Are you ready to dine with Miguel and is family on Disney Treasure.
The new Coco-themed restaurant on Disney Treasure is the one that everyone has been waiting to see more details of.
At Plaza de Coco, guests will visit the picturesque town of Santa Cecilia from the Pixar Animation Studios film, “Coco.”
As the Disney Treasure sailings are all 7 nights, guests will dine in Plaza de Coco at least twice as part of their rotational dining experience.
Here is a first look at the menu. Remember that as there will be 2 menus these dishes may be all part of one, or distributed between the two.
Appetizers
- Abuelita Elena Shrimp Diabla with chili-chipotle sauce, cilantro, pickled red onion, and toasted birotes
Chorizo Street Croquettes with chili-lime crema, cotija cheese, and cilantro
Blistered Poblano Pepper stuffed with Oaxaca cheese and green rice
Entrees
- Red Capsicum and Green Parsley Grilled Snapper with fried yucca, refried beans, baby spinach, and pico de gallo
This next item appeared on the original menu but it is now unclear which of these fish entrees will be included – but most likely the Sea Bass will not. No Disney Cruise rotational dining restaurant has 2 choices of fish entree so assume that the choice will be the Snapper above and not the Sea Bass.
- Pan-Seared Adobo Spiced Sea Bass with seared scallops, rainbow carrots, spinach, Romanesco, peas, and chimichurri sauce
- Luisa’s Pollo Asado with Michoacán citrus chicken, cilantro rice, and serrano-tomatillo salsa
- Enrique’s Port Wine Braised Center Cut Beef Short Rib with cheddar cheese and green onion red mash and long green beans with crisp shallots
Desserts
Mexican Chocolate Tart with spiced chocolate crème, caramel pecan nuts, and chocolate glaze
Warm Coconut Tres Leches with milk-soaked coconut cake, caramel sauce, and dulce de leche ice cream
Margarita Lime Cheesecake with a sea salt shortbread and raspberry-agave margarita coulis
What will Coco de Plaza Be Like?
We already know that the Coco-themed restaurant will be in the same location as Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure is on Disney Wish.
In Arendelle the attention to detail and theme are spectacular – just as we expect from any Disney Cruise ship.
The format will most likely be the same in Coco de Plaza – there will be a show on the central stage and then there may be some character greetings at the table.
I wonder if any of the issues with Arendelle can be addressed on Disney Treasure with the Coco-themed restaurant?
What are the issues? The tables are very close together. Not only can you very easily carry on a conversation with the people on the next table, but the Servers find it very difficult to get between the tables.
The other issue is that the stage cannot be seen from a significant number of tables. You can hear the show, but you can’t see it.
Fortunately, in all my dining experiences at Arendelle, I have been seated near the stage and had a great view. However, I know that many aren’t and this is a concern.
I am sure that DCL is well aware of these concerns and I hope that they have found some way to enhance the experience at Coco de Plaza.
Are you looking forward to this restaurant?
