Disney Cruise 2 Night Cruises

disneywondervirtualtour

It is rare for any cruise line to have a 2 night cruise. However, Disney Cruise Lines does occasionally offer them.

Over the past few years the only Disney 2 Night Cruises have sailed from San Diego California.

The Disney Wonder sails out of San Diego in the Spring and Fall and has continued this pattern for a number of years now. I certainly hope they continue as San Diego Port is so easy for me to drive to!

  • Friday. San Diego
  • Saturday. Ensenada
  • Sunday. San Diego

The 2 night cruises tend to be the most expensive Disney cruises on a per night basis. Checking prices in June 2020 for this October cruise for 2 guests has the following price ranges:

  • Inside Staterooms from $1616
  • Outside Staterooms from $1740

Currently there are no 2 night Disney Wonder cruises scheduled for 2021 although I would expect there will be one sailing in the Fall.

The Disney Wonder is the only ship which has a 2 night cruise scheduled at all for 2020 and 2021. The Disney Dream, Magic and Fantasy rarely, if ever offer them.

There is a lot more choice for 3 night cruises.

Are 2 Night Disney Cruises Worth It?

disneycruisemexico

As you can see from the prices shown above for the 2 night Disney cruises, the per night cost is high. Even if you are in an Inside Stateroom on the Disney Wonder you are paying almost $1000 per person.

Disney Cruises are amazing. The entertainment, food, service and overall experience is wonderful.

However, a 2 night cruise is something I think you have to consider very carefully. If this is your only chance to go on a Disney cruise because you have time restrictions, and the cost doesn’t give you pause, then definitely go ahead and book.

However, you do need to be aware of the limited time you will actually spent on the ship.

Embarkation Day is a lot of fun, but you won’t be on the ship until 12.30 and possibly quite a bit later. That is on Friday.

You get to enjoy the whole of Saturday, but you will disembark early in the morning on Sunday. The last breakfast on disembarkation day is always a sad time as you are leaving the ship. But you won’t even have been on it for 48 hours by this point! You will probably be heading home by 8 or 9 am.

You could combine a 2 night Disney cruise with a longer cruise. However, the per night cost is still high, and it would be more cost effective overall if you just booked a longer cruise.

Are 3 Night Cruises Worth It?

disney2nightcruise

Disney offers a huge choice of 3-night cruises, particularly on the Disney Dream. It is my guess that the new Disney Wish will also have 3-night sailings. The reason? It is just enough time to get a short break without having to commit to a longer vacation in terms of time and money.

What makes the Disney 3 night cruises particularly worth it is that they all have a port stop at Castaway Cay. Disney’s Private Island is amazing. This is a huge amount of the appeal of the 3 days Disney Cruises.

Will you be booking a Disney 2 or 3 night cruise? Have you already sailed on one. Leave me a comment to let me know.
