Disney Believe What We Know – What the New Teaser Reveals

We finally have a date.

Disney Cruise Line has announced that details of the Disney Believe will be revealed in a livestream on October 7, and after months of very little information, we’re about to find out what the ninth ship in the fleet is actually going to be like.

There’s also a rather lovely bonus for anyone sailing the Disney Wish on October 5 — more on that below.

But what interests me most is the teaser video Disney released alongside the announcement, because it quietly tells us a great deal more than the announcement itself does.

There are now twelve films represented, and if you know how the Wish-class ships are put together, you can start making some fairly educated guesses about what we’ll see on October 7.

So here’s everything that’s confirmed, followed by my honest predictions.

What We Actually Know About Disney Believe

Let’s separate fact from speculation, because there’s a lot of the latter flying about at the moment.

Confirmed:

• Disney Believe is the name of Disney Cruise Line’s ninth ship, announced in March 2026 at the Annual Meeting of Shareholders
• It’s the fourth Wish-class ship, joining Disney Wish, Disney Treasure and Disney Destiny
• She’s being assembled at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany, where most of the fleet was built
• Construction photos shared in July 2026 showed progress on the funnel
• The ship is inspired by “promise, possibility, and what lies beyond the horizon”
• She’s expected to debut in late 2027
• A fifth Wish-class ship is scheduled for 2029
• The livestream reveal is October 7

Not yet known: restaurants, bars, entertainment, staterooms, itineraries, homeport, the Grand Hall centrepiece, or the stern characters.

That’s the entire list. Which is why October 7 matters.

The One-Night-Only Show on Disney Wish

This bit genuinely delighted me.

If you happen to be sailing on the October 5 voyage of the Disney Wish, you’ll get a special one-night-only performance inspired by the Disney Believe on October 7, featuring Susan Egan.

If that name isn’t immediately familiar, it will be the moment you hear her voice. Susan Egan is the voice of Megara in Hercules, she originated the role of Belle on Broadway, and she is the Godparent of the Disney Destiny.

So if you’re on that sailing, you’ve won a small lottery you didn’t know you’d entered. And if you’re not — well, this is exactly the sort of thing that makes me look twice at sailing dates before I book.

Every Character in the Disney Believe Teaser

This is where things get interesting.

When the name was first announced in March, Disney teased theming inspired by six films: Encanto, Frozen, Snow White, Moana, Nightmare Before Christmas and The Little Mermaid.

The new teaser video adds six more: Inside Out, Big Hero 6, Zootopia, Monsters Inc. and Tangled. And Peter Pan with Tinker Bell.

Here’s the full list of characters who appear as pixie dust reveals them against a star-filled sky:

The narration, for anyone who hasn’t seen it:

“Do you believe? You may be asking, believe in what? Do you believe that your inner voice has the power to change your life and take you farther than you’ve ever gone before? Do you believe in the power of friendship and teaming up and finding your way together? Do you believe wishes come true, dreams have meaning, and that miracles can happen? It’s time to answer the question… do you believe?”

First, an Important Point About the Ship Itself

Before the speculation, one thing worth being clear about.

Disney Believe will be structurally the same ship as Disney Wish, Disney Treasure and Disney Destiny.

Same class, same shipyard, same basic layout. The Grand Hall will be in the same place. There will be three rotational dining restaurants in the same spaces. The AquaMouse will follow roughly the same route. The adult district, the kids’ clubs, the pool decks, the Senses Spa — all in the same locations.

What changes is the theming, and on the Wish-class ships that theming is transformative. Walking into Arendelle on the Wish and Plaza de Coco on the Treasure feels like being on two different ships, even though they occupy identical footprints.

So when I speculate below, I’m not guessing at layout. I’m guessing at what goes where — and that’s a much more informed guess, because we already know the pattern.

My Prediction #1: Encanto Will Not Be the Third Restaurant

And I know this opinion is in the minority. Most commentators say that Encanto is a sure thing.

But I am not so sure.

This one I feel genuinely confident about.

On every Wish-class ship so far, two of the three rotational restaurants have stayed the same:

• 1923 — the Walt Disney Studios-themed restaurant
• Worlds of Marvel — the interactive Marvel dining experience

The third restaurant is the one that changes, and it’s always the ship’s signature dining experience:

Here’s why I think Moana is the answer. And why I changed my mind.

Encanto was named in the very first announcement, But there could be more than one reason for that. Encanto appeared in the original March 2026 tease, alongside Frozen, Snow White, Moana and The Little Mermaid.

Mirabel and Abuela Alma are both in the video. Not just one character — two, including Abuela, who is central to the family story rather than an obvious merchandise pick. That suggests narrative importance rather than a cameo.

It fits the format perfectly.

Plaza de Coco proved that Disney can build a superb rotational restaurant around a Latin American musical film with a strong family theme, live performance and a distinctive visual world.

Casa Madrigal is practically designed for this. The house itself is a character. The food is obvious. The music is extraordinary. And “the miracle” as a concept sits absolutely squarely inside a ship themed around belief and possibility.

Disney is clearly investing in Encanto. It’s had remarkably little theme park presence relative to its popularity, and Disney has been visibly looking for places to put it.

If I’m right, Disney Believe will have 1923, Worlds of Marvel, and Moana restaurant.

Why am I moving away from Encanto as the restaurant?

Because it would be so much better if it is a new show in the theater. What could be better than a Lin Manuel Miranda production in a Disney crusise theater?

Encanto is still a very strong candidate for the restaurant. But let’s think of another reason why not.

Because of the cuisine. Encanto is set in Colombia. Is this an obvious cuisine choice for a restaurant. I am going to be honest here and say I have no idea what Colombian cuisine is. And perhaps that is the point.

Would a Moana theme for the third restaurant be the better choice? Hawaiian themed cuisine might be more of a draw than Colombian. And maybe it is too close to Coco de Plaza? Disney tends to look for every different experiences. Maybe this is another reason that a Moana theme would be a better restaurant for Disney Destiny.

But I think that the reality of an Encanto show in the theater may be more of a reality. And to be honest I really hope so.

We shall see!

My Prediction #2: The Stern Characters

Every Disney ship since the Disney Magic launched in 1998 has had its own signature character sculpture on the stern. It’s one of my favourite Disney Cruise traditions, and it’s usually one of the very last things fitted to the exterior — so we may not know for a while yet.

For scale, when the Disney Wish was being built, DCL revealed that Rapunzel’s figure is nine feet tall. On the Disney Treasure it’s Peter Pan and Captain Hook, which the Imagineers cleverly handled by showing only half of Hook, given the enormous height difference between the two characters.

So who’s next?

My top pick: Snow White. She’s the only character in the teaser given a full scene rather than a simple appearance — she’s shown dancing with Happy and Doc. That’s a deliberate choice. There’s a certain rightness to putting Disney’s very first heroine on the stern of a ship about belief.

Another tip pick: Pixar Characters There really does need to be a ship with more of a Pixar influence in my opinion. The Pixar Days at Sea are a nod to the popularity of this genre, but even though the newer ships do have some Pixar elements, really, we need more. So Woody and Buzz Lightyear on the stern. this would be a popular choice.

Third Choice?: Tinker Bell. She opens the teaser, she’s inherently connected to belief and pixie dust, and she’s flown across every one of these announcement videos. The problem is that Peter Pan is already claimed by the Treasure, and Disney has generally avoided repeating a film across sterns.

The wildcard: Moana and Maui. Two characters, natural scale contrast, and thematically perfect for a ship’s stern. If Encanto takes the restaurant, Moana becomes the obvious candidate for the ship’s exterior signature. Much more likely to be either a restaurant or a bar.

My Prediction #3: Who Will Be in the Grand Hall?

The Grand Hall is the heart of every Wish-class ship, and each one has a centrepiece statue that sets the tone the moment you walk aboard.

On the Disney Wish it’s Cinderella.

Given the teaser, Maybe Snow White – but she is already featured on Disney Adventure. The Adventure doesn’t have a Grand Hall, but Snow White is there in the central atrium. So maybe this is not happening.

But She’s the character given the most screen time. She’s Disney’s original heroine, which fits a ship about the very beginning of believing in something. And a Snow White statue in a Grand Hall — surrounded by that Wish-class woodwork and those sweeping staircases — would be genuinely beautiful.

I am struggling with this one. Probably as Disney intends it.

Maybe someone not mentioned in the videos at all? Belle? Beauty and the Beast will most likely be featured again in the adult dining spaces – so maybe this puts Belle out of the running.

Buzz and Woody? Maybe this is the time for a Pixar character or two to feature heavilly on the ship.

Tinker Bell? Another possibility. She features in the videos too, but she usually does. Maybe it is time to give her her own place in the Grand Hall. Very much a remote possibility I think though.

My Prediction #4: The Bars and Lounges

This is the part I find most fun to speculate about, because the Wish-class adult districts have produced some of the best-themed spaces at sea.

Looking at the pattern across the three existing ships, a few things repeat:

• The Rose Bar, adjacent to the adult dining
• Haunted Mansion Parlor, which appeared on Treasure and again on Destiny
• Two or three IP-themed lounges unique to that ship

Now I don’t think there will be a Haunted Mansion Parlor. DCL really needs to do something different which is going to get the fans just as excited.

There could be a revamp of Hyperspace Lounge but I don’t think that is happening either.

What my prediction is – Nightmare Before Christmas.

This movie was featured in the original teaser in March but not this one. Perhaps Disney will leave that as a later reveal to build excitement?

A San Fransokyo bar (Big Hero 6). Baymax and Hiro are in that video, and San Fransokyo is one of the most visually distinctive settings in the Disney animated canon — that Japanese-Californian mash-up of neon, bridges and cherry blossom. It would make a spectacular lounge, and it gives Disney a slightly more grown-up, design-led space of the kind Hyperspace Lounge occupies on the Wish.

Harryhausen’s (Monsters, Inc.). If you’ve seen the film you’ll remember the sushi restaurant Mike takes Celia to for her birthday. It is already a bar and restaurant. Mike and Sulley are in the teaser. Disney has never used this setting for a themed space and it is absolutely crying out to be one.

Something from Zootopia. Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde appearing together is interesting. The obvious candidate is the Mystic Springs Oasis, which would be a very funny adults-only space, though possibly too cheeky for DCL. More likely something built around Zootopia’s Downtown or Tundratown — and Tundratown in particular would give them an excuse for an ice bar, which no Disney ship has yet done properly.

Something Frozen or Little Mermaid. Anna and Olaf, plus Ariel and Flounder, are all in the teaser but neither film feels like the restaurant. Frozen already has Arendelle on the Wish, so a Frozen lounge rather than a restaurant would let Disney reuse a hugely popular property without repeating itself. An underwater Little Mermaid bar would also be gorgeous, and there’s precedent for underwater theming in the Periscope Pub on the Treasure.

And an Inside Out space? Joy appears in the teaser, and Inside Out is the one film on the list I struggle to place. It could be a kids’ club element rather than a bar. But a lounge built around the colours and lightbulb-memory aesthetic of Inside Out would be genuinely striking, and Disney has been looking for somewhere to put that film for years.

Does This Livestream Mean No D23 Announcement?

There’s been a lot of speculation about it.

Here’s my two cents.

Disney has used these livestream reveals before every recent ship debut, and they’ve historically covered stateroom details, dining concepts, theming for onboard spaces and entertainment. That’s a substantial amount of information — essentially the full onboard picture.

What these livestreams have not traditionally been used for is itineraries and opening dates, which Disney tends to release separately, tied to booking windows rather than to fan events.

So my honest expectation is:

October 7 gives us the ship — restaurants, bars, Grand Hall, entertainment, possibly staterooms.

Itineraries may come separately, and are governed by when Disney wants bookings to open rather than by any event calendar.

That’s actually good news if you’ve been waiting to plan, because it means the itinerary release isn’t hostage to a single date. Disney has been releasing itineraries in waves recently and there’s no particular reason for them to hold Believe’s back once the ship reveal is done.

The one thing I’d say is this: if you want to sail Disney Believe in her first season, start thinking about it now. Maiden-season sailings on Wish-class ships have sold extremely quickly, and they are almost never discounted. This is one of the few situations where booking on opening day genuinely is the cheapest you’ll ever see it.

What I’ll Be Watching For on October 7

Five things I will be watching for.

1. Confirmation of the third restaurant. Encanto is my bet.
2. The bar and lounge line-up. This is where Disney has been most creative on the Wish-class ships.
3. Whether my Nightmare Before Christmas prediction comes true.
4. The Grand Hall centrepiece. Snow White, but maybe not as she is in the atrium in Disney Adventure.

And of course the stern characters, though I suspect we’ll be waiting a good while longer for those.
