Disney Cruise line it to account the new 2015 itineraries next week. Whilst the first part of 2015 was announced some time ago we have all been left waiting and wondering what the new Disney Cruise line itineraries and sailings will be for the rest of 2015. Apparently the wait is almost over as there will be an announcement next week.
I would guess that the new itineraries will be announced on either Monday or Tuesday of next week, and of course as soon as they are we will be writing about what they are.
What might the new 2015 Disney Cruise Line itineraries be? There is of course a lot of speculation but my guess is:
Disney Wonder Sailings for 2015
The Disney Wonder will continue to cruise to Alaska from May to September. There will be some Pacific Coastal cruises, and as the itineraries from San Diego sold so quickly and at such premium prices I am guessing Disney will choose to announce at least one more cruise out of San Diego. I think there will also be a 14 night cruise to Hawaii from San Diego. This will be incredibly popular and sell out as soon as it is announced is my guess.
Unfortunately I don’t think that the Disney Wonder will remain on the West Coast any longer than late September, early October for 2015 and there will be another Panama Canal cruise in 2015 when she sails back to the East Coast. This may be the last Panama Canal cruise for the Disney Wonder before a major refit, which will mean that she can no longer sail through the existing locks. The Panama Canal expansion which was set to open in June 2015 has had a number of set backs and is now said to be opening December 2015. This would mean that the refurbished Disney Wonder could sail back in spring time 2016 for the Pacific Coastal and Alaska cruises.
Disney Magic 2015 Itineraries
The Disney Magic will visit Europe again in the summer of 2015. It is likely that she will again sail from Barcelona on mainly 7 night itineraries. She will visit Naples, Civitavecchia, Italy (for Rome), La Spezia, Italy (for Florence and Pisa) and Villefranche, France.
But perhaps the most exciting potential sailings are those out of Copenhagen and Dover. Speculation is that the Disney Magic will sail our of Copenhagen in late May, June and early July for the 7 night Norwegian Fjord itineraries and that maybe there will be one sailing which will be longer and include Iceland.
It is likely that the Disney Magic will also sail from Dover in the UK. They did this some years ago and those itineraries were very popular. These would most likely be sailings to The Baltic with 12 night itineraries in July. This would likely be a very popular itinerary with very easy access to those living in the UK.
These sailings to Norway on a Disney cruise would of course be a very easy marketing tie in to the very successful Frozen movie.
There would of course be 2 transatlantic crossings for the Disney Magic – one in May and the other in September. I would guess that when the Disney Magic returns to the East Coast it will be to Cape Canaveral Florida and it will continue sailing the 3 and 4 night itineraries.
Disney Fantasy
St Kitts, St. Lucia and Barbados and The British Virgin Islands are rumored to be new ports of call for the Disney ships in 2015. This could be for any of the ships but the Disney Fantasy is likely to sail on the very popular 7 night cruises out of Port Canaveral for the foreseeable future.
As the Disney Wonder and the Disney Magic are likely to be away in Europe and on the West Coast for summer 2015 it seems likely that we will see some “double Dip” cruises for the Disney Fantasy and possibly the Disney Dream where they will visit Castaway Cay twice on one sailing. These cruises are always, for very good reason, very popular!
Disney Dream
It is likely that the Disney Dream will continue sailing out of Port Canaveral on 3 and 4 night cruises for the rest of 2015.
Other Possibilities for Disney Cruise Itineraries 2015
A lot of people would like to see more sailings out of New York for 2015. Unfortunately I think this is a long shot and unlikely to happen.
Others of course (me included) would love to see the Disney Wonder come back to the West Coast for an extended period of time. I think it is highly unlikely that this will happen. The sailings from Los Angeles were always difficult to sell as guests just don’t seem to want the Mexico itineraries. Perhaps a change to San Diego would help for a while as San Pedro just seems to be a port that didn’t work for Disney cruises. I have my fingers crossed for more Disney Wonder cruises out of San Diego but I think there is only a slightly chance of my dream coming true!
Remember that everything here is speculation! We will be announcing the new Disney cruise itineraries for 2015 as soon as they are published!
