The Disney Wonder will sail from San Diego in 2014. Unfortunately it is only for 2 sailings but it is exciting news that the Disney Wonder will be sailing from this port. This is the first time that the Disney Wonder has sailed from San Diego, although it did make several port stops there in 2012 on her California Coastal cruises.
The first sailing is on 17th May 2014 for a 2 night cruise to no where. The Disney Wonder will set sail from San Diego on Saturday and return to port on the Monday after a full day at sea in between. This is the perfect opportunity for first time cruisers to get a taste of the Disney Cruise experience.
The Disney Wonder will then set sail out of San Diego on 19th May 2014 on a journey to Vancouver in readiness for her 2014 Alaskan cruise season. Here is the itinerary for the cruise:
Monday San Diego, CA
Tuesday At Sea
Wednesday San Francisco, CA
Thursday At Sea
Friday At Sea
Saturday Vancouver, Canada
We were fortunate to be on one of the 2012 coastal sailings in 2012 and enjoyed it tremendously. Let’s hope too that they make it into a Pixar cruise as they did those 2012 sailings. We particularly enjoyed the port stop in San Francisco so it is good to see that this will be included on the 2014 repositioning cruise as well.
The Disney repositioning cruises are often priced lower per night than the round trip cruises so they are a great value. You do of course have to spend money on the transportation back home though so this may outweigh the cruise savings. It would of course be possible to combine the 2 sailings from San Diego for a 7 night cruise. Or sail into Vancouver and then cruise Alaska.
