Epcot Coral Reef
If you are looking for an Epcot restaurant that is going to appeal to both the children and the grown-ups then, Coral Reef should be high up on your list.
Epcot Coral Reef is one of those restaurants that I waited years to try – and then really wished that I had discovered it sooner!
Part of the reason why I didn’t go there was because it is literally a “hidden” gem. It is located behind the Nemo and Friends attraction, so not in a high-traffic area.
You aren’t likely to ever walk past it and think, let’s go there because you really aren’t going to see it unless you have a reservation or go off the beaten path.
Epcot Coral Reef has the right combination of great food and Disney uniqueness to make it a hit with all ages. It is definitely an Epcot restaurant which is great for families.
The decor is stunning. The focal point is the huge wall of 8 feet high windows that look onto the huge saltwater aquarium. Diners can view not only 85 species of tropical fish but also the divers who often swim past the windows.
You can request a table right next to the tank. As with all Disney restaurants, requests like this aren’t guaranteed but the Cast Members will do their best to accommodate you.
Whilst it will probably mean that you have a longer wait, I think it is worth it so that you can have such a great view of the tank.
All diners are given a guide to the fish that they will see in the tank. The kids will have fun trying to identify one of the many different species as they swim by.
This definitely gets out vote as one of the best best Epcot Restaurants for families.

Epcot Garden Grill Restaurant
Not many restaurants anywhere in the World actually rotate, so even just for this reason, it is worth taking the family if you have young kids.
However, why the Garden Grill makes it to our list of best Epcot restaurants for families is that the food is pretty good and this is a character experience as well!
The Garden Grill is located in the Land Pavilion, overlooking the Living with the Land attraction.
It rotates very slowly so that you can catch glimpses of the Living with the Land attraction as you dine. Mickey, Pluto, Chip, and Dale do their best to keep you entertained.
All food is served family-style. You can ask for as much food as you want, so no one is going to walk out of this Epcot restaurant feeling hungry.
Chip ‘n’ Dale Harvest Feast (Adult 55.00 / Child Ages 3-9 36.00)
- Harvest-inspired Garden Salad
- Grilled Beef with Chimichurri
- All Natural Sliced Turkey Breast with Turkey Gravy
- Seasonal Vegetables
- Herb and Leek Suffing
- Creamy Mashed Potatoes
- Macaroni and Cheese
- Berry Short Cake with Whipped Cream.
Come here for the atmosphere and the characters and you won’t be disappointed. The food is pretty good. Nothing more than that. And the choice of food is limited.
You are paying for the experience. If you are fine with that then you will enjoy Epcot Garden Grill with your family.
Epcot Teppan Edo
Teppan Edo is a teppanyaki-style restaurant located in the Japan Pavilion at Epcot. It is a lot of fun for adults and kids looking for a good place to have lunch or dinner in Epcot.
Much of the appeal of the Epcot Teppan Edo restaurant is the chefs. They provide their very own form of theater whilst cooking some amazingly delicious food right in front of your eyes.
This experience, coupled with some excellent food, makes it one of the best Epcot restaurants for families.
The one thing that you do have to realize is that all the tables seat 8 guests. Right now we are in times of social distancing, they are being incredibly vigilant about keeping people at a safe distance.
There is a plexiglass divider to separate the two halves, and you will be seated at a safe social distance from others.
But usually, in non-pandemic times, you will be seated with another party unless you have at least 6 in your own group. This can make it a great option for a larger family group of up to 8.

San Angel Inn Restaurante
There really is something for everyone in the family at this Mexican Epcot restaurant. The Mexico Pavillion is one of the most atmospheric of all the Epcot World Showcase countries.
I remember many years ago when I first visited Epcot (yes that was in the ’90s) this was one of the first restaurants that I dined at.
It is one of the most visually appealing and has one of the best settings of all the Epcot restaurants.
When you enter the Mexico Pavilion you are far away from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the World Showcase. You enter a Mexican street market at night.
The sights and sounds really do seem very authentic. It is a busy place, but it somehow feels very relaxing.
Right at the back of the Pavilion, you will see a large Mexican Pyramid. In front of this is San Angel Ristorante.
One of the best things about this Epcot restaurant is that you can dine and watch the boats float by as they sail on the Gran Fiesta Tour.
There is something just very satisfying and entertaining about watching your fellow park goers experiencing an attraction while you eat!
It is sort of like Disneyland’s Blue Bayou – but the food is better….
Here you will find the usual Mexican favorites such as Guacamole and Queso Fundido.
The standard of the food here has improved greatly over the past few years. And the service is also extremely good.
San Angel Inn Restaurante definitely deserves a place on the list of the best Epcot Restaurants for families.
