If you have a baby, a cruise might not immediately sound like the perfect vacation.
However, DCL has thought of everything, especially for families with little ones, and you might just change your mind after discovering what’s on offer!

Remember that for most cruises babies have to be at least 6 months old to sail.
For the South Pacific, Transatlantic, Hawaii and Panama Canal repositioning cruises, the minimum age to sail is one year old at the time of embarkation.
Whilst we talk about and show pictures from Disney Treasure in this guide, everything here also applies to the other DCL ships. Each one has it’s own it’s a small world nursery, a splash zone, and you can get the same amenities on every ship.
If you want to see pictures of the Disney Wish Nursery you can see those here.
If you have older children here is our Disney Cruise Ship Kids Club Guide.
What is Offered for Babies and Toddlers on DCL
Traveling with babies and toddlers on a Disney Cruise is easier than ever, thanks to a variety of convenient services and amenities:
- Complimentary essentials like diaper disposal units, bottle warmers, sterilizers, cribs, and playpens are available upon request. These are limited, so it is important to request in advance if you can. This is done by logging into your reservation online or in the App and going to the Special Requests section. You can also ask your travel agent to help with this. If you do not do this in advance then ask your Stateroom Host or at Guest Services when you board.
- Strollers are available free of charge at Guest Services.
- Pack-n-Play portable cribs are provided at no cost, with your Stateroom Host happy to set them up and take them down daily. They are suitable for babies and toddlers up to 35 inches tall.

- High chairs are available at all onboard restaurants to make dining with little ones stress-free.
- Fresh pureed vegetables can be specially prepared in the main dining rooms or through room service upon request.
- Baby supplies like diapers, training pants, rash cream, infant formula (ready-to-feed), bottles, pacifiers, baby food, baby shampoo, lotion, and powder are available for purchase in the onboard shops. However, these items are often a lot more expensive than they are on land, and your favorite brands probably won’t be available, so it is always best to bring your own.
- On Disney Castaway Cay, the private island in the Bahamas, and Lighthouse Point complimentary wagons and strollers are provided to help families navigate the sandy beaches more easily.

It’s a Small World Nursery
The It’s a Small World Nursery is a dedicated space for babies and toddlers under 3 years old, available on all Disney Cruise ships.
Disney Cruise Line (DCL) is one of the very few cruise lines to provide group babysitting services for children in this age group, making it an incredible convenience for parents.

For children between 6 months and 3 years, the It’s a Small World Nursery on Disney Treasure is an absolute gem.
While individual babysitting isn’t offered, this group option is so well-designed, it provides a great convenience for parents with kids aged under 3.
Inspired by Mary Blair’s Iconic Artwork
If you’ve ever been on the It’s a Small World ride, you’ll instantly recognize the nursery’s whimsical design. Mary Blair’s signature artistic style shines brightly here, with beloved Disney, Pixar, and Marvel characters reimagined in her aesthetic to create a playful, cheerful space that feels magical.
And don’t worry—while the ride’s iconic theme song isn’t on repeat, just seeing the nursery may trigger the tune in your mind (you’re welcome!).
The Largest Small World Nursery Yet
As the largest Disney Cruise ship, Disney Treasure (and Disney Wish) also boasts the biggest It’s a Small World Nursery. The nursery is thoughtfully divided into:
- A large play area with toys, a play mat, and a TV screen with interactive activities.
- A cozy crib area for naps, visible from the playroom.

- A reception area for check-ins and questions.
Every detail is designed to ensure babies and toddlers feel comfortable and safe while having fun.
How Much Does It Cost?
The It’s a Small World Nursery is not included in the standard cruise fare, but the cost is very reasonable:
However, for the excellent facility offered and the care of the fabulous Cast Members the $9 per hour and $4.50 for the extra half hour for the first child really is very reasonable. You must book at least one hour.
If you have any additional children that are the right age for the Nursery they are charged $8 an hour and $4 per half hour.

- A bag with essentials like baby food, diapers, clothes, and a pacifier (note: cribs only allow pacifiers without attachments for safety).
At pick-up, designated adults with the set password must collect the child. Cast Members will provide detailed feedback on your child’s experience, including meals, naps, and activities.
Tips for a Smooth Experience

- Attend the Open House on embarkation day to familiarize yourself and your child with the nursery.
- If you need to cancel a reservation, do so at least 4 hours in advance to avoid a fee (50% of the cost). No-shows are charged the full amount.
Toy Story Splash Zone
The U.S. Public Health Service requires that only children who are toilet trained are permitted to enter swimming pools and spas aboard cruise ships, but Disney has a great alternative for younger cruisers.
The Toy Story Splash Zone on Deck 12 is the perfect place for your little ones to have some water play fun. Just so long as they are wearing swim diapers they can explore this water play area.
