Sad news for fans that Once Upon A Time in Wonderland has been cancelled. It was announced that the 13th episode will be the series finale.
Whilst I am a huge fan of Once Upon a Time, the Wonderland spin off never really hit the mark for me. It always just seemed like it was struggling very hard to be as great as the original but just never came close.
Part of the reason may be that Once Upon A Time In Wonderland was rushed ahead of it’s original planned schedule. ABC wanted the Wonderland spin off to bridge the gap between the end of the Once Upon a Time series ending and restarting in the Fall. But production was brought forward for the Wonderland series so that they ran simultaneously. This could explain a lot of the problems with Once Upon A Time in Wonderland – it never had anywhere near the polish of it’s infinitely superior parent.
It has always been promised that the a complete story will be told in the first series, so no cliff hangers for the series finale of Once Upon a Time next week.
