Did you know that there is a Disney Cruise Character Breakfast on select Disney cruises year-round? Learn more about the Character Breakfasts to see if this is a great option for your next Disney Cruise.
UNFORTUNATELY, THE CHARACTER BREAKFAST HAS NOT BEEN AVAILABLE SINCE 2020 AND THERE IS NO OFFICIAL WORD AS TO WHETHER OR NOT IT WILL RETURN.
Disney Cruise Character Breakfast
If you are sailing on a Disney Cruise of 7 nights or more there will be an opportunity to eat at Character Breakfasts. Unfortunately, they are only offered on cruises of 7 nights and more.
This means that if you are sailing on the Disney Dream, as they only sail 3, 4 and 5-night itineraries, there will not be a Disney Cruise Character Breakfast.
However, all other 7 night or more cruises will have this.
These special breakfasts are usually scheduled twice a week for the 7-night cruises. It will always be on a sailing day.

Disney Cruise Character Breakfast Tickets
You will need tickets for the Disney Cruise Character Breakfast. They are limited and you do need to plan ahead if you want to go to the Disney Junior Breakfast on board any of the Disney ships where it is being offered.
Even though you need a ticket, the Disney cruise character breakfast is free. There is no additional cost to attend, but you must have a ticket.
You can book these tickets in advance online in your Disney Cruise Personalizer. How do you do this?Everyone with a Disney cruise reservation can log in to their Disney Cruise Personalizer either online or by downloading the Disney Cruise App on their phone.
Depending upon your Castaway Club status you will be able to sign up for events a certain number of days prior to your Disney Cruise embarkation.
The Castaway Club is the Disney Cruise loyalty club. You automatically become a member of the Castaway Club when you have sailed on your first Disney Cruise.
There are 3 tiers of membership in the Castaway Club. The more cruises you have done, the higher the level you reach.
The first level is Silver when you have sailed between 1 and 5 cruises. If you are Silver you can book activities 90 days prior to sailing.
The second level is Gold. To reach Gold Castaway Club status you have to have sailed between 6 and 10 cruises. The booking window for Gold Castaway Club members is 105 prior to sailing.
When you have completed your tenth Disney cruise you will have Platinum status. This means that you can book activities 120 days before sailing.
Concierge Guests can also book 120 days before sailing.
If you have never sailed on a Disney cruise before you will have to wait until 75 days before sailing before you can book any activities online.
As you will see, the more Disney cruises you have sailed, the earlier you can book activities.
The Disney Junior Breakfast is a very popular activity on a Disney Cruise. The tickets do all get allocated.
As with all Disney cruise activities you should book as soon as you can. This doesn’t always work out of course. Even if you are a Platinum Castaway Club member you may book late and so not get that 120-day advantage.
What if you can’t grab a ticket online prior to your cruise as they have already “sold out”?
Don’t worry too much if you do not have a ticket. Keep checking back online as sometimes people do cancel their reservations.
However, it may be that you still can’t get a ticket before you sail.
If this happens what you need to do is go to Guest Services as soon as you board the ship. Often there will still be tickets available. If there aren’t you will be put on a waiting list and you may still get lucky.
This is exactly the same advice that we have if you don’t get tickets for the Disney Cruise Frozen Meet and Greet prior to boarding.
Disney Cruise Character Breakfast Characters
The theme is now Disney Junior for the Character Breakfasts. I am not particularly sure why this theme is chosen. I admit that it certainly isn’t my favorite.
I preferred it years ago when you had the usual characters you also get in most of the character breakfasts in the Disney parks such as Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto or Chip and Dale.
However, I know that many Disney cruise guests with younger children do appreciate these characters as the kids love them.
Which characters appear at a Disney Junior Cruise Character Breakfast? Sofia The First, Doc McStuffins, Jake and Vampirina are in attendance. Mickey Mouse is also there to meet everyone.
Disney Cruise Character Breakfast Menu
The Disney Junior Character Breakfast Menu has a good choice of items for both the kids and the adults. I think it is one of the best Disney cruise breakfast menus available.

Disney Cruise Character Breakfast Review
What is the Disney Cruise Character Breakfast actually like? It really is a lot of fun and I would particularly recommend it if you have young children.
If you have a character breakfast in a Disney park or resort on land you will certainly be paying around $200 for your family of 4. It is really good that it is included on Disney cruises which are 7 days or longer.
The Disney Junior theme is not one that I particularly enjoy. My children are older now as my youngest is 13 so the Disney Junior theme is not one which is particularly appealing for them. However, it certainly will be for younger ones.
It is always good to see Mickey and this is a great opportunity to meet and greet him without having to stand in line.
The theming of the Character Breakfast on a Disney cruise is a bit lacking, although they do have screens showing the Disney Junior logo.
The Disney Junior Character Breakfast Menu has a lot of variety and the presentation is generally well done. It is certainly a lot better than the Disembarkation Breakfast menu which now I have started to avoid as it is so limited and generally not very well cooked either.
The character breakfast food is pretty good. The whole experience does feel a little rushed as the servers are working very hard to get the food out efficiently. The whole process takes about 45 minutes to an hour.
If you get the opportunity I would suggest always trying the Character Breakfast on a Disney Cruise. It’s a lot of fun and you can get some great pictures of Mickey Mouse!
