Once inside you’ll be in for the ride of a lifetime. The possessed elevator surges to great heights and then free falls over and over again.
What’s super fun is that the ride is randomized, so you will never know exactly when it will surge or drop.
A thrilling ride, at times you’ll be in complete darkness, while at others you’ll catch a glimpse outside to see how high up you are.
Reaching speeds of 39 mph, it’s one of the fastest rides in Disney World.

A heart-pumping moment is when you encounter the broken tracks (destroyed by none other than the Yeti).
So at a dead-end, the only way to go is backward!

4. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith
Top Speed: 57 mph
Height Requirement: 48 inches

Speeding up to 57 mph, this is one of the fastest rides in Disney.
A major highlight is the soundtrack. Playing Aerosmith hits like “Love in an Elevator” (changed to “Love in a Roller Coaster”) and “Sweet Emotion”, you’ll be rocking out from start to finish.
When planning your next trip to Disney, be aware that the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster closed for renovations in January of 2024. Fingers crossed it will reopen, as expected, in time for the summer season.

Don’t worry about pedaling or holding on tight enough, you’ll be strapped into this unique ride as you race through the Energy Gates reaching speeds of 60 mph to secure victory for Team Blue.
A super cool part of TRON Light Cycle Run is that it blasts you outside, flying high above the heads of folks below.
A word to the wise: The lights will accompany you as you ride outside, but they’re hard to see during the day. So if you can, consider hopping on this ride after the sun has gone down.
2. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind
Top Speed: 60 mph
Height Requirement: 42 in.
Location: World Discovery at EPCOT
Blast off with the gang of Guardians of the Galaxy for the second-fastest ride at Disney World.
There are so many things to love about this ride—from the crazy good dark ride lights that feel like you’re zipping through the stars, to the cast of the movie being right there with you (at least in video and hologram form), and the fact that this spinning coaster takes you in every direction including backwards.
Most important of all, it’s insanely fast. Getting up to 60 mph, it’s one of the best of the 10 fastest rides at Disney World.
Another great thing is that every time you ride, you’ll have a different experience. Why?
The soundtrack. With 6 different songs like Tears for Fears’ “Everybody Wants to Rule the World,” and “One Way or Another” by Blondie, you’ll have a different experience every time you ride. So, why not rewind and do it all over again?!
1. Test Track
Top Speed: 65 mph
Height Requirement: 40 in.
Location: World Discovery at EPCOT
The fastest ride in all of Disney World is the Test Track by Chevrolet, and you’ll find it at Epcot.
You’ll design your car and then “test” it out on the ride. Putting it through several tests like efficiency and reaction, your car will take sharp turns and accelerate fast. During these tests, you’ll love the futuristic dark ride with its computer-like graphics and neon lights.
But the fun really starts when you’re blasted outside to see what your car can do on the road. With the wind in your hair, you’ll be reaching speeds of 65 mph. A real rush of adrenaline, nothing beats this power move on the fastest ride in Disney World.
Special Mention – Splash Mountain
Splash Mountain in Adventureland at Magic Kingdom is one of the fastest rides at Disney World, reaching 40 mph as you fly down the log flume into the water below.
But, as you probably know, the ride has been closed for refurbishment. Specifically, it will be redesigned and replaced with a ride called Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, based on the animated movie The Princess and the Frog.
The ride theme will change but the actual structure won’t – so when it reopens it will still be one of the fastest rides in Disney World.
