
A US-themed bar that will serve exclusive cocktails, wine, beers, and of course, Butterbeer.
It’s decorated with US Quidditch team pennants and other US wizarding decor, so that witches and wizards from the US can feel more at home.
More Dining
- Le Gobelet Noir – In the dark corners of wizarding Paris sits a shady hotel for dark witches and wizards. They serve a full-course meal with entrées and desserts.
- K. Rammelle – A French bakery where you can satisfy your cravings.
Shopping
Cosme Acajor Baguettes Magiques
Wizarding World Of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley and Wizarding World Of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade both have their renditions of Ollivander’s Wand Shop.
Wizarding World Of Harry Potter – Ministry Of Magic will have its own unique wand shop.
The wands are crafted by French wand-maker Cosme Acajor, which have a unique elegant style to them, different from the ones seen at the other locations. They will also sell some of the original wands.
More Gift Shops
- Les Galeries Mirifiques – A clothing store like Madame Malkins at Diagon Alley, where you can buy robes from wizarding schools around the world.
- Tour En Floo – A floo powder-themed gift shop that is placed at the exit of The Battle Of The Ministry.
All of the features of Wizarding World Of Harry Potter – Ministry Of Magic look amazing. Will you be visiting?
