Undeniably, the most impactful and game-changing movie series to come out in the last few years is the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The way they intertwined all these superheroes into one massive story was ingenious and was something that had never been done before on the big screen.
I still remember being blown away when Iron Man makes a cameo appearance at the end of “The Incredible Hulk”
What impresses me most about the MCU is how consistently good they are. All the movies between Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Avengers: Infinity War are all at the least a 7/10. A movie studio producing so many good movies in a row is a rare thing to see.
And now, many of those movies are on Disney+! Not all of the MCU movies, unfortunately, but they still have some of the best ones on there. Here are the top-5 MCU movies for you to enjoy on Disney+.

Ant-Man
This was one of the first MCU movies I watched and is still one of my favorites out of the entire series.
The first thing I like about it is it’s a smaller story compared to the movies in the franchise. The big battle at the end consists of two men fighting in a child’s bedroom. Compare that to the Avengers for example, where they have a huge battle in New York City.
It’s one of the funniest MCU movies as well. “Baskin Robbins always finds out” always gets a laugh out of me.
There isn’t that much action in the movie – it’s mainly focused on telling lots of jokes and developing the characters, which is a little rare for an action movie.
- Captain America: The Winter Soldier
The writing in this movie is very strong. Before this movie, no one really loved the character of Captain America.
After this release though, he became a lot of fans’ favorite character. The writers just knew how to make him interesting.
The way they made him interesting was by showing him struggling to adapt to the modern world. Sometimes this leads to some good jokes about him not knowing what certain items are, but other times it can be very emotional.
One of the first scenes is him talking to his girlfriend from the 40s’, who is now close to dying from old age, and I have to admit, it is a very tear-jerky scene.
It’s a story that has you hooked from beginning to end. This is an MCU movie you can’t skip.
3. Black Panther
It surprised me how much I enjoyed this movie. I wasn’t a massive fan of Black Panther when he was introduced in Captain America: Civil War, so I didn’t expect to like this movie so much.
Then I watched it, and it blew me away. This is one of my favorite superhero movies of all time.
The thing I like the most about this movie is its message. It’s a very important message about helping others and the way they conveyed it was very clever.
The action is great in this movie. One of my favorite action scenes out of all the MCU movies is the car chase towards the middle of the film.
Another scene I love is the Ancestral Plane where Black Panther confronts his father on the terrible things he’s done. The music, setting and drama are all so good.
2. Captain America: Civil War
I put this movie on this list because of one scene alone, and that is the airport scene. I have never had so much fun in a movie.
Watching that scene was like going to a party. The quips and jokes the characters make while they’re fighting each other are all amazing.
It’s one of those scenes that keeps getting better and better as it goes along. You think they can’t top it, but then add some new twist or surprise in there that makes it ten times better.
The rest of the movie is very good as well. It’s heartbreaking seeing your favorite characters fighting each other. The arguments and fights that break out are all very compelling to watch.
- Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2.
I’d argue that the characters in this movie are the best in all of the MCU. Who has a more compelling character arc than Yondu, besides maybe Iron Man?
I like how this movie both takes itself very seriously, then at other times, it doesn’t.
You’ve got scenes like the one where Rocket finds out Yondu is a reflection of himself, and then you have the scene where Rocket tries to teach Groot how to use the bomb.
It’s impressive that even though there are some really heavy themes about child-abuse, narcissism, and fear of abandonment, and yet it still manages to be a fun light-hearted comedy with lots of fun gags and cool action sequences.
