What is there to do on a Disney Wonder Cruise for Adults?
Whether you are sailing just with the grown-ups or are bringing kids along, there is so much to do for adults. I know that many people think that a Disney Cruise is just for kids – but Disney does an amazing job of keeping all ages happy.
Let us discover all the many things that the Disney Wonder Cruise Ship has to offer for adults.
Disney Wonder Quiet Cove Pool
This is a place where you are going to want to spend a lot of your time on the Disney Wonder.
Deck 9, the pool deck, is divided into 3 different spaces, and a substantial part of this is the adults-only space.
The cabanas buffet takes up are large space on Deck 9 Aft.
Midships is the family entertainment area with the Mickey and Goofy Pool.
Deck 9 Forward is going to be where you want to spend your time if you want a break from the kids!
Whether or not you are traveling with children, this is the space where adults can find some alone time.
Only those aged 18 and over are allowed in this space.
The Quiet Cove Pool is the adult-only pool.
This space has a reasonably sized pool.
It rarely ever seems to be crowded and there are even times when I have enjoyed this space just to myself.
The pool is rectangular in shape and is 5 feet deep. If there are just a few others in the pool you can even get some decent exercise and swim laps! Maybe work off that cocktail…
It is also fun to sit at the side with your feet in the water.
Perhaps even enjoying an adult beverage. The Signals bar is steps away from the pool – and of course, the bar staff are more than happy to bring drinks over for you.
There are also two jacuzzis at the side of the pool.
They are shaded. I have often found myself having the best conversations and meeting new people here!
There are plenty of loungers around the side of the pool.
Admittedly, sometimes, particularly on a Sea Day, you might find it difficult to find a space if you arrive at a peak time, but mostly there do seem to be enough places to sit.
There are some tables and also some armchair type seats available too.
Towels are always available – you do not have to bring them from your stateroom.
Disney Wonder Cruise for Adults – The Cove Cafe
If you are looking for a place to relax and grab a cup of coffee and a snack this is the place to be. The Cove Cafe is located right next to the Quiet Cove Pool on the Disney Wonder.
The Cove Cafe is one of my favorite places to spend time on the Disney Wonder. Not because I am a huge coffee drinker, but because of the very relaxed atmosphere here. It is rarely crowded and you can usually find a place to sit.
It is always a great place to talk to the Cast Members as well, or just to sit back and read a book in a corner. There are some magazines available, but I like to bring my Kindle with me.
The Cove Cafe Menu includes coffee, tea and adult beverages.
All prices shown are correct in 2022 and are in $US.
Disney Wonder Senses Spa
For the ultimate in relaxation on a Disney Wonder cruise for adults, head to the Senses Spa.
Even if you have never tried a spa treatment before, why not indulge on a Disney Cruise?
There are lots of different treatments to choose from.
Whether you want to indulge in a massage, a manicure or a facial, there is something for everyone.
The Senses Salon offers a wide variety of hairstyling options, as well as manicures and pedicures.
I once had the very best pedicure looking out of the window, watching dolphins swimming by. It doesn’t get much more relaxing than that!
If you want to indulge as a couple why not try the Couple’s Villa?
Combine a massage with other spa treatments for the ultimate romantic experience. Well, it is if you have upwards of $500 to spend!
Look out for spa treatment specials which are advertised every day in your Navigator app. T
his will usually let you combine various treatments for a discounted price.
Disney Wonder Rainforest Room
The Rainforest Room is the perfect way to spend some time on a Disney Cruise.
The Disney Wonder Rainforest is a limited-access area where you will find steam rooms, showers, and stone lounge chairs.
In the past, you have sometimes been able to buy a pass for one day for the Rainforest. This doesn’t seem to have been offered for quite a while now – but it is worth checking.
You can buy a cruise-length pass for either one or two people.
They do limit the number of passes that they sell, so I always make the spa one of my first places to go as soon as I get onboard.
You can see more information here at the Guide to the Disney Cruise Rainforest Room.
Disney Wonder Gym
You don’t have to sacrifice your fitness routine when you are sailing on the Disney Wonder.
There is a well-equipped fitness center on Deck 9 Forward.
The facilities are free to use, although there are some classes for an additional fee.
You can also sign up for personal fitness training and classes, but there will be a fee for this.
There is a good amount of cardio machines in the gym, and you can usually get on the equipment that you want to use.
There is also a running and walking track on Deck 5. Each circuit of the deck is 1/3 of a mile.
Disney Wonder Palo Restaurant
One of the highlights of many adults who sail on a Disney cruise is enjoying a meal in the Palo restaurant. This is exclusively for those aged 18 and over.
Brunch is offered on Sea Days and Dinner is offered every day.
Both meals have a charge of $45 plus gratuity for each person.
It really is one of the best values of anything on a Disney Cruise – if you are wondering whether or not to book it, just go ahead!
Should you choose Palo Brunch or Dinner?
It really is a personal preference, but I always pick Brunch.
The reason is that I always enjoy rotational dining restaurants and I don’t want to miss that experience.
It is very difficult to decide which of the fabulous options you will order from the menu.
Dinner is also an excellent experience. The standard of food and service is exceptional – well worth the upcharge.
The Palo Dinner menu does change but here is an example of the items offered.
You can only book one Palo Dinner or one Brunch prior to boarding.
The only exception to this is that you can book two dinners on your Cruise Personalizer if one dinner is for the first night.
Disney Wonder Bars
Deck 3 Forward of the Disney Wonder is the After Hours area which has three different bars.
These are The Crown and Fin, The Cadillac Lounge, and Azure.
Whilst this is an adult area of the Disney Wonder, some of the time it is used for family-oriented activities.
Only the Cadillac Lounge is completely child-free all day.
The Crown and Fin and Azure welcome children prior to 9 pm in the evening.
The Azure Bar has some great adult only events in the evening after 9pm. Make sure that you go to one of the game shows – they are great entertainment!
The Cadillac Lounge is the smallest of the Disney Wonder Bars. It is always just for adults. There is often a really good piano player there in the evenings.
The Crown and Finn is my favorite Disney Wonder Bar.
t is cozy without being too small and it has plenty of light coming in from the huge porthole windows at one side of the room.
There are lots of nostalgically British touches in the Crown and Fin.
As soon as you enter you will see the traditional red phone box.
There are many decorations on the wall.
Disney Wonder Beverage Tastings
If you enjoy an adult beverage or two, you should really try one of the Beverage Tastings.
Disney Cruise Beverage Tastings Include:
- Martini Tasting
- Whiskey Tasting
- Chocolate and Liquor Tasting
- Rum Tasting
- Mojito and Caipirinha Tasting
- Beer Tasting
- Tequila & Margarita Tasting
- Stem to Stern Wine Tasting
- Champagne Tasting
- Bourbon Tasting
My favorites are the Champagne Tasting and the Mixology.
You can book these before you sail on your Disney Cruise Personalizer online.
You can also see if there are spots still left when you board the ship.
However, make sure that you do this as soon as you board. It will be shown in your Navigator app when you board, where you need to go.
On the Disney Wonder, this will usually be the Azure Lounge or the French Quarter Bar, but double-check to be sure.
Buena Vista Theatre
Make sure that you see the shows on Disney Wonder.
These include Frozen: A Musical Spectacular and The Golden Mickeys.
I really can’t recommend the stage shows on a Disney Cruise highly enough.
The words “Broadway Quality” are used a lot in this context.
They really are.
If you paid for these shows on land you are looking at many hundreds of dollars – but this is all included in with your Disney Cruise.
There will also most likely be other variety acts, depending on the length of your Disney Wonder cruise.
Sometimes there is an additional late-night performance which is for adults only.
Disney Wonder Cruise Port Adventures For Adults
The Disney Wonder sails some very varied itineraries throughout the year.
Unlike the Disney Dream and Fantasy which sail exclusively from Port Canaveral, the Disney Wonder has a number of different home ports.
With all of these different Disney Wonder itineraries, you have some opportunities for some amazing Disney Port Adventures.
Many of these are for over 18’s only – so if you want an excursion without the kids, take advantage of these.
Should You Sail on a Disney Wonder Cruise for Adults?
Absolutely. I know that many people have the perception that a Disney Cruise is all about the kids. It isn’t. Disney does the most amazing job of creating a wonderful cruise experience for everyone. No matter what age you are.
