It’s almost here – the maiden voyage of Disney Adventure!
And now DCL is starting to reveal more details and pictures of this huge new Disney cruise ship.
You might remember this is the cruise ship that Disney purchased. The Global Dream was on the brink of being sold for scrap when the Mouse stepped in to save her. DCL is said to have paid the bargain price of 40 million Euros.

The Disney Adventure has just celebrated her Christening with Godparent, Robert Downey Junior.
According to Disney, the ship is designed to be “both the journey and the destination.”
As this is the first Disney cruise ship not to have any port stops, that is a good way of putting it!
Drawing from more than 100 years of Disney storytelling, the Disney Adventure will feature seven themed areas packed with attractions, entertainment, dining, and plenty of Disney magic.
Here’s a look at what guests will find onboard. All photos Disney Parks.
Disney Cruise Escalators!
I felt I had to have this as the first photo as this is unique on a Disney cruise ship. I know there are many brand new features on Disney Adventure, but this one gives you some idea of the scale of the ship and just how very different she is from the rest of the fleet.

Disney Imagination Garden

At the center of the ship is Disney Imagination Garden, which acts as the heart of the Disney Adventure.
The design of Disney Adventure is very different as it doesn’t have a central atrium or Grand Hall, but this is the equivalent.
The open-air courtyard is built around the Garden Stage, where guests will find live performances, character appearances, and special events happening throughout the cruise.
The Disney Adventure will feature 2,111 staterooms: 543 inside, 85 Oceanview, 1326 verandah, and 157 concierge level accommodations.
What people are wanting to see is, what are the Garden View Verandah staterooms going to be like? These inside view verandah staterooms are a first for Disney, although this type of arrangement has been on Royal Caribbean ships for some considerable time.
Will they be noisy? Or a great choice for viewing some of the shows and character experiences?
When it’s time to grab something to eat, there are two quick-service spots nearby: Gramma Tala’s Kitchen and Mowgli’s Eatery, serving Pacific and Indian-inspired dishes.
An Escalator on a Disney Cruise!
This is definitely a first! An escalator on a Disney cruise. I wonder if it is going to prevent long waits for the elevators…

Town Square
If you love Disney Princess stories, Town Square is designed to feel as though you are stepping into a fairy tale.

The area features elegant design inspired by classic Disney storytelling and includes experiences like Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, where young guests can get their royal makeover.
Guests can also visit locations like Spellbound and Enchanted Summer Restaurant.
Not far away is the Walt Disney Theatre, where guests can watch Broadway-style productions including “Disney Seas the Adventure” and “Remember,” which Disney describes as “an all-new production created exclusively for those sailing aboard the Disney Adventure.”
Two of the ship’s signature restaurants, Navigator’s Club and Hollywood Spotlight Club, are also located nearby.
San Fransokyo Street
Fans of Big Hero 6 will definitely want to check out San Fransokyo Street, a lively area designed like a bustling urban market.

There’s plenty to do here, including the Big Hero Arcade, a gaming lounge, and Baymax Cinemas, a four-screen movie theater.
Guests can also stop by Alley Cat Café or browse unique shops like the Duffy and Friends Shop and the National Geographic Store.
Marvel Landing
Over at Marvel Landing, things get a little more action-packed.

This area brings Marvel stories to life with several attractions, including Ironcycle Test Run, which is described as the longest rollercoaster at sea.
Guests can also experience Pym Quantum Racers and Groot Galaxy Spin.
These attractions are very different from those offered by any of the other Disney cruise ships, giving Disney Adventure a very unique appeal.
Wayfinder Bay
Inspired by Moana, Wayfinder Bay offers a more relaxed atmosphere. Located on the ship’s stern, the space features pools, ocean views, and live entertainment.

It’s designed as a laid-back spot where guests can relax while still enjoying the Disney atmosphere.
Disney Discovery Reef
Dining is a big part of the experience at Disney Discovery Reef, which is inspired by Disney and Pixar underwater stories.

Guests will find several themed restaurants and lounges here, including Palo Trattoria and Mike & Sulley’s Flavors of Asia.
There’s also Bewitching Boba and Brews, a bubble tea shop, and Taverna Portorosso, a sports bar themed to the Italian seaside village from Luca.
Toy Story Place
Up on the ship’s upper decks is Toy Story Place, a colorful water play area themed to Pixar’s Toy Story films.

The space includes a family pool, whirlpools, water slides, and interactive splash areas, making it a great spot for families and younger cruisers to spend some time in the sun.
A New Disney Cruise Experience
The Disney Adventure marks a big step for Disney Cruise Line as the company expands into Asia. With seven themed areas filled with attractions, entertainment, and dining, the ship is shaping up to be a destination all on its own.
Disney fans will want to keep an eye out for more details as Disney continues sharing updates leading up to the ship’s first voyage.
