One of the most spectacular features of the new Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade is the Maleficent Dragon. Magic Kingdom was in desperate need of a new parade and the Festival of Fantasy more than delivers. The Malificent Dragon is an amazing feature of this new parade.
In this video the Imagineers describe what went into the design of the Maleficent Dragon for the Festival of Fantasy parade.
One of the most popular features of the Festival of Fantasy is the Princess Garden float which includes Princess Anna, Queen Elsa and Olaf. There is a huge demand for anything Frozen related in the parks and the inclusion of Elsa, Anna and Olaf is a real crowd pleaser.
The more modern Princesses are well represented with Rapunzel and Flynn Rider also included. Princess Merida from Brae is also included.
The Festival of Fantasy Parade brings the Disney parade experience very much up to date. The new floats are spectacular. The Maleficent Dragon has to be seen to be believed. It is just so imposing it can’t fail to leave an impression.
The Festival of Fantasy blends the new with the more traditional and is certainly one of the most satisfying of the Disney Parades to debut in recent years. I am sure that it will be a feature of the Magic Kingdom for many years into the future. Some of the recent Parades have been disappointing, and dare I say it, seemed to skimp on the budget a bit? Not so with the Festival of Fantasy which is taking us back to the old Disney Magic.
Have you seen the Festival of Fantasy Parade? What do you think of the Maleficent Dragon?
