In 2023 Disney Cruise Line introduced new internet packages.
These new Disney Cruise Internet Packages were a welcome change for the ships, which up to that point only offered expensive data usage-based options.
However, not long after these new packages were introduced, there were significant price increases.
And then in 2025 there was another large price hike.
Here I will look at what the options are and how much the Disney Cruise Internet costs.
For historical reasons, I will keep the original prices as a comparison.
What Are The Disney Cruise Internet Packages?
Disney Cruise guests can purchase Internet for either:
- A 24-hour period
- Per Voyage
As you will see from the prices below, there is a 15% discount on per-voyage pricing compared with 24-hour pricing.
This compares with a 20% discount that was offered previously.
If you decide to upgrade to a Voyage plan mid-voyage you will only be charged for the remaining days. However, you do need to be aware that you will be charged for a complete day no matter what time on that day you choose the Per Voyage package.
So if you change your package at 11.59 pm to a Per Voyage package you are going to be charged a whole day, even though you only had a minute of that day left.
When Did This Increase Happen?
The new internet package prices are now available on all six of the Disney Cruise Ships.
There used to be 3 choices of internet package – but this has now been reduced to 2 choices.

Cell Service and Messages At Sea
You may be able to get cell service whilst at sea – but we highly recommend that you research charges before deciding whether or not to use these services as they can be extremely expensive,
As soon as we set sail we put our phone onto airplane mode to avoid incurring what can be very high charges for cell service.
If you want to have cell service at sea, always explore the charges and think carefully about whether or not you need this service.
Your ability to get cell service while cruising depends on your ship’s location.
While you may not always have a signal, it is possible to use your cell phone on a cruise. When you do connect, it’s typically through a service called “Cellular At Sea,” which most carriers treat as roaming.
And it’s expensive.
This service activates once your ship is at sea and relies on satellite signals, unlike land-based towers that are far away at sea. If you connect, your phone will display “Cellular At Sea” or “901.”
You can also make calls if you’re connected to the ship’s Wi-Fi, allowing for additional communication options.
On a Disney Cruise you can use WhatsApp without having to connect to the ships wifi. If you have an iPhone, you can send and receive iMessages while onboard. However, you won’t be able to send or receive any pictures or videos.
Be aware that international rates from cellular providers can be steep. Major carriers like Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&T offer international data plans. If you have service during your cruise, expect an automated message the first time you turn on your cellular data, explaining the plan and associated charges.
It’s wise to reach out to your mobile carrier before your trip to understand potential charges for using your phone abroad. Since rates can vary by country, make a list of your cruise destinations and be clear about asking for charges in each country you will visit.
Ask your provider what the plan includes, such as talk, text, and data limits, and whether prices differ for usage at sea versus in port.
When in port, your phone will usually connect to a local carrier from the country you’re visiting. Some destinations like Mexico, Canada, and certain Caribbean islands may be included in your plan, and even if they aren’t, the charges could be lower than those incurred while at sea.
