Disney Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa is a Disney Vacation Club Resort located overlooking the lake at Downtown Disney. What you may not realize is that even if you are not a DVC member you can still book the Saratoga Springs Resort hotel.
The hotel has a rather unusual theme – Victorian upstate New York elegance with a horse racing influence. The motto is “Health, History and Horses”.
Don’t let this slightly strange sounding theme deter you. Saratoga Springs is a good choice if you are looking for good quality Disney hotel accommodation which offers studio, one, two and three bedroom villas. They also have the very beautifully designed Treehouse Villas at Saratoga Springs Resort. It certainly isn’t the most luxurious, but it is one of the quietest and most reasonably priced for the size of the accommodation.
There are 18 buildings at Saratoga Springs. The main building is named The Carriage House and this is where you check in. The Carriage House also has the hotel dining options, both quick and full service restaurants, as well as being the location for the main resort pool.
The one thing that you do really need to be aware of is that if you are staying using Disney Vacation Club points then you will not get any housekeeping unless you pay for this in addition to your room rate. If you are not staying as part of DVC (so are paying cash and not renting points) then housekeeping is included in your rate.
What are the Saratoga Springs Resort Rooms Like?
Guests have a choice of spacious accommodation at Saratoga Springs.
Studio Villas are 355 square feet and sleep up to 4 guests. There have one Queen bed and one full size sleeper sofa so are really best suited to 2 adults and 2 younger children. Each studio has either a patio or a balcony. There is a refrigerator, coffee maker and a wet bar.
One Bedroom Villas area very generous 714 square feet. They have a master bedroom with a King size bed and bathroom with whirlpool bath. They will sleep up to 4 guests and 1 infant aged under 3. All have a patio or a balcony. They also have the benefit of a fully equipped kitchen which includes a stove, dishwasher, toaster, microwave, coffee maker and refrigerator. The Two Bedroom Villas offer 1075 square feet of space. They have a King master bedroom with whirlpool bath, a second bedroom with either 2 Queen beds or a Queen and a double sized sleeper sofa. There is also a Queen sized sleeper sofa in the living room. The Two bedroom villas sleep up to 8 guests plus 1 child under 3 in a crib. They also have the advantage of a second bathroom. There is a fully equipped kitchen just like the ones in the One Bedroom Villas.
Saratoga Springs Treehouse Villas
If you are looking for something very special then you should take a look at the Treehouse Villas. These are one of the most original designs of accommodation anywhere in Walt Disney World. The tree houses are elevated 10 feet off the ground and offer 3 bedrooms. They are octagonal in shape and offer 1074 square feet of living space. There are only 60 Treehouse Villas, 4 of those being wheelchair accessible. Each sleeps up to 9 guests and 1 infant under 3 in a crib. The master and second bedrooms both have Queen beds. The 3rd bedroom has bunks. There is also a second bathroom.
The kitchens are very nicely appointed with granite counters and separate dining space.

Where are the Best Rooms Located at Saratoga Springs?
If you want to be closest to the pool, the bus stops and Downtown Disney then request Congress Park. The Springs is closest to The Carriage House with the restaurants and the swimming pool.
The Carousel and The Grandstand are a little more remote. The resort is huge but there is a bus system which you can use to get around.
Disney Saratoga Springs Resort Restaurants and Dining
The Turf Grill Club is Saratoga Springs full service dining restaurant. The Turf Grill serves American style cuisine in a restaurant which has great views of the golf course and Downtown Disney over the lake. The food is good but not outstanding. Many feel that the atmosphere here is more like a golf country club than a Disney resort.
Artist’s Palate offers quick service dining. It also offers snacks and some merchandise. It is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Disney Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa Recreation
The Rock Springs Pool has recently been refurbished. This 161,000 gallon pool features beautiful rock landscaping and the water cascades down into the main pool. The kids will love the water slide and the themed area with water fountains. There is the Rock Pool Bar which serves drinks (but no snacks).
There are also 3 quieter pools each with a hot tub at the Grandstand, Congress Park, and the Treehouse Villas sections of the resort. The Paddock section also has another themed pool with a water fountain play area.
There are plenty of other leisure activities at Saratoga Springs. These include tennis courts, fitness center. bike rentals, basketball, shuffleboard and the resort has several playground and barbecue areas.
There is of course a full service Spa at the resort. They offer a full range of spa treatments for you to enjoy.
Disney Saratoga Springs Resort Hotel Transportation
The resort is of course located close to Downtown Disney. You can either take the boat across the lake or take the 10 minute walk. The other Disney parks and resorts are accessible by Disney bus transportation. Guests report that often the transportation can take a while to get to the parks. It is probably the least convenient of all the Disney deluxe hotels.
