So, let’s talk about one of the best activities on a Disney Cruise for the grown ups… the Beverage Tasting Seminars.
These things are insanely popular—and for good reason. Whether you’re into wine, whiskey, champagne, or cocktails, there’s something for every adult who wants a fun (and delicious) escape from the usual cruise activities.

But here’s the real gem: the Mixology Class. Imagine learning how to craft incredible cocktails with a small group of fellow cruisers, led by a bartender who keeps it fun, interactive, and just the right amount of tipsy.
I’ve done a lot of Disney Cruise activities over the years, but let me tell you—the mixology class? It is always one of my favorites.
Why?
Because it’s not just about sipping drinks; it’s about the experience. The laughs, the learning, the flavors—it’s something you’ll actually remember long after the cruise is over.

Stick with me, and I’ll give you the full scoop on why this class is a must-try and how to maximize your chances of getting a spot (because these things sell out FAST).
What to Expect
So, what exactly is a Disney Cruise Mixology Class? Let me break it down for you…
It’s basically an interactive, adults-only cocktail-making experience where you’ll learn how to craft (and, of course, drink) some seriously amazing cocktails. ? And the best part? It’s led by expert bartenders who know their stuff and keep things fun, light, and full of laughs.
Now, here’s the deal—this class has changed a bit over the years. Back in the day, you’d actually get behind the bar to mix your own drinks.
These days, all of the classes I have attended recently, and all of the feedback I have heard from others is that the bartenders do the heavy lifting while you sit back, sip, and soak up all the tips and tricks.

Honestly? It’s still just as entertaining, and the best part—you don’t have to worry about spilling a shaker full of mojito all over yourself. Not that I’ve ever done that… but I did manage to spill the most expensive wine all over the table during a wine tasting once. Totally blamed the tiny table for that one—not my level of intoxication. And I’m sticking to that story.

Oh, and the cocktails? They’re not your run-of-the-mill drinks. We’re talking everything from classic martinis to creative, colorful concoctions you’d never think to make at home.
Every drink is unique, and by the end, you’ll have a new appreciation for what goes into crafting the perfect cocktail.
Bottom line? It’s fun, it’s delicious, and it’s the perfect way to level up your cruise experience.
Mixology on Disney Wish
Our mixology class was held at The Rose Bar on the Disney Wish, and let me just say—it’s an absolutely stunning spot. The words “hidden gem” are over used, but this really is the way to describe this Deck 12 Bar on Disney Wish and Disney Treasure.
Super elegant, but still cozy enough to feel like you’re just hanging out with friends. As this was my first solo cruise I was a bit nervous about going by myself, but I was soon chatting with fellow mixology enthusiasts and soon forgot that I was on my own.

There were only eight of us in the group, which was perfect because it made the whole thing feel really intimate and chill. No big crowds, no distractions—just a small group of people ready to have a good time.
I’ve sailed on other cruise lines before, and let me tell you—they’ve had entire dining rooms packed full of people for their tastings.
And honestly? It’s just not a great experience. Way too crowded, way too loud, and it kinda feels like you’re at some massive banquet instead of an actual tasting. Definitely not the vibe you’re looking for when you’re trying to enjoy the tasting experience.
Disney Cruise Line Mixology Class
This is one of the most popular of all the Beverage Seminars.
I have attended many of these classes and have always been impressed at how entertaining and informative they are.
The pictures below come from a recent Mixology Class which was held in The Rose Bar on Disney Wish.
Now, the bartender? This guy was a pro. Not only did he know his stuff, but he made the whole experience fun and relaxed.
He was very open to any questions that we had. And also if we didn’t like the flavor of a drink he offered modifications so that we could enjoy something a bit different.
And the drinks? They really were next level.

And yes, we did get the “bubble” drinks that are so popular these days. Always a lot of fun – and this one tasted very good too.
If you’re on the fence about trying it, trust me, it’s worth every penny.
Alright, so here are a few quick tips to make sure you crush it at your Disney Cruise Mixology Class…
Book Early:
These things sell out fast. Like, blink-and-it’s-gone fast. If you’re serious about going, make sure you jump on the Disney Cruise Navigator app as soon as bookings open.
Your Castaway Club status helps determine when you can book, so if you’re a first-timer, set a reminder for when the general booking window opens. Trust me, you don’t want to miss this.
However, it really is worth keep checking back for something becoming available once you are onboard. This is how I snagged this reservation for the Mixology and also the Wine Tasting that I did on this Disney Wish cruise. I did not have anything pre booked – but just kept checking the Navigators App.
This is what was available when I embarked on Disney Wish – and here the time is 1.25 pm.

Come Prepared:
Look, after a few cocktails, you’re probably not going to remember all the amazing tips and tricks you learned.
So bring a notebook, take some quick notes, or even ask for recipes. That way, when you’re back home, you can whip up that killer martini like a pro.
And just as I never take my own advice, I tried to write things down on my phone so I would know what these drinks were – but pretty much failed! I do know I enjoyed this one in particular.

Timing Matters:
Pay attention to when you book your class. You don’t want it clashing with something big like another event you’re excited about.
And let’s be real—starting your day with a beverage tasting might sound fun in theory, but pacing yourself is key.
For some reason the Champagne Tasting is often scheduled at 1 pm on embarkation day – I did that once and never will again!
How Much Does it Cost?
Let’s talk about the elephant in the room—pricing. Yeah, the cost has gone up over the years. I remember when these mixology classes were around $25, and now they are $45. But here’s the thing… it’s still 100% worth it.
Why? Because you’re not just paying for a couple of drinks.
You’re getting a full-on experience. If you’re a cocktail enthusiast or just someone who wants to do something fun and adult-only while onboard, this is the move.

You’ll learn some legit pro tips, try unique drinks you’d probably never think to make on your own, and it all happens in an intimate, small-group setting.
Bottom line: If you’re into great drinks, good vibes, and a little hands-on fun, the value is absolutely there. $45 for an experience like this? Honestly, it’s a no-brainer.
What Other Tastings Are Available?
Disney Cruise offers an incredible selection of beverage seminars, each catering to different tastes and preferences. Here’s a full list of what’s available, along with their prices (note that for the Australia and New Zealand sailings they price will be higher as the gratuity will be included).
- Beer Tasting: $45
- Bourbon Tasting: $50
- Champagne Tasting: $70
- Chocolate & Liquor Tasting: $60
- Cognac Tasting: $60
- Martini Tasting: $50
- Mixology Class: $45
- Mojito & Caipirinha Tasting: $50
- Rum Tasting: $50
- Stem-to-Stern Wine Tasting: $50
- Tequila & Margarita Tasting: $45
- Whiskey Tasting: $50
Each seminar offers a unique experience. For example:
- The Champagne Tasting is perfect for bubbly lovers. Although it’s pricey.
- The Chocolate & Liquor Tasting is a decadent pairing of sweets and spirits.
- The Mojito & Caipirinha Tasting provides a tropical, refreshing vibe.
- The Rum Tasting is ideal for fans of this versatile spirit.
That said, the Mixology Class is one of my personal favorites. I have been to this tasting many times now on different Disney ships and never been disappointed. I particularly enjoy them on Disney Wish and Treasure as they take place in The Rose Bar and the bar tender there always seems to be particularly knowledgable and entertaining.
The one that I really didn’t enjoy was the tequila tasting that I did recently on Disney Magic. The bar tender was not particularly great at presenting, and the tequila selections just didn’t seem very inspiring.
If you have the time, and can actually get to book them, I’d recommend trying at least one of these tastings. Each one brings something special to the table, and no matter what you choose, you’re in for a memorable experience.

How to Book
Here’s the deal: once you’ve paid your cruise in full and your booking window opens, you can start locking in reservations for onboard activities and checking out their pricing online.
But heads up—some of these activities sell out fast (like, blink-and-you’ll-miss-it fast), and most of them come with an extra fee.

At first I wasn’t a huge fan of this Old Fashioned, but the bar tender modified it for me with more of the cherry flavor and it quickly became one of my favorites.
Now, your booking window depends on your Castaway Club membership level. Here’s how it breaks down:
- First-Time Guests: 75 days before your sail date
- Silver Castaway Club Members: 90 days before your sail date
- Gold Castaway Club Members: 105 days before your sail date
- Platinum Castaway Club Members: 120 days before your sail date
- Pearl Castaway Club Members: 123 days before your sail date
- Concierge Guests: 130 days before your sail date*
*If you’re a Concierge Guest, you can book up to 130 days before your sail date by reaching out to the Shoreside Concierge Associate team. Online booking for Concierge Guests opens at 123 days prior to sailing.

But make sure you keep checking back. I booked the Mixology and the Wine tasting after I go onboard.
Bottom line? Know your window, plan ahead, and don’t wait—those activities aren’t going to book themselves!
Final Thoughts
Here’s the deal: the Mixology Class on a Disney Cruise is one of those experiences that takes your trip to the next level.
You’re not just sitting there sipping drinks—you’re learning from the pros, watching them demonstrate how to mix, shake, and create amazing cocktails while enjoying each one they make.
It’s fun, interactive, and perfect for anyone who loves a good cocktail and wants to pick up a few insider tips.
Sure, prices have gone up a bit, but honestly, it’s still a fantastic value. You’re not just paying for the drinks—you’re getting an entertaining and engaging experience that feels like a little party all on its own. And on a Disney Cruise, where everything is about creating magical moments, this fits the vibe perfectly.
So here’s my advice: don’t wait. These classes are super popular, and spots fill up fast. If you’re even thinking about it, book it early and lock in your space.
Trust me, this is one of those unique opportunities you don’t want to miss—great drinks, great fun, and some great stories to take home with you!
