Insider Tips for Visiting Gideon’s Bakehouse
As one of the most popular establishments at Disney Springs, Gideon’s Bakehouse draws large crowds – resulting in long queue times!
Thankfully, there are a few things you can do to beat the lines and maximize your experience.
It’s best to arrive at Gideon’s Bakehouse early. Ideally, you want to get in the queue BEFORE the store’s 10 am opening time, to minimize your wait time and get your hands on the best creations before they sell out.
You can expect a decent line to form before the store has even opened its doors.
Mondays through Thursdays are the best time to visit Gideon’s Bakehouse (especially during the back-to-school season) as the crowds are lower. If you visit on a weekend, be prepared to wait in a virtual line for up to four hours!
Once the line gets too long, Gideon’s Bakehouse switches to a virtual queue. This effectively allows you to sign up to queue, then leave and experience Disney Springs’ other attractions so you don’t waste hours in line.
You’ll eventually receive a text to return and join the end of the ‘return line’, where you’ll be handed a menu by one of the friendly staff members.
It’s a good idea to select which cookies you’d like to purchase before you get to the cabinet; it can be overwhelming!
As mentioned earlier, the Coffee Cake cookie is exclusive to Gideon’s Disney Springs location – and it sells out fast, so it’s definitely a must-try.
Along with this, you may wish to indulge in whichever limited edition flavor is on offer at the time of your visit!
Ask a friendly staff member if you have any questions or need direction. Further, if you visit in the evening, be sure to try the Dark Coffee Cake Cookie – a dark chocolate variation of the original Coffee Cake cookie which is only available after sunset.
When you eventually enter the Gothic bakehouse and sink your teeth into a luxurious baked good, you’ll understand that the experience is so worth the wait!
Gideon’s Bakehouse guests may buy up to 6 cookies per person at a time, which is reasonable considering each cookie weighs nearly half a pound! Each cookie and cold brew costs $6, with the massive cake slices costing $9.
Further, don’t miss out on the Hot Cookie Hour(s). Gideon’s Bakehouse has two hot cookie hours daily, from 2-3 pm and again from 7-8 pm, in which guests can indulge in a hot cookie fresh out of the oven and topped with a scoop of cold vanilla ice cream.
