For many people, a cruise with the Mouse is high on their bucket list.
They may have heard about the beautiful ships, the Broadway-quality shows, the character experiences, and that indefinable Disney magic.
But how much does a Disney Cruise cost?
Many see it as out of their reach, and certainly, most of the time the basic cost of a Disney cruise comes out higher than a Carnival or Royal Caribbean cruise.
However, there are a lot of misconceptions about the costs, what is included, and the overall experience of sailing on a Disney ship.
So let’s take a look and see just how much is a Disney Cruise and discover more about the Disney Ships experience, where they sail, and how you can sail for less than you may have thought.
Oh, and we will also tell you just how much the most expensive Disney Wish Suite cost for New Year 2024!
What is Included?
Before we get into more detail about how much it is to go on a Disney Cruise, it’s important to start with what is actually included in the “base price” that you pay.
Here are the things that are included in your Disney Cruise:
- Stateroom Accommodation
- Food in Main Dining Restaurants
- Quick Service Food and Snacks
- Soda, Tea, and Coffee on the Deck and in the Dining Rooms
- Room Service (some items have a fee)
- Broadway Style Entertainment
- Disney Character Greetings
- Kid’s Clubs for Children aged 6 months to 17
- Pools and Recreation including Adult Exclusive Areas
- Movies Including First Run Premiers
- Family Activities Including Trivia, Crafts, and Animation Workshops
What is Not Included?
Most things are included but here are items that are an extra charge.
- Gratuities
- Spa Treatments
- Rainforest Room
- Adult Specialty Dining in Palo, Remy, and Enchante
- Alcoholic Drinks
- All Drinks Ordered from the Bar
- Beverage Tastings
- Specialty Coffee
- Select Snacks and Desserts
- Shore Excursions
- Internet
- Souvenirs
- Airfare and all Transportation and Transfers to the Port
- Trip Insurance
When I looked at this it seemed like a rather long list – but it really isn’t as most of these you can, if you want, choose not to purchase.
The one that I want to explain here because I know it causes the most confusion is gratuities, often known as tips.
There are certain Crew Members on a Disney Cruise, and indeed most cruise lines, that have the majority of their salary paid in tips.
DCL provides guidance as to how much each guest, of any age, should pay as a minimum for gratuities. They are automatically charged to your account, but you can adjust them up or down.
The vast majority of Disney Cruise Line Cast Members are exceptional. Gratuities are important to them.
If you want to know more about tips on a Disney cruise including who you can tip and which Cast Members are not allowed to accept tips is shown in this guide:

How much is WiFi on a Disney Cruise?

This has changed recently (very much for the better) and we have a guide for you about this too.

What Influences the Cost of a Disney Cruise?
The only way to look at the answer to the question is to realize that there are a number of factors that are going to influence the price of a Disney Cruise.
The main ones are:
- Which Disney Cruise ship are you sailing on?
- How long is the cruise?
- Which stateroom do you want?
- What dates are you sailing on your Disney Cruise?
- How many guests are in your stateroom
How Much Is a Disney Cruise Per Person?
When many cruise lines publish their cruise rates they quote them at a per-person rate.
Some, like Carnival Cruise Line, publish a per person per day rate.
Disney publishes rates that show the cost for 2 guests which include taxes and fees. This seems to be a much more accurate way of showing the cost – because that is what you are actually going to pay for your stateroom.
In all the rates we show here take into account the rate for 2 guests in a stateroom.
There is no discount for single travelers on most cruise lines, and Disney is no exception.
Even if you just have one person in your stateroom you will pay exactly the same rate as if there were two.
Even if you have one adult and one child in a stateroom, they will be charged at the same rate as two adults.
Many Disney Cruise Sleep 3 or 4 guests. A limited number of staterooms sleep 5 guests.
After the cost has been calculated for two adults, the third, fourth, and fifth guests in the same stateroom are charged at a reduced price.
Child rates are for children aged 3 to 12.
Teens aged 13 to 17 are charged the adult rate.
There is a lower rate for babies who are not yet 3.
How Many Cruise Ships Does Disney Have?
Disney Cruise Line currently has five ships:
- Disney Magic
- Disney Wonder
- Disney Dream
- Disney Fantasy
- Disney Wish
The fleet is rapidly expanding and will include the Disney Treasure which is being built at the Meyer Werft Shipyard in Germany and will launch in December 2024.
The final Triton Class ship is also on order for launch in 2025. This as-yet-unnamed Disney ship is in the same class as the Wish and the Treasure.
Disney also took the surprise step of purchasing a ship that was almost completed. The Global Dream was 80% completed when its original owner declared bankruptcy.
Disney stepped in to purchase the Global Dream for a reported 40 million Euros. This “bargain” price is remarkable given that the original investment is said to have been around the $1 billion mark.

To an extent, the price of your cruise will depend upon which of the Disney ships you are sailing on.
Right now, the newest ship is Disney Wish.
On a per-night basis, it is likely that you will pay the most for your Disney Cruise if you sail on Disney Wish.
This brand-new DLC ship is very popular and many of the sailings completely sell out.
Let’s look at some pricing.
Whenever we talk about the cost of a Disney Cruise in this guide we are looking at prices today, 1 February 2024 which is when this was updated.
All prices shown are for 2 guests and include fees and port taxes.
Disney Wish sails on 3 and 4-night Bahamian cruises from Port Canaveral, Florida.
All Disney Wish cruises have a port stop at Disney’s very popular private island Castaway Cay.
Here is some pricing for June 2024 for a 3-night Disney Wish Cruise:
- Port Canaveral, Florida
- Nassau
- Castaway Cay
- Port Canaveral, Florida
June 7, 2024 | Inside | Oceanview | Verandah | Concierge |
$3,061 | $3,229 | $3,427 | Unavailable
Per Night | $510.16 | $538.17 | $571.17 |
June 14, 2024 | Inside | Oceanview | Verandah | Concierge |
$3,025 | $3,193 | $3,355 | $5,935
Per Night | $504.17 | $532.17 | $559.16 | $989.17 |
June 21, 2024 | Inside | Oceanview | Verandah | Concierge |
$3,025 | $3,235 | $3,367 | $5,965
Per Night | $504.17 | $539.17 | $561.17 | $994.17 |
If you look at these prices you will see that they vary a little between staterooms and dates with the exception of Concierge Staterooms.
We will come back to the price of Disney Concierge Staterooms but right now let’s just say they are popular, particularly on Disney Wish.
Disney Concierge Staterooms sell out quickly and you will pay a very high premium over a Verandah stateroom. This is usually at least double the price and can be a lot more.
For June 2024 prices on the 3-night Wish sailings are on average per night per person:
- $506.17 for an Inside Stateroom
- $536.50 for an Outside Stateroom
- $563.83 for an Verandah Stateroom
These are all average prices for the lowest-priced stateroom in that category – there will be other staterooms that are higher priced.
However, we can see here how the date influences the price of a Disney Cruise.
Certain times are more popular and in more demand such as School Breaks and Public Holidays.
If you look at how much Disney Wish costs vary in December you will see the obvious reason for this is that more people want to sail in the Holidays than they do in the beginning and middle of December.
December 6, 2023 | Inside | Oceanview | Verandah | Concierge |
$2,551 | $2,803 | $2,905 | $6,145
Per Night | $425.17 | $467.17 | $484.17 | $1024.17 |
December 13, 2023 | Inside | Oceanview | Verandah | Concierge |
$2,587 | $2,761 | $2,935 | $6,373
Per Night | $431.17 | $460.17 | $489.17 | $1062.17 |
December 20, 2023 | Inside | Oceanview | Verandah | Concierge |
$3,391 | $3,565 | $3,739 | $7,813
Per Night | $565.17 | $594.17 | $623.17 | $1302.17 |
December 27, 2023 | Inside | Oceanview | Verandah | Concierge |
$3,811 | $3,955 | $4,153 | $8,893
Per Night | $635.17 | $659.17 | $692.17 | $1482.17 |
For early December 2024, prices on the 3-night Wish sailings are on average per night per person:
- $428.17 for an Inside Stateroom
- $463.17 for an Outside Stateroom
- $486.67 for an Verandah Stateroom
We have only counted the December 6 and 13th cruises as the later ones are Christmas so will obviously be at a much higher rate.
You can see that this is more than$100 per person per night cheaper than the average cost to sail on the Wish in June 2023.
We can also see how the number of days sailing makes a difference to the cost of a Disney Cruise.
A simple direct comparison is to look at and compare the 3-night with the 4-night Disney Wish sailings.
Even though the overall cost will be more, does it make more sense to sail on a 4-night cruise on the Wish because it gives better value per night?
Let’s look at that theory.
For Disney Wish, the answer seems to be no.
June 3, 2024 | Inside | Oceanview | Verandah | Concierge |
$4,299 | $4,859 | $4,931 | Unavailable
Per Night | $537 | $607 | $616 |
June 10, 2024 | Inside | Oceanview | Verandah | Concierge |
$4,307 | $4,595 | $4,971 | $12,515
Per Night | $538 | $574 | $621 | $1,564 |
June 17, 2024 | Inside | Oceanview | Verandah | Concierge |
$4,259 | $4,675 | $4,923 | $9,355
Per Night | $532 | $584 | $615 | $1,169 |
June 24, 2024 | Inside | Oceanview | Verandah | Concierge |
$4,283 | $4,619 | $5,131 | $9,595
Per Night | $535 | $577 | $641 | $1.199 |
For June 2024 prices on the 4-night Wish sailings are on average per night per person:
- $535 for an Inside Stateroom
- $585 for an Outside Stateroom
- $623 for an Verandah Stateroom
Taking June 2024 Wish prices into account then it seems that the price per night is higher for the 4 nights than for the 3 nights.
We will look at this theory for the other Disney ships later in this guide but always look at the per-night price as well as the overall cost when comparing different cruises.
And yes, one ship is definitely more expensive than the others.
Spoiler Alert – It’s Disney Wish.
Where Do Disney Cruises Leave From and How Does this Make a Difference to the Cost?
When many people think of Disney Cruises they think of Florida.
Whilst there are many Disney cruises offered from Port Canaveral, Miami, and Fort Lauderdale, with the continued expansion of the fleet there is a whole new world of home ports for the Disney ships.
Here are some of the Disney Cruise Home Ports offered in 2024 and 2025:
- Aukland, New Zealand
- Barcelona, Spain
- Brisbane, Australia
- Civitavecchia (Rome) Italy
- Copenhagen, Denmark
- Fort Lauderdale, Florida
- Galveston, Texas
- Melbourne, Australia
- Miami, Florida
- New Orleans, Louisiana
- Port Canaveral, Florida
- San Diego, California
- Southampton, England
- Sydney, Australia
- Vancouver, Canada
The home port and cruise itinerary make a difference to the cost of a Disney Cruise.
It can make a huge difference to the cost.
In particular, for new itineraries such as the Disney Wonder sailings from Australia and New Zealand, this can mean that the per-night price is higher than for more established, older routes.
Let’s look at the cost of a Disney Cruise from Australia and New Zealand.
These itineraries are completely new for Disney Cruise Line for October 2023 to February 2024. They were very popular and many dates sold out as soon as they were released.
If you want to see the pattern of pricing and how it has changed from the day the first Australian and New Zealand cruises were released then check out the guide:
Disney Australian and New Zealand Cruise Prices – How Much Do They Cost?
But for this guide, here are some examples of how the price per night of one of these very popular Disney Wonder sailings compares with others in the fleet.
Let’s take this 4-night cruise as our first example:
4-Night Disney Magic at Sea Cruise from Sydney
Sailing on January 26, 2025
Inside | Oceanview | Verandah | Concierge
$2,380 | $2,574 | $2,926 | $5,399
Per Night | $297.50 | $321 | $365 | $675 |
The per person per night price of a Disney Wonder cruise sailing roundtrip from Sydney.
I took the price for the average cost so I can make a direct comparison to Disney Wish.
- $595 for an Inside Stateroom
- $643 for an Outside Stateroom
- $731 for an Verandah Stateroom
Disney Wish 4 Night Cruise
February 3, 2024 | Inside | Outside | Verandah | Concierge |
Disney Wish Bahamian | $2631 | $2,919 | $3,263 | $6,791 |
Per Night | $328 | $364 | $407 | $848 |
What is the Most Expensive Disney Suite?
Now we all like to dream, so I thought I would include some details of the most expensive suite on any Disney ship.
Yes, you guessed it.
The most expensive Disney Concierge Suite is on Disney Wish.
The Tower Suite offers almost 2,000 square feet in a unique location in one of the Disney Wish funnels.
This huge concierge suite sleeps up to 8 guests.
If you want to enjoy this very unique space you have to get in very early. The Tower Suite on the Wish usually books on the very first day that sailings are offered.
The prices that I have seen vary between the $21,000 to $35,000 range, but if you want to celebrate New Year on Disney Wish in the best suite on the ship you would have needed to spend at least $47,403 for 2 guests for the 4 nights.
This was the pricing on opening day for the New Year 2024 Disney Wish sailings if you wanted to book a Concierge stateroom or suite.

To show how popular times of the year can affect pricing, looking at the price of a Disney Alaskan Cruise in July is a good illustration of how prices can vary a lot for exactly the same itinerary.
July 1, 2024 | Inside | Outside | Verandah | Concierge |
$5,264 | $6,902 | $10,598 | $22,610
July 8, 2024 | Inside | Outside | Verandah | Concierge |

How Much Does a 7 Day Disney Cruise Cost?
There are a number of options for a Disney 7-night cruise.
We have already talked about Alaskan cruises and the majority of those are of 7-night duration.
All of the Disney ships, with the exception of Disney Wish sail on 7-night cruises for some of the year.
Disney Fantasy sails for most of the year on 7-night cruises and varies between Eastern Caribbean and Western Caribbean cruises.
Let’s have a look at how much a 7 Night Disney Fantasy Cruise costs at various times of the year.
Disney Fantasy 7 Night Eastern Caribbean
- Port Canaveral
- At Sea
- At Sea
- Tortola
- St Thomas (St John)
- At Sea
- Castaway Cay
- Port Canaveral
First, we will look at sailings in June 2024 as we have been using these dates for other Disney cruises so it makes the comparison more useful.
Prices correct on February 1, 2024, and as usual, are for 2 guests including taxes and fees.
June 1, 2024 | Inside | Outside | Verandah | Concierge |
$5,490 | $5,854 | $6,568 | $15,178
Per Night | $392 | $418 | $469 | $1,084 |
June 15, 2023 | Inside | Outside | Verandah | Concierge |
$5,377 | $5,811 | $6,707 | $25,663
Per Night | $384 | $415 | $479 | $1,833 |
Certain months tend to be cheaper than others.
If your travel dates are flexible, always look at the prices of Disney Cruises in September as this, along with January, tends to be a good time for lower rates.
September 21, 2024 | Inside | Outside | Verandah | Concierge |
$3,445 | $3,725 | $4,299 | Unavailable
Per Night | $246 | $266 | $307 | Unavailable |
September 28, 2024 | Inside | Outside | Verandah | Concierge |
$3,488 | $4,118 | $4,300 | Unavailable
Per Night | $249 | $294 | $307 | Unavailable |
If then we compare what the cost of a 7-night Disney Fantasy Cruise costs if we book more ahead of time then you can see there can be a big difference.
Which Disney Cruise is the Cheapest?
When I started writing this guide, I had a certain idea about which Disney cruise is the cheapest.
However, I was wrong.
Even with over a decade of following Disney cruise pricing, I got it wrong.
I never would have guessed this.
It is a 7-night Alaskan cruise.
May 13, 2024 | Inside | Outside | Verandah | Concierge |
$3,487 | $4,173 | $6,399 | $17,767
$249 | $298 | $457 | $1,269 |
Well, it is the cheapest per night rate offered at the time of writing this, February 1, 2024
However, if you are taking into account the “one off” cruises then the winner on a per night basis is the Eastern Transatlantic cruise on Disney Dream in May 2024.
That is a rate of $172.71 per person per night for a Disney Transatlantic Cruise from Fort Lauderdale to Barcelona, Spain.
Yes, it is in an Inside Stateroom but this is a an amazing cruise. The one thing that you do have to take into account though is the costs of getting to the port. Flight costs might cancel out any per night savings on the cruise.
Here are some examples of costs:
13 Night Eastbound Transatlantic Cruise from Fort Lauderdale ending in Barcelona
May 5, 2024 | Inside | Outside | Verandah | Concierge |
$3,684 | $4,022 | $4,516 | Unavailable
Per Night | $172.71 | $183.28 | $279.71 | $672.71 |
Disney Wonder 9-Night Hawaiian Cruise from Honolulu ending in Vancouver
February 24, 2025 | Inside | Outside | Verandah | Concierge |
$4,904 | $5,138 | $7,316 | $13,940
Per Night | $176.93 | $197.93 | $438.93 | $657.93 |
Which is the Most Expensive Disney Cruise?
Wondering what the most expensive Disney Cruise is?
Obviously, this is going to vary, but my guess was right.
On a per-night basis, this is the most expensive Disney Cruise available to book today, 1 February 2024. For these purposes we are not counting the Disney Treasure maiden voyage – as there is currently no availability for that.
4 Night Disney Wish Very Merrytime Sailing
- Port Canaveral, Florida
- Nassau, Bahamas
- Disney Castaway Cay
- At Sea
- Port Canaveral Florida
December 27, 2024 | Inside | Oceanview | Verandah | Concierge |
$3,811 | $3,955 | $4,153 | $8,893
Per Night | $635.17 | $659.17 | $692.17 | $1482.17 |
How to Save Money on a Disney Cruise
Now you have an idea of the price of a Disney Cruise you will want to know how to save some money!
We have written many guides on how to save money on a Disney Cruise. Here is a great place to start.
Disney Cruise Money Saving Proven Tactics
As you have already seen, certain cruises are cheaper than others.
Sailing at certain times such as early January, September, and early December usually brings the costs down.
Your choice of a category of a stateroom is going to have a huge impact on the costs of your Disney Cruise.
This is most easily seen in the prices of Alaskan cruises. Most people want a balcony, but you can save a lot of money if you are prepared to sail with an Inside Stateroom.
Here is a guide for you so that you can really think about whether or not an Inside Stateroom on a Disney cruise is a good idea for you.
One of the easiest ways to save money on a Disney Cruise is by booking a Placeholder.
You can only do this when you are sailing onboard a Disney Cruise, but in return for a $200 deposit, you get a 10% discount on your next Disney Cruise (does not apply to concierge bookings.
You can also book a Guarantee Stateroom Category.
This is where you do not pick your exact stateroom, but you just pick a category. So you choose from Inside, Outside, or Verandah Stateroom and book a Guarantee.
This can save you a considerable amount of money, but you do need to be aware that you will not have any choice in the location of your stateroom.
