The restaurants in Wilderness Lodge Disney offer some great dining experiences. Learn about the diverse options for Wilderness Lodge Dining in the ultimate guide to these Deluxe Disney Hotel Resort Restaurants.
When you visit Disney World it can take some time before you discover that often the best dining experiences can be found outside of the Disney Parks.
The Disney Wilderness Lodge has some fabulous restaurants and dining experiences.
As soon as you walk into the Disney Wilderness Lodge you step into a different world. The Wilderness Lodge has been open since 1994 and many guests who go to the Disney World parks don’t experience the relaxed atmosphere of this Disney World Deluxe Hotel Resort.
It’s OK. I get it. Time is rationed when you experience Disney World and something has to give.
But if you really can take some time out on your first second, or whatever number of times you visit Disney World. But try and budget some time at this great hotel for some Disney Wilderness Lodge Dining.
All prices are correct for December 2022.
Whispering Canyon Cafe at Disney Wilderness Lodge
The Whispering Canyon Cafe is a great place for breakfast, lunch and dinner at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. As soon as you walk into the lobby at the Wilderness Lodge you will see the Whispering Canyon Cafe which is set to the side.
Disney describes the Whispering Canyon Cafe as a place to:
“Round up the whole family for hearty Western fare with all-you-care-to-enjoy skillets and shenanigans!”
The menu is famous for its huge skillets! If you have a lighter appetite they are large enough to share.
But what of the Shenanigans? You really have to experience a meal here to understand, but it is the “attitude” of the servers.
In the friendliest possible way, they will involve guests in their jokes and pranks. This is not a quiet dining experience! Don’t come here if you want to have a quiet romantic meal…..
Don’t worry if you really don’t enjoy things like this – they usually get the message of who wants to be involved and who just wants to spectate or simply enjoy their skillet.
However, this is part of what makes the Whispering Canyon Cafe what is it and we suggest you experience it at least once.
Whispering Canyon Cafe does participate in the Disney Dining Plan and Tables in Wonderland when they are running.
If you are going to try just one restaurant in your Wilderness Lodge Dining experience, this is the one you should choose.

Wilderness Lodge Artist Point
At present this restaurant is unavailable. We still included these details of the menu and experience. We will of course update this as soon as we hear of any change.
Artist Point has undergone some controversial changes over the past few years.
Artist Point in Disney’s Wilderness Lodge used to be one of the best fine dining experiences in the whole of Walt Disney World. It was a Signature Dining Restaurant. However, the location of the restaurant also meant that it was rarely full.
Therefore Disney changed the focus of Artist Point in 2018 and did, quite understandably, what they often do when they need more revenue in a restaurant. Bring in the characters!
For some, this was not a popular move.
A fabulous fine dining experience had been replaced. But what makes Disney so unique is its willingness to adapt and give guests what they want.
And out of this change came the very popular Story Book Dining with Snow White.
Story Book Dining at Artist Point with Snow White
Whilst the transformation may have been not a choice that everyone agreed with, the Snow White experience is one of the best character dining opportunities in Disney World.
Starting with the dining room. It was transformed into a whimsical forest fit for a Disney Princess. Enchanted trees and twinkling lights, and beautifully themed menus have taken over at Artist Point.
The characters at Story Book Dining are Snow White, Grump, and Dopey. They do a great job of making the rounds of the tables and will have you singing “Off To Work We Go” before you know it.
The Evil Queen has her very own area. You can visit her at any time for a photo opportunity. I always love the Disney Villains, and Story Book Dining at Artist Point is one of the best chances to meet the Evil Queen.
You can sometimes also see her in Magic Kingdom, but here you get a guaranteed one-on-one. There are Disney PhotoPass photographers available to capture the moment for you and you can use your own camera too.
This is a Disney World Character Dining Experience where you do not need a theme park ticket.
This makes it a great opportunity to experience character dining without having to make it on a day when you are at the Disney Theme Parks.

However, it is a very good counter-service option if you are here.
All food is made to order. You order online or at the counter and then the food is brought to your table.
The Roaring Fork serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It does accept the Disney Dining Plan where that is running.

Geyser Point Bar and Grill
If you want to take some time out and relax and Disney World, Geyser Point Bar and Grill at the Wilderness Lodge is a wonderful place to do it.
It has a beautiful lakeside setting which seems a million miles away from the frantic activity of the Magic Kingdom. However, it is just a boat ride away.
Usually, you can order from the quick service window, or go for full-service dining.
The phrase hidden gem is perhaps used a bit too often. But Geyser Point Bar at the Wilderness Lodge really does deserve this description.
