Disney Believe’s first cruise prices have been revealed, and I wanted to see how they compare with Disney Destiny.
I always enjoy a deep dive into the price comparisons between the different Disney ships, and this one is a particularly interesting one.
How much have inaugural-season prices changed between the two ships, which launch two years apart?
And if you are choosing a cruise for 2028, will you pay more to sail on Believe?
Believe’s maiden voyage costs so much more per night than Destiny’s did. But on some similar 2028 sailings, Believe is actually cheaper than Destiny.
Let’s look at the prices.

About These Prices
All fares are in US dollars for two guests sharing one stateroom, including taxes, fees and port expenses. Gratuities are additional.
These are the advertised starting prices recorded when each itinerary release was announced. They are not live quotes, and other staterooms within each category may cost more.
First, I will compare each ship’s original inaugural-season prices. Then I will compare similar sailings on both ships in 2028.
Maiden Voyages: Compare the Cost Per Night

Disney Destiny’s maiden voyage departed November 20, 2025, for four nights.
Disney Believe’s maiden voyage departs December 18, 2027, for five nights.
Because Believe’s cruise is longer, the most useful comparison is the price per night, rather than simply the total fare.
| Stateroom | Destiny: total for 4 nights | Destiny: per night | Believe: total for 5 nights | Believe: per night | Increase per night |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Inside | $3,598 | $899.50 | $6,444 | $1,288.80 | 43.3% |
| Oceanview | $3,782 | $945.50 | $6,764 | $1,352.80 | 43.1% |
| Verandah | $4,302 | $1,075.50 | $7,134 | $1,426.80 | 32.7% |
| Concierge | $9,070 | $2,267.50 | $17,074 | $3,414.80 | 50.6% |
Nightly figures are for the stateroom for two guests, not per person.
Even allowing for the extra night, Believe’s maiden voyage verandah costs approximately 33% more per night.
Inside and oceanview are approximately 43% higher per night. Concierge is approximately 51% higher.
Those are substantial increases between the two ships’ original maiden voyage prices.
Believe also sails close to Christmas, while Destiny’s maiden voyage departed in November. The itineraries differ too. We cannot attribute the entire increase to the newer ship.
But the extra night certainly does not explain the whole difference.
Regular Inaugural Sailings Tell a Different Story
The maiden voyage is a special occasion with its own appeal. What happens when we compare regular cruises during each ship’s first season?
These two five-night Western Caribbean sailings make a useful comparison:
- Disney Destiny: January 17, 2026
- Disney Believe: January 15, 2028
Both visit Cozumel and Castaway Cay.
| Stateroom | Destiny: January 17, 2026 | Believe: January 15, 2028 | Extra for Believe | Increase |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Inside | $2,928 | $3,180 | $252 | 8.6% |
| Oceanview | $3,258 | $3,540 | $282 | 8.7% |
| Verandah | $3,608 | $3,920 | $312 | 8.6% |
| Concierge | $7,298 | $7,910 | $612 | 8.4% |
Here, the increase is approximately 8% to 9% across all four categories, two years apart.
For a verandah, Destiny’s fare works out at $721.60 per night, compared with $784 on Believe.
That is $62.40 more per night, or $312 over the whole cruise.
I am not suggesting that these are inexpensive vacations. But this is a much smaller increase than we see on the maiden voyages.
If your aim is simply to experience Believe during her first season, the January prices deserve a closer look.
Later in January, the Difference Is Bigger

Now compare another pair of five-night Western Caribbean sailings visiting Cozumel and Castaway Cay.
| Stateroom | Destiny: January 31, 2026 | Believe: January 29, 2028 | Extra for Believe |
|---|---|---|---|
| Inside | $2,878 | $3,390 | $512 |
| Oceanview | $3,198 | $3,780 | $582 |
| Verandah | $3,548 | $4,180 | $632 |
| Concierge | $7,158 | $8,470 | $1,312 |
The verandah increase is approximately 18%.
Destiny works out at $709.60 per night, compared with $836 on Believe.
That is $126.40 more per night.
So even with the same cruise length, departure port and destinations, there is no single percentage increase that applies to every sailing.
The date you choose matters.
Choosing Between Believe and Destiny for 2028
The original launch-price comparison shows how Disney priced the two ships’ inaugural seasons.
But if you are planning a cruise for 2028, there is another question:
Does Believe cost more than Destiny sailing around the same time?
For this comparison, I have used the starting fares from each ship’s 2027–2028 itinerary release.
There is one main difference to keep in mind: Believe departs from Fort Lauderdale, while these Destiny sailings depart from Port Canaveral.
Flights, hotels and transfers could therefore change which vacation costs less overall.
However, we can still compare the cruise fares for similar dates, the same number of nights and the same destinations.
Five Nights Visiting Nassau, Castaway Cay and Lookout Cay
All the cruises below are five nights and visit Nassau, Castaway Cay and Lookout Cay, although the order of the ports may differ.
These are starting verandah fares for two guests.
| Believe departure | Believe verandah | Destiny departure | Destiny verandah | Difference |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| January 24, 2028 | $4,264 | January 23, 2028 | $4,191 | Believe is $73 more |
| February 7, 2028 | $4,394 | February 6, 2028 | $4,301 | Believe is $93 more |
| February 21, 2028 | $4,584 | February 20, 2028 | $4,851 | Believe is $267 less |
| March 20, 2028 | $5,084 | March 19, 2028 | $5,101 | Believe is $17 less |
| April 17, 2028 | $4,404 | April 16, 2028 | $5,571 | Believe is $1,167 less |
What strikes me is how close some of these prices are.
A $73 or $93 difference over five nights would not decide which ship I booked.
I would choose the ship I most wanted to experience and the departure port that worked best for my plans.
The March fares are almost identical. A $17 difference is not going to influence my decision.
And on February 21, Believe is $267 less than Destiny’s departure the previous day.
Then there is April.
April Is Where the Saving Gets Your Attention
Believe’s April 17 verandah starts at $4,404.
Destiny’s April 16 verandah starts at $5,571.
That is $1,167 less for Believe, for the same cruise length and the same three advertised destinations.
That is enough to make me stop and compare the rest of the trip.
Would Fort Lauderdale work for my flights? What would the hotel and transportation cost? Which ship would I prefer?
The ports of departure are different, but a saving of more than $1,000 on the cruise itself is certainly worth investigating.
These comparisons are for verandah staterooms. The difference will not necessarily be the same in every category.
But they show that the newest ship does not automatically have the highest fare.

Is Disney Believe More Expensive?
For the original maiden voyages, yes—even after allowing for Believe’s extra night.
The starting verandah fare is approximately 33% higher per night, with larger percentage increases in the other categories.
For the regular inaugural-season cruises we compared, the increases are smaller. Our January Western Caribbean examples show verandah increases of approximately 9% and 18% over two years.
But when comparing similar cruises on both ships in 2028, Believe is not consistently more expensive.
Some fares are very close. On other dates, Believe costs less.
I would not rule out Believe because she is the newest ship. Equally, I would not assume Destiny will be cheaper because she has been sailing longer.
Which Ship Would I Choose?

For me, price is only part of the decision.
Encanto is the announcement that makes me most interested in Disney Believe. But I already know that I enjoy Disney Destiny.
If the fares were within $100 of each other, I would choose based on the ship and the departure port.
If Believe were more than $1,000 less for a similar itinerary, that would make the decision much more interesting.
And if my main aim were simply to experience Believe, I would look closely at January before committing to the maiden voyage.
There is only one first official sailing. I understand why that matters enormously to some guests.
But experiencing the ship a few weeks later, at a considerably lower price, will be the more appealing option for others.

I would compare a couple of dates on both ships before deciding. You may find that moving your cruise by a week makes more difference to your budget than choosing the newer ship.
Would you choose Disney Believe to experience the newest ship, or would Disney Destiny be your first choice?]
Believe’s maiden voyage verandah starts at $7,134, compared with $4,302 for Destiny’s original maiden voyage. That isn’t a
But for similar five-night cruises sailing in 2028, Believe can actually cost less than Destiny.
There are two comparisons worth making: each ship’s original inaugural-season prices, two years apart, and their similar sailings in 2028.
Let’s start with the prices.
Disney Believe vs Disney Destiny Maiden Voyage Prices
| Stateroom | Destiny: November 20, 2025 | Believe: December 18, 2027 | Extra for Believe |
|---|---|---|---|
| Inside | $3,598 | $6,444 | $2,846 |
| Oceanview | $3,782 | $6,764 | $2,982 |
| Verandah | $4,302 | $7,134 | $2,832 |
| Concierge | $9,070 | $17,074 | $8,004 |
All prices in this article are in US dollars for two guests sharing one stateroom, including taxes, fees and port expenses. Gratuities are additional.
These are the original advertised starting fares recorded when the sailings were released. They are not live quotes, and other staterooms within each category can cost more.
There is one important difference in the maiden voyage comparison: Destiny’s cruise was four nights, while Believe’s is five nights.
You are getting an extra night on Believe. But even allowing for that, the increase is substantial.
A verandah works out at approximately $1,076 per night on Destiny, compared with $1,427 on Believe.
That is approximately 33% more per night for the stateroom for two guests.
Concierge has an even larger increase. The total rises from $9,070 to $17,074—$8,004 more. Adjusted for the extra night, that is approximately 51% more per night.
Believe’s maiden voyage also sails close to Christmas, while Destiny’s departed in November. The voyages take place two years apart, so this is not a comparison where we can attribute the whole difference to the ship itself.
Nevertheless, if you remember Destiny’s original maiden voyage prices, Believe’s first sailing is a considerably more expensive commitment.
How Do Their Regular Inaugural-Season Prices Compare?

The maiden voyages are interesting, but I think the regular sailings give us a more useful picture.
Compare these two five-night Western Caribbean cruises:
- Disney Destiny departing January 17, 2026.
- Disney Believe departing January 15, 2028.
Both sail from Fort Lauderdale and visit Cozumel and Castaway Cay.
| Stateroom | Destiny: January 17, 2026 | Believe: January 15, 2028 | Extra for Believe |
|---|---|---|---|
| Inside | $2,928 | $3,180 | $252 |
| Oceanview | $3,258 | $3,540 | $282 |
| Verandah | $3,608 | $3,920 | $312 |
| Concierge | $7,298 | $7,910 | $612 |
For a verandah, that is $312 more over the whole five-night cruise, an increase of approximately 9% over two years.
That is a very different picture from the maiden voyage comparison.
I am not suggesting these are inexpensive cruises. But if you simply want to experience Believe during her first season, this particular January sailing has a much smaller increase than the maiden voyage figures might lead you to expect.
The increase is also fairly consistent across all four categories, at approximately 8% to 9%.
Later in January, the Difference Is Bigger
Now compare another pair of five-night Western Caribbean cruises visiting Cozumel and Castaway Cay.
| Stateroom | Destiny: January 31, 2026 | Believe: January 29, 2028 | Extra for Believe |

| Verandah | $3,548 | $4,180 | $632 |
| Concierge | $7,158 | $8,470 | $1,312 |
Here, the verandah increase is approximately 18%.
Same cruise length. Same departure port. Same destinations. Similar dates during each ship’s first January.
But a larger price difference than we saw in the previous comparison.
This is why I would not put one percentage on how much more Disney Believe costs. Even among similar inaugural-season sailings, the answer changes depending on the date.
What If You Are Choosing Between Believe and Destiny for 2028?
Comparing the original launch prices tells us how pricing has changed between the two ships.
But if you are planning a cruise for 2028, there is a more practical question:
What will you pay to sail on Believe compared with Destiny around the same time?
For this comparison, I have used the initial prices from each ship’s 2027–2028 itinerary release.
Believe sails from Fort Lauderdale, while the Destiny cruises below depart from Port Canaveral. That means flights, hotels and transfers could change the overall cost of your vacation.
However, comparing the same cruise length, destinations and similar departure dates still gives us useful information.
Five-Night Bahamas Cruises: Believe Is Not Always More Expensive

All the cruises below visit Nassau, Castaway Cay and Lookout Cay, although the order of the ports may differ.
These are starting verandah fares for two guests.

Destiny’s April 16 verandah starts at $5,571.
That is $1,167 less for Believe, for five nights visiting the same three advertised destinations.
That is a significant difference.
I would certainly compare the flights, hotel and transfer costs before deciding. But a saving of more than $1,000 on the cruise itself is enough to make me look very closely at Believe.
These figures are for verandah staterooms. The difference will not necessarily be the same for inside, oceanview or concierge.
But the point is clear: the newest ship does not automatically have the highest fare.
So Is Disney Believe More Expensive Than Disney Destiny?
For the original maiden voyages, yes—considerably.
Even after accounting for Believe’s extra night, the starting verandah fare is approximately 33% higher per night.
For the regular inaugural-season sailings we compared, the increases are smaller. The two January Western Caribbean verandah examples are approximately 9% and 18% higher, two years apart.
