Each of the four Disney theme parks offers something for visitors of all ages to explore and enjoy.
If you are traveling without kids, you might be wondering which park you should prioritize if you are limited for time.
Here we’re going to discover the best experiences for adults at Walt Disney World and share what we think the best overall theme park is for adult travelers.
We still recommend that anyone visits each of the parks for one day at least where possible, but this guide is designed to help you make the most of your limited time in Orlando.
The Best Theme Park for Adults
Before we discover some of the best rides and attractions for adults in the theme parks, let’s take a look at our top theme park recommendations for adults.
You may find the theming of one park appeals to you more than others, but this guide will give you a good idea about whether you think it’s worth spending money on tickets to each park.
EPCOT
In general, we find Epcot to be the most appealing park for adult travelers. There are many reasons for this, but the food and drink options are what really set this park apart from the other three.
Epcot is home to some great thrill rides, including the new Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind or old favorites such as Soarin’ or Test Track.
The highlight for most adults who visit Epcot is the chance to travel the world by exploring World Showcase.
Here you can visit the eleven featured Epcot countries, all of which have delicious food and drink for you to try.
One very popular thing that makes Epcot possibly the most popular Disney World park for adults is the drinking or eating around the world trend.
This is where you’ll sample a snack or drink from each country as you learn more about their culture and history. Maybe don’t have an alcoholic drink in each of the eleven countries or you may not be able to find the exit!
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
If you are traveling with any movie buffs in your party, make sure you set aside at least one day to visit Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
This park is particularly appealing to fans of the Star Wars franchise, who will love spending time in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
The thrilling new rides that were added to this park make it the best option for high-speed ride lovers, who will enjoy Rise of the Resistance, Tower of Terror and Rock n Roller Coaster.
Animal Kingdom
Animal lovers will enjoy spending time exploring Animal Kingdom during a day out in this theme park.
With the opening of Pandora: The World of Avatar, this park also appeals to thrill ride enthusiasts who can’t wait to experience Flight of Passage in this area.
Expedition Everest and Dinosaur are two other fun rides that adults will enjoy, but it’s a lovely park to just wander around and soak in the atmosphere.
Magic Kingdom
No trip to Orlando is complete without spending a day in the Magic Kingdom.
This park naturally attracts the most younger visitors, but adults can still enjoy the nostalgic feeling that they’ll sense the moment they walk into the theme park.
The new TRON Lightcycle ride has been an excellent addition to this park for adults, who will also enjoy Space Mountain and classic rides such as the Haunted Mansion.
Make sure you stay until the end of the day to see the Happily Ever After fireworks, which will cap off your time in the Magic Kingdom perfectly.
The Best Disney World Rides for Adults
While each park has many rides and attractions for you to explore, there are a few we recommend you prioritize when traveling without kids.
Try to get to these rides first thing in the morning or reserve your pass on Genie+ to reduce your time waiting in line.
Rise of the Resistance
Rise of the Resistance can be found in Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
It’s one of the most technologically advanced rides in the whole resort, which is why we think it’s one of the best Disney World rides for adults.
You’ll go through multiple experience areas before you even board the main vehicle, which takes you on an action-packed journey where you’ll meet many of your favorite characters from the movie franchise.
Flight of Passage
Located within Pandora: The World of Avatar in Disney’s Animal Kingdom park, this ride puts you on the back of a banshee as you head off on a thrilling adventure.
The scenes in this ride are absolutely stunning and it’s one of the best simulator experiences we’ve ever seen.
It’s without a doubt the most popular ride in this theme park, so make sure you are patient when it comes to waiting to ride or try to get here first thing in the morning.
TRON Lightcycle
The newest ride to open in the Magic Kingdom is TRON Lightcycle in Tomorrowland.
Here you’ll board a lightcycle similar to those seen in the movie and head off on a fast-paced roller coaster ride.
It’s the best ride by far in this park for adults but can be quite hard to secure a pass for. Use the virtual line to get your pass but make sure you do this the minute it opens to avoid missing out.
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind
EPCOT’s most recent addition can be found near the entrance to the park and is a musical roller coaster ride celebrating this popular Marvel movie.
You’ll find that the soundtrack changes each time you ride, which is what makes this ride so popular with locals and visitors alike.
Final Thoughts
There’s so much to see and do in Walt Disney World no matter your age or interests.
Adults have just as much fun here when they are traveling without kids and there are plenty of dining and drinking experiences to enjoy as well.
Make sure you do a little research ahead of your next vacation to find the perfect attractions and restaurants for your whole travel party to visit on your adult-only vacation.
