It’s here! The Disney Free Dining Plan 2014 has just been announced. The Walt Disney World Free Dining Plan is available for select dates in September, October, November and December 2014.
Right now the Free Dining Plan is only available to book if you have a Disney Visa Credit Card, but it is thought that the offer will be open to the general public on 7th May 2014.
Here are the Disney Free Dining Plan Dates for 2014
August 31, 2014 – October 3, 2014
October 26, 2014 – November 1, 2014
November 9, 2014 – November 20, 2014
December 12, 2014 – December 23, 2014
You must stay a minimum of 3 nights with a minimum of a 2 day base ticket for a Walt Disney World package.
The Disney Free Dining Plan for 2014 Booking Code is V973K for Value Resorts and D365N for Moderates, Deluxe and Deluxe Villa Resorts.
There are exclusions to the rooms offered. These are not included in the Free Dining Plan:
All-Star Movies
Port Orleans Resort Riverside
Port Orleans Resort French Quarter
Fort Wilderness campsites
Grand Villas at all resorts (3-bedroom Disney Vacation Club rooms)
Art of Animation Little Mermaid Rooms
Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort
If you book a Value Resort you will get a Free Quick Service Dining Plan. For Moderate, Deluxe and Villa Resorts you will get the standard Disney Dining Plan free.
You can upgrade to a higher dining plan if you pay the price difference between the dinning plans. For example to upgrade a Quick Service to a standard Dining Plan costs $18.65 per adult and $3.20 per child per night.
Remember that these rooms go very very quickly. The best way to get around this is to have a Disney travel agent book your vacation before the free dining is announced. Then they can change it for you and apply the discount when it becomes available. This way you have your first choice of room and resort before everyone else jumps on the free Disney dining offer.
We only recommend Destinations in Florida as our preferred travel agent. They know Disney and all the amazing planning they will do for you is absolutely free.
To work out if you will be eligible for the Free Disney Dining Plan you need to look at your arrival date. Disney counts the arrival date as the relevant one.
How does this work? Let’s look at December 2014. If you arrive on 11th December and depart on 20th December you will not be eligible for the free dining, even though most of the dates you stay are within the free dining window.
How do you get around this? You will have to make 2 bookings and split them between the free and not free dining times. So for this example you would book one night for 11th December and then check out on 12th, with another booking from 12th to check out on the 20th.
Your Disney Dream Vacations can work all of this out for you.
Remember too that Free Dining means a lot of other people dining at Walt Disney World. So make your advance dining reservations now if you plan to visit.
