If you’re lucky enough to be sailing on Halloween on the High Seas this year aboard Disney Treasure, you’re in for an extra treat.
Every Disney ship has its own enchanted pumpkin tree, and the Treasure is welcoming a brand new character to the family: Ginger.
I’ve seen a lot of Disney Cruise Line Halloween décor over the years, and the pumpkin trees are always a highlight.

They aren’t just decorations — each has its own personality, backstory, and magical surprise during your cruise.
Why Ginger is Different from the Other Pumpkin Trees
Most of the pumpkin trees across the fleet feel like they’ve jumped out of Sleepy Hollow — mysterious, gnarled, and more than a little spooky.
Disney Magic has Reap, Disney Wonder has Bog, Disney Dream has Grim, and Disney Fantasy has Mucklebones.

But the Treasure is a new ship, and Ginger is a very different kind of tree.
She isn’t spooky at all.
Instead, Ginger was inspired by Agrabah, the city from Aladdin.
Think glowing gourds, intricate carvings, and lantern like shapes that feel straight out of a marketplace in Aladdin’s hometown.
Her pumpkins are a little more elongated than traditional jack-o’-lanterns, giving off that distinct gourd like look from the region.

And yes, her carvings are even tied back to the transformations of Genie himself.
The Grand Hall of Disney Treasure is simply stunning. I have spent many happy hours there just looking at all of the beautiful details.
This is the kind of design that sets Disney apart from other cruise lines. The combination of design and how they weave this into their huge legacy of story telling is something you just can’t find anywhere else.
The Story of Ginger
Disney Cruise Line always pairs each pumpkin tree with a story, and Ginger’s tale begins the very first night of your sailing.

When you step into the Grand Hall, you’ll meet storytellers named Coriander and Sage. They’re just as surprised as you are that a magical tree has sprouted on the Treasure.
Together, they’ll share how Ginger appeared, how she’s learning about our Halloween traditions, and how Genie’s magic shaped her carvings.
Here’s the best part: you get to help Ginger discover Halloween.
Just like Boo on the Disney Wish (whose magic pumpkins tie into Cinderella’s carriage), Ginger’s story is interactive.
You’ll help introduce her to trick-or-treating, and as the tale unfolds, something magical happens – Ginger lights up in a glowing display that will shine over the Grand Hall for the rest of your cruise.

Which Sailings Feature Ginger?
You’ll only meet Ginger if you’re sailing on the Disney Treasure during Halloween on the High Seas in 2025. These special cruises include costume parties, themed movies, and Halloween meet and greets with Disney characters in their spooky best.
Here are the Treasure’s 2025 Halloween sail dates:
- September 20
- September 27
- October 4
- October 11
- October 25
All are 7-night sailings from Port Canaveral.
I love how Disney Cruise Line takes something as simple as a seasonal decoration and turns it into a character with a story. Ginger gives the Treasure her very own identity, just as Boo did for the Wish.
If you’re sailing this fall, don’t miss that first night storytelling event in the Grand Hall.
It’s one of those hidden gems you might skip if you don’t know about it – but kids and adults alike will come away enchanted.
And each time you pass by Ginger glowing in the Grand Hall, you’ll be reminded that you helped bring her to life.
So yes, pack your costumes, your candy bags, and get ready to say hello to Ginger when the Disney Treasure sets sail this Halloween season.
